You’re not nuts- I was thinking the same thing! 1/2 cup heaping scoop of cookies and cream ice cream!

  1. Sophia T

Amazing recipe! I have made it twice! I love that it is simple yet delicious. They are dangerous, and I cannot stop eating them!

  2. Gloria ULLOA

Yo soy de Chile y todo lo piblican en ingles que puedo hacer? Me gustan mucho las recetas pero es imposible

  3. Adella

I made these are they are probably the fudgiest brownies to ever come into EXISTENCE!! :D Mine might have been extra fudgy because I accidentally put in a heaping CUP of ice cream, not because I was trying to tweak your recipe but simply because I read it wrong! ;) I also made my own fudge sauce and topped the brownies with a whipped cream cheese frosting and a drizzle of the left over fudge sauce ;) I’m in heaven, what a delectable treat! Thanks for the stellar recipe ;) I so enjoy your blog! Blessings!

  4. Angi Arwood

My daughter and I have Celiac disease so I needed to make this gluten free. I used King Arthur gluten free brownie mix and Great Value (Walmart brand) Cocoa Sandwich cookies. Instead of cookies & cream ice cream, I used a GF fudge ripple. I followed the rest of the recipe as it is stated and used my square, cast-iron skillet to bake it in. Oh. Em. Geeeeee. Awesomeness on a plate!! Thanks for the starting point :)

  5. Charley Girl

These look AMAZING!!! I want to bake them right now!!!! I don’t have anymore ice cream..:(
What can I substitute for the ice cream??? Love your Recipes !!??

  6. shara

I tried so hard to make these… they were totally and completely raw in the middle. I even put them back in. What’s the trick? Totally bummed :(

  7. Louise

I have had deep fried Oreos and they are amazing. Now this? Oh my golly gosh! I need to make a treat for after my band concert, so there’s my excuse. And of course, my family would never forgive me if I didn’t also makes some for them, so it will be a double batch. They are in the oven now, and the house smells wonderful.

  8. JT

I am planning to make these for a friend’s birthday this weekend, but we are expecting close to 10 people. Any idea if the recipe can be altered at all to make brownies that are just as full in a 9 x 13 pan? I would hate to use the same recipe and have them be extra thin.

  9. Nazia

I love these brownies but I can’t seem to get them to come out right! They are always cooked on the edges, but mushy in the center. I’ve made them 4 different times with the same results. The first 3 times I used Ghiradelli Dark Choc brownie mix. The last time I used Duncan Hines Thick and Fudgy mix, thinking maybe it was the choc chips in the Ghiradelli mix that were the issue. I baked them for 45 minutes, as long as I could before the outer edges would burn. I used an 8×8 glass pan. Any ideas?

  10. Susan

Do you think you could use vanilla ice cream? I don’t have cookies and cream and my kids have allergies and that flavor is not safe. Also, I think it’s hysterical you used WW ice cream in this dessert!! Not gonna help! ;-)

    1. Amanda

Hi Jess! Hot Fudge is an ice cream topping, you can find it with other ice cream toppings near the ice cream section in the grocery store. Hope this helps!

  11. britt

These are so good!! I am having trbl telling the are done.. I thought they were done but when I cut into them they were really goey. Not sure if that’s the fudge or the under done brownies.. great recipe tho, I will definately save this recipe!!

  12. Tara

I am making these for Thanksgiving tomorrow! Can I make them tonight and bring them next day? I didn’t know because of the ice cream…..Help..

  13. manuela

hi! i really want to do this recipe..but i couldn’t find the smucker’s hot fudge, does anyone know if i could use nutella or something else?
    Thank you!!

  14. Jennifer S

I’m thinking that I used too much batter for the bottom half because mine didn’t turn out very well :( Tops of Oreos weren’t showing but it’s like they burnt. But they were way under-cooked using the brownie box directions and had to keep putting them back in. Bummer. Was soooo looking forward to them!

  15. oreoobsessed

Preheat to what temperature? I tried looking through the comments and I couldn’t find it anywhere. Thanks =o)

  16. Beth

    Hi Amanda,

I just saw your recipe on Pinterest for the Cookies ‘N Cream Oreo Fudge Brownies. Just a few questions…the recipe said to us a boxed brownie mix and a 8×8 pan and follow the box directions for oil and eggs. The brownie mix I have says it is for a 9×13 pan. Do I need to increase the amount of ice cream and hot fudge? Or, should I still use the 8×8 pan? Baking time?
I can’t wait to make them! Thanks for your help.
    Beth

  17. S.S.

Hey these look amazing! I have decided to bake them for my boyfriend when he comes home from college this weekend. :) He is a total brownie fiend. lol I don’t have the time or supplies to do a test run first though, so just a couple questions. :)

    1. Did you have any problem with them baking all the wa through because of the Oreos in the middle?
    2. Are these good left over/day old, or should they be warm?
    3. Any tips for sure success?

Brownies in general are pretty clutz proof but I would hate for them to go wrong when I’m in a crunch. lol Any help/advise would be wonderful. Thank you for this recipe!

  18. Melissa

Just tried this recipe and all of my Oreo cookies floated to the top! I will have to try again sometime and follow the recipe to a tee (I tend to take liberties, such as substituting coconut oil).

  19. Debbi

I’m making these now, can’t wait to eat them. One question though, it mentions chocolate chips but I don’t see them as one of the ingredients. Are they in this recipe?

  20. Carter

Would this recipe work the same without the ice cream [and possibly without the fudge] added to the brownie batter? Thanks, love your blog and your recipes are awesome!

  21. Jenn

I just made these today ! How gooey are they supposed to be? I baked mine for 37 minutes on 350 (the box said 35-38 minutes). Mine are quite gooey, and I am just hoping it’s thoroughly cooked…

  22. Amber

Hi! I realize this recipe was posted a few years back, but it still looks GREAT. The brownies are in my oven as we speak, but I have a question about storage. Do they need to be refrigerated (d/t the ice cream)? Or can they just sit out at room temperature overnight? I made them today for a party tomorrow……Thanks!

  23. Janet

Your picture of these was on theberry today (July 15, 2012) and I directed them to this site for the recipe. BTW Your ingredients list is missing the actual Oreos!

  24. Rebecca

I made this for a 4th of July party and they were a huge hit! I was thoroughly disappointed that you couldn’t really taste the oreo. It tasted like a regular fudgy brownie. bummed.

  25. K&A

The recipe brought me to your page, but the fact that your site is KevinandAmanda, which is me and my love, is what is keeping me coming back to this page. I’ll have to see if my Kevin likes this.

  26. Tiffany

Wow! I just made these and all I can say is WOW! Brilliant idea and sooo yummy! I used Ghirardelli dark choc brownie mix & the Häagen-Dazs I had in my fridge (because I somehow made it home w/o the cookies & cream I purchased ;( …and they were perfect! Thanks so much for the recipe!!!

  27. Laura Jane @ Recovering Chocoholic

These are in the oven right now! I had a major chocolate craving and had to have these. Since I’m counting calories, I went ahead and calculated the nutrition info. It turned out to be not quite as terrible as I feared. For one (note to self: that’s one serving not as much as you want to eat) serving if you cut them into 16 pieces it’s 333 calories or 9-10 PointsPlus.

  28. Brandi

Oh, and to add to BrownieBaker’s comment…. I disagree. I used double stuffed oreos and it turned out fine. The top layer of batter did barely cover the oreos, but once it baked you couldn’t tell.

  29. BrownieBaker

I love these awesome brownies. But note**do not used Doubled Stuffed Oreos. They are too thick, and there is not enough brownie batter to cover them completely!

  30. Julie

Oh. My. God. That is the most insanely ridiculously delicious looking thing I have ever seen in my entire life. My birthday is next week and I’m thinking I’m going to have to make 3 pans–one for karate class, one for my gal pals, and of course a whole pan for myself :) *faint*

  31. Ashley

OMG! I made these brownies last month and they are soooo delicious. They are really rich, so I can only eat one per sitting, but my boyfriend at two with the leftover ice cream and his roommate ate two or three, the night I made them. I’m so glad you posted this recipe!

  32. Christina

I plan to make these this weekend and am making up a grocery list!! You say above “Cookies and cream ice cream, chocolate chips and hot fudge…It all gets added to the brownie mix!” But you don’t have the chocolate chips on your list of ingredients afterwards. Do those chocolate chips come from the brownie mix? I’ve never really made brownies so I’m VERY new to this. Your feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! Very excited to make these for a church group!

  33. Ri Coelho

    Loved the recipe!
Unfortunately I live in Portugal so we don’t have those brownies mix available. Could you share any easy brownie recipe so I could make this one?

    Thanks :)

  34. Ashley

Made these tonight for a church event and they were a HUGE hit. . . SUCCESS!!! Would need to double the recipe next time. They were gone in seconds.

  35. D

These looked so good, I had to try them today. We will eat these tonight by the fireplace. I didn’t read the instructions and added water I hope the turn out ok. :-(

  36. Sydney

I made these for my boyfriend but I put even more crushed up oreos into the mix with chocolate chips and I used double stuff oreos. They were absolutely to die for when I served them hot out of the oven with a scoop of ice cream. Thank you so much for the recipe!

  37. DavetteB

gonna have to try these with the Mint Double Stuff cookies; no good cookies ‘n’ cream ice cream here – can it be done without it?

  38. April

Just made these today for a Christmas party and OH MY GOD they are sooooo good! Thanks for this great recipe – they will be made again (I even passed it on a couple friends).

  39. Vegan Version

I just put a vegan version of this into the oven. I am so excited to try them. Who knew Ghiradelli brownie mix out of the box was vegan! Thanks for the inspiration recipe!

    1. April

I’m vegetarian and know that marshmallows (unfortunately) aren’t part of a vegetarian diet. How did you modify the recipe for vegans/vegetarians?

  40. Penelope

Hi! This looks amazing and I’d love to make it for my friend who’s a cookie and creams fiend. Only she doesn’t eat eggs; do you know if it’s possible to recreate this recipe without eggs (or gelatin)? Dairy is fine. :] Thanks for sharing this.

  41. AU_GRAD2002

THANK YOU for posting this recipe! I can’t wait to make this for my family’s Thanksgiving dinner! I’m the little sister in the family, so obviously the siblings have low expectations out of me. I can’t wait to blow them away with this recipe!!!

  42. Erika

This look amazing, and I plan to make them for the holidays, but with all of the wonderfully fattening ingredients you have pictured, I have to say Weight Watchers Ice Cream? Really? :-)

  43. Naomi B.

I absolutely hate my friend who sent me the link for this blog!! I made the PB/Oreo IC Pie for my hubby’s b-day. I just made these for a meeting. These are SO GOOD. Moist and chocolatey and the oreo flavoring stands out!! Yummers!!

  46. Katie

I just tried these and used double stuff oreos and instead of cookies and cream ice cream which I didnt have I used moose tracks. :)

    They were delish!! :)

  47. Monica

Oh~My~Goodness!!! I’m sitting here reading this blog, salivating over the pictures…and can LITTERALLY smell the oreo cookies from the computer screen. Is this natural?? NATURALLY GOOD!!

  48. Cheryle

Hi Amanda! I tried these the other night, and they came out so-so. Looking at your picture, I know I did something wrong! Not sure if I overcooked them… or mixed the hot fudge too much into the mixture – I had no “hot fudge fudge-i-ness” separate from the brownie, as in your pic. :) Maybe I just used the wrong kind of brownie mix… I don’t know. But certainly going to keep trying! Any brownie is still a good brownie. lol

  49. Rachel

So you kinda just ruined what was supposed to be a month of not making anything utterly unhealthy! I can’t not make these!!! they just look way too good!!

  50. Amber

These are fantastorgasmic! I made these for my friends for our monthly dinner – warm out of the oven with vanilla bean ice cream – perfect! One piece is all you need because they are that rich. Creamy chocolate with the crunch of Oreo. Best. Brownies. Ever.

  51. Sara

Tried them! They turned into more of an oreo-brownie pudding, but they were really delicious. Great with some of the ice cream that I used too. :)

  52. Felicia

Made these last night, must say, they are decadent and delicious! Used Double Stuf, and then topped them with a homemade cookies and cream frosting. We will be making these again, most likely with the mint additions :)

  53. Sarah @ Handbags*N*Pigtails

I am in awe. Seriously these look so good I may have to make a run to the store. Who cares if its only 10 am?! These are a must have! I did an entire blog post on these babies and linked my followers here for the recipe and pics. Thanks so much for sharing!
    Sarah

  54. Wes

My girlfriend found this recipe last night and has a batch baking up in the oven for a pot luck we’re attending tonight. This outta be good!

  55. Kayli

I’ll be making this epic brownie explosion – but will be making the brownies from scratch, as I’ve got this killer Hershey’s recipe that’s become a house favorite. Can’t wait!

  56. Susan

How weird… I stumbled upon this and thought “why does my niece and her fiance have this website?” Of course, it was not them, but still pretty fun to see a site called kevinandamanda.com. I can’t look at these goodies! Keep them away! I’m on Weight Watchers.

  57. L

Hi this recipe looks amaaaazing and I plan to make these soon but I can’t actually get hot fudge topping in my town! Is there any way I could use fudge frosting as a substitute or would it be better to leave it out altogether? Thanks!

  58. Lindsey

I just made these, but used mint oreos and mint chocolate chip ice cream. They were amazing! Thanks for the recipe.

I am going to try peanut butter ones next!

  59. aspiring kennedy

holy freakamole. i’m not sure if we have c&c ice cream or hot fudge in england… but dang it, i’ll make my own to get my hands on these bad boys. yum!!

THANK YOU……THANK YOU! I made these brownies today and took them to my ladies poker league night tonight, and everyone went nuts over them! My hubby and dear daughter were hoping I would bring some back, but unfortunately I came home with a clean pan! I will have to make them again this week, just for them!

  65. Vanna

This is almost unfair, it looks sooooooooo good. How genius to combine cookies n’ cream ice cream and oreos (2 of my favorite things) My birthday is coming up, I can’t wait to make this.

  66. Amy C.

Sweet memories of Elvis! These look amazing and I can’t wait to try them!!! And I love the idea of using the orange Halloween Oreos or the Mint Oreos!!!! Yummmmmmmmm.

  67. Full Price? NEVER!

My Dad’s 2 favorite things are brownies and oreos… guess what I’ll be bringing him on his birthday next month???? Thanks for posting this! I’m so happy I found your blog!

  68. Samantha

I tried these and they turned out so good. Everybody that had them said they were the best brownies that they’d ever had. Oreo’s have several different flavors now like chocolate mint and peanut butter, I think they’d be good with those too along with the coordinating ice cream. I’ve tried several of your recipes and they always turn out delicious and I look forward to trying more. Keep the recipe posts coming. :)

  69. Floppy Latte Designs

Ok, I broke down and made these and OMG! I added white chocolate drizzle when they came out of the oven, just a touch mind you and that sent them right over the top! These are amazing, easy, and just plain delish. I can see making them in cupcake cups for an easy to handle snack with no slicing at all! You Rock!

  70. Ashlea

    Hey Amanda,

I check on your blog from time to time and I always know I can rely on your recipes to be delish and your ideas to be so inspiring!! I wanted to comment on these Oh-So-Yummy brownies and see if you tried them with the vanilla oreo’s. I know how much you are a blondies fan, and thought that would be a neat recipe…let me know if they come out good! Ashlea

  71. Denise aka Bear

OH Good Grief Charlie Brown! I am stuck in bed for the last 6 months and seriously have to watch what I eat so as not to put on weight. You guys are killing me……..LOLLLLLLLLL!

  72. Lennie

I made these brownies last night and everyone loved them! One of my friends said “best brownie EVER!” I think adding the hot fudge is the best part as it makes them so gooey! Thanks for the recipe!

  73. Nicole@Farmgirl Chaos

Um, yup! I will be making these for Supper Club on Monday night. But, I’m thinking it would be wise to do a trial run, to make sure they taste okay. :)

  74. Sharie Thompson

I had to stay home today…if I have to go into town….I am picking up the two things I don’t have and making this later!! My hubby will love them and he deserves a treat this week! Thanks.

  75. Becky

Does the weight watcher ice cream make this calorie friendly ???? LOL ;D Only in my dreams…..I’ll be dreaming of this dessert tonight. I may fix these for my halloween party. I wonder what I could do to decorate them halloweeny ? Any ideas ? ((( I had to laugh when I seen the ad right below your brownie recipe post about the Sonoma diet. ))) We will all need to go on that diet after eating these sweet babies. LOL.

    1. funwithnancy.blogspot.com

I have a suggestion, use the Holloween Oreo cookies. The ones with the orange filling. That would be cute!

  76. Amrita

Wow! These look so awesome! I think I would like to try the mint cream Oreo cookies with mint choco-chip ice cream or the peanut butter cream Oreos with banana ice cream!

  77. Sara Johnson

I am totally going to try these out this weekend when I can have sugar! But I think brownies made from scratch will hit the spot, I’ve had problems with brownie mixes!
Amanda…I have a chocolate cake recipe that you make from scratch if you want me to share it with you! It is so much better than a box cake…it is so moist! I am drooling just thinking about it!
    Thanks for sharing!

  78. MK

Girl, I swear I have to stop reading your site based on the awesome recipes alone…because I think I’m going to gain 100 pounds! Love it!

  79. ImAprilE

Oh my! I think I gained back the 5 lbs I lost! Of course you would put something so delicious on here AFTER I start a VERY strict low-fat diet! ;) I know I would switch out the veg oil with applesauce, but do you have any other suggestions? As always, thanks for the tips!

  80. Georgia Peach

We have been there many times but have never been lucky enough to find anything that beautiful inside – only breathtaking views outside. :o)
I feel like I could use a ice cold glass of milk just looking (and drooling) over the pictures!

  81. Kindel

Once I showed this to my husband, he practically shoved me out the door with money to go buy what we needed to make them! They are in the oven now and my house smells heavenly!!! MMMMmm!!!

  82. Karen in NOLA( kknola/Woof!)

    Y’all are killing me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just gained 5 pounds through the laptop screen AAAARRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!!

    Karen and the nola bt’S

  83. Tracie T

How long did you bake these for? The original recipe says 40-50 mins, but she also used a 9×13 dish and I could see that your’s was smaller.

    1. Amanda

Hi Tracie! I baked them for 40 mins. The back of the brownie box said 40-45 mins for a glass 8×8 baking dish, so I just did the shortest suggested time. :)

    2. ashley n

did you bake oreo’s with the brownies in the oven together? or just baked the brownies and put them on top of the layer of oreos when they were finished baking and in the cooling state? they look amazing!

  84. Kelyn George

Those look absolutely fantastic. If my hubby were more of a sweets fan I’d probably make them, but I would have to eat the whole pan! hehe

  85. Sara E

    LOVE this!!!!!!
Thanks so much for sharing! also thanks for reminding me to subscribe to Picky Palate… I really thought I did that earlier, but apparently I didn’t

have you ever checked out Crepes of Wrath? it’s another foodie blog by one of my old co-workers, Sydney… it’s a great one too

  88. Liz @ LBBakes

Yummm… I would love to try this with blondies and use the golden Oreo’s! Ohhh, just imagine using all the different oreo varieties!

  89. Heather

Oh my heavens! These look sinfully wonderful! I think I gained a few pounds just looking at your amazing photo’s.
My husband would love these, he’s a lover of all things oreo related.

  90. Tracy

O-R-E-Oh my! Mouth watering and deliciously fabulous photos… can’t wait to try this one! Love your recipe site. Have made several things and you haven’t done me wrong yet. (well, I made one embarrassing goof while making the pulled pork – but all turned out well).

  91. Cookbook Queen

First off, these look totally yummy. Ice cream? In the brownies? Total Heaven. My son is a brownie fiend, and he would love these!!

  92. Vanessa MacLeod

Oh my stinking heck. I think I need to put a bright red warning label on your blog in my feed reader, and to only read it when I’m not hungry, or at least when I’ve already eaten a healthy meal. The temptation to rush off and try to recreate treats like this is too great!

    They look INSANELY GOOD.

  93. shannon abdollmohammadi

You and Jenny have a way with ice cream and brownies….I would make the entire pan and eat it in one sitting…but good thing I am on a diet!!!

  94. Southern Gal

Oh.my.goodness. The first dessert my boys always ask for is brownies. Always. They love Oreos, too. I can’t wait to try this and surprise them. Today is my son’s 19th birthday. I’m seeing these for tonight! Thanks.
