Miley and Howie have not stopped bouncing around the house. I think they are just as excited about the move as we are! We’ve been unpacking like crazy around here, but this weekend we wanted to make sure these little monsters got lots of playtime in their new backyard before the time changed and we might not have much daylight left after Kevin gets home from work for awhile. And can I just say BOO to it getting dark so early?? I love it when it stays light until after 8 pm, and wish it would stay like that year round!
Hi! This is Miley and I love my new backyard!
I could chase my ball forever!
I got it, I got it!
Whoa, there are lots of leaves in this new backyard!
Howie loves chasing his ball too!
Ready to pounce!
He goes in for the catch…
Oops. He overshoots it just a bit! :)
Lip snarl.
Miley always keeps her eye on the ball.
Howie not so much. Sometimes he gets lost :)
Now he’s got it :)
Miley’s coming to get me!
Howie sees his little squeaker ball…
We are testing out new balls for Howie because his favorite little soccer balls got discontinued! I’ve never seen a more distraught dog.
He seems to like this one pretty good though! :)
Such a sweet girl.
I love Howie’s stretch-n-pounce!
Scoop!
Love seeing this little excited face running towards me.
And this little pudgy toddle with his smooshy lip snarl.
Miley and Howie even met the new neighbors! They are two Dachshunds, a boy and a girl, just like Miley and Howie, just a few years older. New friends in the neighborhood! :)
Look at this sweet little face.
I think they are going to have fun “talking” to each other through the fence, lol!
Howie can’t wait for summer when he can jump in the pool to cool off after a long game of fetch.
Golden hour.
We played until there was just no more light left. I still love seeing this every day.
Have a great Monday, friends! xoxo

Such great shots! I love that they have two new little friends next door! So happy for all of you!
Love seeing photos of Howie & Miley….our Buddy often overshoots the frisbee and does the curl n roll! What lucky dogs with a big backyard and Kevin & you to play with them!
I always love seeing what Miley and Howie are up to and it looks like they’re settling in quite nice to their new digs! The neighbors are pretty darn cute too!
So much fun!!! Love your pups running around in their nice new big backyard!! Beautiful fall day too!
Miley and Howie are the best way to start the day… and the new neighbors seem to be real cuties too, maybe you can have them over for a play date :) Happy Monday
Great !!! I love your new backyard and the house, of course! :D So pretty colors…
There is nothing – NOTHING – I love more than seeing pictures of dogs having fun and I simply adore Miley and Howie! And I hope the doggies next door will be invited over to join in the fun, once everybody settles in. I wish you all many, many years of happiness in your lovely new home.
“Howie not so much. Sometimes he gets lost :)” I think his ball is going to need GPS so he can find it in that huge yard. Sunset, sweet sunset. By far, my FAVORITE time of day. Happy Monday to all!!!
I am glad they are enjoying the new backyard so much! And they have new friends, too. Your golden hour photo is gorgeous.
Love,Love, Love I think Miley and Howie would make a wonderful children’s book series! I look forward to their posts!
Loved seeing the pups play in their beautiful back yard:)
Your sweet pups are what first drew me to your site, the many fabulous trips and photos and food I could go on and on have kept me. LOVE your new home, best of luck to ya’ll I hope it’s filled with family, friends, food and laughter (and dogs) for many years to come.
Your wonderful post made my day. So much devastation here on the eastcoast, our four-legged kids always brighten our day!!!
Love the pictures of Miley and Howie!! What are the dachshund’s names? It would be cute to see all four of them playing together!
Woo I bet they slept good after all that running! The neighbor puppies are SO cute!!
Always love the pics of Miley & Howie. Rescued a Boston back in May. He is one ball of energy. He loves to destroy his toys…went thru tennis balls, golf balls and a small soccer ball, but nothing was a tough as dear sweet Jack. Finally, found an indestructbile ball at Bed, Bath & Beyond just for dogs. They come in two sizes. Jack has the one about the size of a tennis ball. It is a hard resin-like ball. But best of all when he pounces on it, there’s a blinking light in it. Next to his nylabone, this is his absolute favorite. Plus Mom likes it because he hasn’t destroyed it. Check this item out, it may become your dogs favorite also. P. S. Love the new house!
When I first saw the photos of that enormous new backyard, I was picturing these photos, but of course the real thing is even better! Love those monsters of yours and your amazing photography skills!
love the pics and laugh with the “meeting” of the neighbors (vecinos) … Great pics.. please pray my dog NIÑO is very sick .. is a york terrier and his back legs are not working since a week ago :(

How much fun to see the puppies playing in their new, huge yard! And those neighbor doggies….SO cute the way the poked their furry faces through the fence. Thanks for a cheery, bouncy post to start the week, Amanda!
These pictures made me so happy – your dogs are adorable! I love the little dachshunds, too, looking longingly at their new friends. Too cute.
I have a boston terrier also who loves to romp and play after balls, frisbees, or anything that moves. He will be six next week and plays like a puppy. I moved from an apartment to house with large backyard just so that my little guy Charlie would have room to fetch. Please post more photos of your adorable Bostons. Your photos are excellent and capture the true playfulness of the breed. Anyone who is thinking about what kind of dog to have I vote for Bostons. They are great companion dogs who want to please their human friend in any way.

Beautiful photos!!!!
Your dog is seriously cute! :-) That tree is gorgeous with the red leaves!!
I have a question about the shelf with hooks and bench that you have pictures of in your last post from your previous home (in the foyer). I’m thinking about ordering that set and was wondering what you thought about the “sturdiness” of it.
Thanks so much! :)
Thanks Heather! We have had ours for almost 6 years and it has held up great. It’s a beautiful piece of furniture! It definitely does not look or feel cheaply made. I would say ours is extremely sturdy! I as not afraid to hang anything from the hooks, I loaded up the baskets and had pictures frames and candles on top. I would just say make sure it is securely installed on studs and you should be good to go! Hope this helps! :)
Thank you! :)
That red leafed tree is amazingly beautiful!
I love your blog posts! Especially dog related ones – I have a Dachshund and loved seeing your new neighbors! I think they will be digging their way over for play dates with your cute doggies!
I love these pictures, especially the one with that beautiful fall tree in the background! Miley and Howie must be in heaven. Isn’t it wonderful having a backyard? We just moved recently and now our dog, Kona, has a nice backyard to play in :)
Congratulations on your new home. I love the pictures of Miley and Howie. I would like to know what lens and setting did you use. I have a pup Max and would love pics like that of him. Thanks
Not too long ago, you posted some adorable photos of your new puppy “Louie”. How is he doing? I’d love to see how he has grown. Thanks!
Louie is actually my brother’s dog. M&H are looking forward to seeing their cousin over Thanksgiving in a couple of weeks ;)
Your Bostons are beautiful. There is no love like that from a Boston; I have a female. If one is willing to toss the ball my girl will fetch and fetch and fetch. Looks like yours will too.
LOVE that! Congrats on the new house! So fun :D
Love the pictures of your dogs! They look like they are having so much fun! Thank you for sharing!
These pictures are great!! I really want your camera. Do you mind if I ask what kind of camera you’re using? I’m sorry if there is already a post related to my question, but I just stumbled across you today while googling weightloss blogs. Your post from 2009 came up! Google never forgets!
How are your kitties adjusting to the new house? Where did Miley and Howie come from? Were they rescued or from a breeder? I’d love to get one so my Wheezie girl could have a brother!!!
You have beautiful dogs!! I have a boston that just turned 14!!!
Can’t wait to see pictures of Miley and Howie in the pool. My Boston’s love to swim. Look forward to more Miley & Howie adventures.
I love the last image with the crepuscular rays! Thanks for sharing :)
Hi Amanda! I’ve read that Boston Terriers do not shed. Miley and Howie are so much fun to watch. Anyway is this true about the shedding?
