Finding Posh in Blue Ridge, GA

Posh on Main, Blue Ridge, GA

Last weekend Kev and I were in Blue Ridge, GA for Labor Day. We packed up Miley & Howie, met up with some friends, and stayed in a cozy cabin right on the Tennessee Georgia state line. They brought their golden cocker spaniel Charlie, and the pups all had a grand time running around their new digs.

On Saturday afternoon, after getting completely drenched from white water rafting the Ocoee River that morning, we were ready to explore the town! We wandered in bakeries, sampled some seriously delicious pastries, and yes, even tried a surprisingly yummy fried Oreo. :D There was a little fudge shoppe with the most incredible cookies & cream fudge I’ve ever had. I brought some home with me, and it’s already gone. *weeps* We stopped by the coolest farmer’s market and apple orchard and loaded up on tons of homemade jams, syrups, and dressings.

Just before dinner I was browsing through a little gift shop trying to decide between the Hawaiian Coconut or Strawberry Shortcake candle (Oh, who am I kidding, you know I totally got both. Please send help.) when my friend literally runs in, grabs me by the arm and says “You have to see this store!!!”

I LOVE BLUERIDGE!!! The rentable cabins are so cute, cozy, and afordable! My Soldier and I took out chow chow up there during winter and she refused to stay inside. Just wanted to lay on the porch overlooking the mountains. I am so glad you got to see such a beautiful area in Georgia! My husband and I desperately wanted to buy a cabin after we left there. Did you see the Gnarly Bear store with all the Hatley stuff? SO cute!!!

I am from a little town outside of Atlanta. They use to have shops like that at Underground Atlanta. I haven’t been there in so long. I haven’t lived in Ga since I got married. Thats what you get for marrying some one in the military. But at least I live 15 mins from the beach. Since you are a big candle lover. You should try Scentsy. Its cheaper then candles, they last longer, you can get a warmer to match you decor in any room. They even have plug ins. The wax is made out of Paraffin wax. So it doesn’t get that hot. You can stick your fingers in the wax while its melted and it won’t burn you. The wax is reusable. We even have a recipe book. You can mix the scented wax with what ever the recipe calls for( only scented wax)and it really does smell like the recipe’s name is. I have done the recipe for sweet tea. OMG my house smelt like sweet tea but the scented wax it said to use didn’t smell nothing like sweet tea. LOL Check out the site http://brandyhill.scentsy.us . I use to be a candle lover. I would spend loads of money on candles. HAHAHA You should see the ceiling in my living room. Its black from where the candles was burning. It started turning all my dishes black. Since I quit using candles and went to scentsy I don’t have that problem. And I save money. A bar is 5.00 and it last over 80 hours. I have high rise ceiling in my living room. I have no idea how I am going to get up there and clean that thing. LOL

I just moved to the Alpharetta/Cumming area a couple of months ago, so I am very happy to see this stuff. We are always looking for things to explore and I think a trip to the apple orchard this fall and some shopping will be very good for the soul!!
Thanks for the super fun post!

What is the name of the fudge shop you stopped at? The link goes to a stone jewelry store.

That’s the place! :) They had a little bit of everything. Jewelry, purses, candles, soaps, jams & jellies, quilts, t-shirts… But the best was the fudge! :)

We recently took a day trip to Blue Ridge (about an hour from us). My Mom and I stumbled upon POSH and discovered it was only their 2nd day open. We loved it! Love the way the jewelry, etc was displayed…all very whimsical…and we both bought some really pretty jewelry. The owner was very friendly and we enjoyed chatting with her. I expect this shop will be around for a long….lovely!

Mercier is one of our must stop places when we visit the North Georgia Mountains in the fall. Hope that you tried one of their fried apple pies, apple cider doughnuts, or fresh cider.

oh my goodness! i’d give my eye tooth to go to this store! i have a watch similar to that, only now it’s a beautiful bangle bracelet. (mine has a round face and is pastel colors) it wasn’t working so i popped the watch parts out and replaced it with a picture of my grandson. thinking i’ll take that out in put in crystals.

We were actually there a few days ago and I fell in love with this shop! We also went to Paula’s consignment boutique(apparently a new location) and plan on going back to both…and the many many many surronding places that caught our eyes.

I know the owners Millie and Matt personally from Posh. I had just moved to BR right when they opened and I was practically begging to just even be their servant girl b/c I loved their retail so much. She has an incredible eye for fashion. Just the way she decorates and arranges her little shop is so totally Posh. The chandeliers gave it just the perfect touch. While business could have slowed up during those cold winter months with less visitors they have done really well for themselves because they brought in something so unique fashion cool …. you could get almost anyone a unique little piece there. She is starting to get in more clothes too. She got these amazing jeans in that are almost exactly like the miss me brand but half the price. The store rocks. And you will have such a fun experience browsing and drooling at everything, And you do suddenly find yourself like a kid again with all the sparkle and glam!!!!! Love it. Live it Go to it!!! ;) (you think I am obsessed much)

We were just up in BR in June. I visited POSH and purchased an adorable PEACE necklace for my nine year old daughter. She wears it daily and it reminds me how much we love visting Blue Ridge and enjoying the mountains. It is beautiful there and the residents are so lovely.
