Sweet and Treats in Portland

Portland Cupcakes and Doughnuts

After our much too quick visit to gorgeous Trout Lake Farm in Washington, Emily from Busy Mommy and I headed back to Portland for the night. Everyone else had flights home that afternoon, so we had the whole place to ourselves. And of course, we had just enough time for a quick cupcake and bakery tour of the city!

Portland Cupcakes and Doughnuts

We started out at Saint Cupcake Galore. I love it when bakeries have mini cupcakes to sample! Here we have vanilla, chocolate, pumpkin spice, toasted coconut, and vanilla with chocolate chips.

Portland Cupcakes and Doughnuts

Gorgeous cinnamon roll, which we cut in half and went straight for the center, of course.

Portland Cupcakes and Doughnuts

And an oatmeal cookie whoopie pie with peanut butter and jelly buttercream frosting. Too cute!

Portland Cupcakes and Doughnuts

Our next stop was Cupcake Jones. More mini cupcakes, yay! We sampled the devil’s food cake, vanilla bean, red velvet, and white chocolate marionberry mini cupcakes here. Loved that vanilla bean pastry cream!

Portland Cupcakes and Doughnuts

But we didn’t stop there, we saved the best for last! Oh, how I loved  Voodoo Doughnut. I think my jaw dropped when we walked into this fun doughnut shop!

Portland Cupcakes and Doughnuts

They had so many fun doughnuts to choose from! Yes, that is a Froot Loop doughnut you see! I got it just for fun, but it turned out to be one of my favorites!

Portland Cupcakes and Doughnuts

Here’s what all we picked.

Portland Cupcakes and Doughnuts

Maple bacon. Of course we had to try this one! I am not a huge bacon dessert person, but I did like this doughnut. Although I don’t think I could’ve eaten the whole thing! One bite was enough!

Portland Cupcakes and Doughnuts

Had to try just their basic, glazed doughnut. Yum.

Portland Cupcakes and Doughnuts

Dubble Bubble!! And the blue one with pink sprinkles right next to it is blue raspberry. These two weren’t my favorites, but I will admit they taste exactly how you’d imagine they taste. So if that’s your thing, totally go for these doughnuts!

Portland Cupcakes and Doughnuts

Vanilla Oreo doughnut. Yuuummm.

Portland Cupcakes and Doughnuts

Chocolate Oreo Doughnut with Peanut Butter. Double yum! This might’ve been my favorite.

Portland Cupcakes and Doughnuts

Chocolate cake doughnut with crushed Heath bar topping.

Portland Cupcakes and Doughnuts

And a banana fritter with chocolate, peanut butter, chocolate chips, and salted peanuts. Definitely a highlight of the day!

Thanks so much Emily for running around Portland with me and hanging with me through all these crazy desserts!

Have a great weekend, all!

I cannot wait to try that place one day! Yeah not so much on the bubble gum one, I’ll go for that bacon maple, chocolate oreo and apple fritter. Drooooool!

Diana, I live in Eugene too. You MUST go to Voodoo! The banana fritter thing is amazing and so is the maple bacon. My 6yr old got the Voodoo donut and thought the jelly center was awesome. Oh, bring CASH, that’s the only form of payment they’ll take.

Oh, I want that banana fritter. It looks so good. I have a hard time eating donuts since I worked at Daylight Donuts (in Auburn) in high school and gained a ton! I think my kids would love that bubble gum donut though.

  16. Wendy

Oh my goodness – how do you stay so slim with all of the sugary delights you taste? I’m assuming it’s only a bite of each, but it must be hard to push the rest away! I am on a VLC (very low carb) diet right now, so am living vicariously through you. Keep those delicious pictures coming!

  17. Erin @ Brownie Bites

I absolutely love VooDoo! I love Froot Loops so I would be all over that doughnut! Such cute ideas! The bubblegum one, though? Ehh… not so sure! It’s cute though!
