In all my years as a travel blogger, I have been lucky enough to stay in some pretty nice hotels. But hands down, one of my favorite places I have ever stayed is the Royal Mansour hotel in Marrakech Morocco.
Where is the best place to stay in Marrakech?
If you’re planning a trip to Morocco, you may be wondering where is the best place to stay in Marrakech. Should you stay inside the medina our outside?
The medina is the old city of Marrakech and all the main things to do in Marrakech are inside or very near the medina. You probably prefer to stay close to the medina so you can walk there easily and not worry about transportation.
The medina is a maze of narrow, winding alleyways where no cars can go. Staying inside the medina can definitely be a fun, unique experience, but you’ll probably have to drag your luggage through the confusing streets, and it’s easy to get lost, even with maps on your phone.
This is fine if you’re just wandering and exploring, but when you’re first coming into town with your luggage, it’s so nice to just be dropped off right in front of your hotel!
Royal Mansour – One of the Best Marrakech Hotels
I recommend the best of both worlds. The Royal Mansour is located just outside of the medina, so it can be easily reached by car, and is less than a 15 minute walk from Jemaa el-Fna, the main square of the medina.
The Royal Mansour is the hotel that the King of Morocco built. Staying there definitely feels like being a member of the royal family. I felt like Princess Jasmine!
The king hired thousands of the best artisans in Morocco who spent years creating the intricately handcrafted interiors of the hotel. There are over 118,000 square feet of handmade ceilings alone.
The opulent rooms at the Royal Mansour feature colorful mosaic tiles, geometrically carved wood, sculpted marble and more. Every room is like a piece of art. The attention to detail makes the Royal Mansour one of the most beautiful Marrakech hotels.
The hotel is designed to resemble a traditional Moroccan village. Each guest has their own private riad. That’s right, you don’t stay in a room at the Royal Mansour — you stay in your own private three-story house.
It’s easy to see why the Royal Mansour is one of the most popular Marrakech hotels!
Our Private Riad at the Royal Mansour
A riad is a traditional Moroccan home. In the center of the home is a fountain and a courtyard that is open to the sky.
Let me give you a tour of our private, 3-story riad at the Royal Mansour.
First Floor
On the first floor was our courtyard and fountain, a living room, guest bathroom, small kitchen, and private outdoor terrace.
There was even a cute little writing desk in the corner of the living room.
How amazing is this??! As a welcome gift, all guests at the Royal Mansour receive their own custom engraved, gold embossed stationery.
Just off the living room was the door to our private outdoor terrace.
So beautiful and peaceful!
Second Floor
On the second floor was the bedroom and bathroom.
Note: I was in Morocco with my friend and fellow travel blogger, Heather from Trimm Travels, which is why there are two beds!
I could not get over all the handcrafted elements of our riad — the ceilings, the doors, the carved wood. So beautiful!!

The shower was amazing!
But wait there’s more! There’s still one more floor to go…
Third Floor
The third floor was our very own rooftop terrace.
With our very own private pool!

Inside the Royal Mansour – Pool and Restaurants
Although I definitely think I could’ve spent all day just enjoying our beautiful riad, there’s even more to see and do at the Royal Mansour.
There are gardens, fountains, palm trees, restaurants, a spa, and a giant pool with many private cabanas and lounge areas for relaxing.
You could definitely spend a day just exploring the property and enjoying the amenities.
If you stay here, definitely plan an extra day or two in Marrakech just to enjoy this beautiful property!
The Spa at The Royal Mansour
Don’t forget to check out the spa at the Royal Mansour, and maybe book a private hamman treatment!
A hamman is a traditional Moroccan spa. A treatment usually consists of a full body scrub, hot and cold water treatments, and full body massage.
I honestly can’t think of anywhere else I’d rather get a hammam treatment than at the Royal Mansour!!
If you want to be treated like royalty at the perfect location in Marrakech, I highly recommend the Royal Mansour. I never wanted to leave!! The Royal Mansour is hands down one of the most luxurious Marrakech hotels.
