On Wednesday, I wondered what would happen if you combined Oreo Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies with Oreo Stuffed Brownies.

On Thursday I found out.

And on Friday…

Ultimate-Chocolate-Chip-Cookie-n-Oreo-Fudge-Brownie-Bar-09

I had this.

This beautiful, ridiculous, indulgent, outrageous, illegal in 48 states, totally wonderful ultimate layered cookie and brownie treat.

Ultimate-Chocolate-Chip-Cookie-n-Oreo-Fudge-Brownie-Bar-10

It is without a doubt, completely and utterly insane.

But I mean that in a good way. Of course.

Ultimate-Chocolate-Chip-Cookie-n-Oreo-Fudge-Brownie-Bar-11

These dangerously decadent chocolate chip cookie ‘n brownie bars combine the best of a gooey chocolate chip cookie, warm fudgy brownie, and an extra sweet double stuffed Oreo.

Ultimate-Chocolate-Chip-Cookie-n-Oreo-Fudge-Brownie-Bar-01

All you need is a basic chocolate chip cookie recipe (using a little less flour than you normally would), some double stuffed Oreos, a family-sized brownie mix for a 9×13 pan, and some hot fudge chocolate topping for good measure. I like to add a little of this to a store-bought brownie mix for extra fudgy brownies. I’m all about the extras, baby.

Line a 9×13 baking dish with foil or parchment paper and spray with cooking spray. You don’t have to line it, but it sure makes it easier to get them out!

Whip up your cookie dough and spread it in the bottom of the pan.

Cover with Oreos…

And pour on plenty of fudgy brownie batter.

Pop this into a 350 degree oven for 45-55 minutes. Just look at those beautiful cookie and brownie layers already showing through.

Oh, baby. Come to mama.

Ultimate-Chocolate-Chip-Cookie-n-Oreo-Fudge-Brownie-Bar-08

Who wants cookies? Who wants Oreos? Who wants brownies??

Ultimate-Chocolate-Chip-Cookie-n-Oreo-Fudge-Brownie-Bar-13

I cut the rest into mini bite-sized squares and packed them up for Kevin to take to work, gotta get these outta my house!

Hope you enjoy this Friday treat, have a fabulous weekend!

Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookie n' Oreo Fudge Brownie Bar

Ingredients
Cookie Dough
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 Tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups (12 ounces) milk chocolate chips
Oreo
  • 1 pkg Double Stuffed Oreos
Brownie
  • 1 Family Size (9x13) Brownie mix + eggs and oil as called for on the back of the box
  • ¼ cup hot fudge topping
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a 9x13-inch baking dish with foil. Coat generously with nonstick cooking spray.
For the Cookie Dough
  1. Cream the butter and both sugars in a large bowl with an electric mixer on medium speed for 3-5 minutes. Add the eggs and vanilla and mix well to thoroughly combine. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda and salt, then slowly incorporate into the mixer until the flour is just combined. Stir in chocolate chips.
  2. Spread the cookie dough in the bottom of prepared pan. Top with a layer of Oreos. Mix together brownie mix according to directions, adding an optional ¼ cup of hot fudge topping to the mix. Pour the brownie batter over the cookie dough and Oreos. Bake at 350 degrees F for 45-55 minutes. Let cool completely before cutting. Brownies may still be gooey in the middle when still warm, but will set up perfectly once cooled. Enjoy!!
Notes
You can place the pan in the fridge to speed up the cooling process.

Feel free to use store-bought cookie dough to make this even easier!

Oh, my goodness! I might have to try this decadent recipe for my Memorial Day picnic! I looks and sounds delicious!!!

What, no nutritional info? Bwaaahaha! Wow, I expected the recipe to be a lot more difficult which means oh man, I might actually have to make these (darn). But now I suddenly feel the need to drink some milk! Thanks for sharing, this one is getting bookmarked for sure! :-)

Oh my goodness! These are so wrong on so many levels!!! But sooooooooo right! They look amazing. And sinful. And I can’t wait to try them! Any chance you could include your cookie dough recipe please? Thank you!

That looks absolutely delightful !! Now I will be dreaming about it all day at work! My hubby is an Oreo fanatic! I will have to try and make that for him.

Pretty sure I just agined ten lbs while looking at this recipe. Guess what I’m bringing to our next putlock….

this is so funny. as i am scrolling down, to leave a comment, it seems as if everyone is in awe just looking at the picture and recipe. girl, you have outdone yourself this time. i cannot wait to try this! i can taste chocolate just looking at this picture.

you are a crazy woman!!!!!!!!!!! lol these look AMAZING! and illegal for sure! it’s still morning and i’m craving this like crazy!! stunning.

You jut helped me figure out the “siinful” snack for the weekend. This looks absolutely amazing and like something that should be illegal. :~) ~A

how on earth did you even think of this recipe? are you prepared for the lawsuits that will come your way as we all gain weight and blame you? I think I will make this for my chocaholic husband as a surprise!

and, oh, the photos were great!

I’m trying hard to cut back on sugar! Amanda you’re killing me! Then again, I’d rather have lived a life tasting this deluxe recipe than having lived without!

Woah Mama! Please, please, please tell me that I live in one of the states that allows this kind of decadence!?!?! I’ll go out on a limb here and say that since I live in the city known for it’s “sin”…I’ll be ok trying this tantalizing treat!! Wow! My mouth is watering, and I’m starting to think the day might go downhill from here, diet wise, and I haven’t even had breakfast!
Thanks for sharing this “sinful” sweet!

Oh my lord! …….. I don’t think there’s a better recipe in the world, than the one you just posted!!! :) I’m fighting every urge I have – to sprint out to the kitchen – and duplicate your recipe for myself!! Only thing stopping me? Saturday morning is my WW weigh-in – and I’m shooting for a loss of 2.6 lbs this week – so, I can brag that I’ve lost the first 25 lbs. on my weight-loss journey! These sinful little treats will have to wait! ………

So these are “light” and fat free, right? :)

Omg the best things ever
choco chip cookie dough
oreos
brownie batter.

NICE!

And the choc drizzle shot over the top, love that!

I just went and right clicked all your photos b/c i know you have that setting/setup (thank you!!!) and saw what settings you kept things at for these shots. So helpful, thank you Amanda!

Good Grief! Now I have a whole ‘nother recipe I’m going to have to use for our Memorial Day cookout. Totally decadent and I LOVE IT!!!!

Oh Amanda!! I’ve never seen Temptation look thissssssss gooooood!!! Since merely looking at it raises my blood glucose levels, today I’m promising myself that I can only make this once I lose at least 15 more lbs! THAT will be some motivation! Thanks for sharing this!! *drooling like never before*

Did you make the brownie recipe as directed on the box or did you leave out the oil like you did in the other brownies…cookies and cream hot fudge brownies? Just curious…it does make a difference. :) I’d love to make these this weekend for my cookie monster…(I’m not talking about my two year old either) my email is harr3341@gmail.com
Thanks,
Heather

Hi Heather! I made these brownies just as directed on the box and also adding 1/4 cup hot fudge topping. Although if you wanted to make them like the cookies n’ cream brownies, with the ice cream as well, you could totally do that too! :) How insane would those be?? :)

I kinda want to lick the screen. Oh me oh my, I have to bring a dessert to a bbq tomorrow and I had a yummy healthy recipe in mind, but now….

All I could say when I read/saw this recipe was OMG! That’s what I’m gonna call them at my house OMG Brownies! I have a 12 year old son who has a sweet tooth like you wouldn’t believe and he is soooo gonna love his momma for these! Thank you for sharing!!!!

Oh Amanda, you have outdone yourself. My heavens, I almost fell off my chair, no really! What are you doing to me woman:-) We are in the middle of beach body work out (slim in 6 & p90x). Hubbie says to wait until we are done with the training, I don’t know if I have the will power to hold off for 6 weeks, you are my dessert queen! La, la, la la, can’t hear you honey, what? 90 days, nope have to have thisssssss! yum, yum, yum!

No these should be called Sinful Delight! That is what I am calling them. And I also know right where on my body they will land! :)
But I am making them T-O-D-A-Y!

Patricia,
I made these with the Mint Oreos and they are to die for! Took it to an outdoor concert with some friends and they all loved it.

My husband’s exact words:

“Get on that, Haynes.” ;)

Perfect timing, his family is in town and we were looking for a dessert for the BBQ :) :) Thanks!!!

Normally, would never be able to justify this, but it’s my BIRTHDAY!! I’m ready to indulge. Thanks for the recipe

My 19 year old son is home from college. I just showed him these pictures. He said ” I’ll go to the store and get the stuff if you can make those tonight!” I didn’t know he knew where the grocery store is! Can’t wait to try them, they look sooooo good!

Hi Amanda,
So I am new to the cooking blog world and fell in LOVE! Your site is amazing! I’ve made your cheeseburger flatbreads (huge hit!), Cheeseburger Chicken (so flavorful), Taco Ring (so pretty and delicous), and now your brownie bar (no words to describe)!!! We enjoyed your brownie bars so much, we put the kids in the car and took each of the grandparents one so they could try it. Thank you so much for your step by step directions and amazing pictures! You are an inspiration!

Hi! I would just like to say, thank you, thank you, thank you! This is confirmation of heaven. I have an open 24 hour Walmart that I will get to for the ingredients. So that I can indulge in this recipe all day tomorrow…today. It’s 1 AM already!

These look AMAZING and I can’t wait to make them!!! I am glad they are easy enough for me! :)
I have one question. Why did you use milk chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet? Do you think it wouldn’t taste right with the semi-sweet ones? I don’t want to ruin it by choosing the wrong kinda chip, but I love chocoloate chip cookies with semi-sweet chips. Either way I am sure they will be the most delicious thing I have ever put in my mouth! Thanks for sharing! :)

HOLY CANNOLI AMANDA, What are you trying to do to us??? These look sooooooooooooooooooooooooo good…. Guess that’s another one I’ll have to try on company this summer……YUMMY!!!! You are soooo BAD!!!! and we are soooooo GLAD…. hahahahaha

This is just SICK! LOL – I am going to the store this morning to to make them for a BBQ! I love the name OMG Brownies! :) I have several ideas for my own names for them, but they aren’t very ladylike! Love your website!

I was going to make your chocolate cake this weekend but now I might have to make these. Ugh, what a horrible decision! The best cake ever or the best brownies ever… or both? hmmm….

I wonder if you could make these with refrigerated cookie dough to save time (I know, I’m a lazy cheater.)

Did you use the ready made cookie dough? I was contemplating doing that too. I already bought some for Christmas ( tomorrow)….Happy Holidays!

I’ve been staring at this picture for 2 days now.
It will be mine.. Oh yes..

It will be mine.. (insert evil laughter here)
;)

Super duper yummers!!! Thanks for this recipe:) Gonna try it soon! Will put caramel on top instead of chocolate…..or maybe in addition……:)

OMG! I just opened this and told my husband he must go to the store tomorrow AM for the oreos. These look amazing. So excited to try them and take to a swim party…so bad for you but oh soooo good.

Just finished having more of my share of this chocolaty, yummy, scrumptious treat. Warning to others: make sure you have it with ice cream or whip cream and a large glass of ice water! So rich, but so good!

oh my sweet goodness, I’m swooning over here. brownies, chocolate chip cookies, and oreos are my three greatest passions in life. and together?! gaaaah. I need to try this ASAP.

Umm…. are you TRYING to give me a heart attack? These look SO good I could die! I don’t even care that it’s 11 at night… I have to make these RIGHT NOW! Thank you so much for sharing! {Squeals}

I just pulled a batch out of the oven and cannot wait to dig in! I’m so gonna have to bring these in to work to share the wealth (and so I’m not tempted to eat them all myself). Thanks for sharing!

I love following your website! you always have the coolest stuff. Also I wanted to say thanks so much for sharing all your amazing fonts!!!! They are so fun!!! Just a suggestion I was wondering if you could make a font that was like the opposites attract cricut font cartridge. You have some similar ones but really I guess I just love the backwords F and I think its just a really pretty font. But dont get me wrong I love all your other fonts I just was wondering. Thanks

these are so delicious they should be illegal! made them for a memorial day cookout today and everyone enjoyed them :) great idea!

omg brownies is what im gonna call them too lol thats an awesome name for them! btw how the heck do u stay so skinny! brat! :)

We did try the recipe, my daughter made them Sat night for a Sunday lunch, and then we had some left over for today’s Memorial Day picnic. Well everything everyone said in the comments was true, so true!!! They are fantastic, so delicious; everyone loved them. They are especially good, warm, yummo!!! Thanks, Amanda

Boy oh boy these look dangerous!!! But so yummy I might have to make them anyways and just pretend that I’m not expanding my waistline by the bite :) Great idea mixing those two recipes together – so creative and delicious!

OMG! as in oh my god! i’m drooling.. This really rocks! I will copy this one and try baking this. I hope I can get it perfect..Hoping to eat this brownie recipe now.. Perfect blog.

I made these Monday for a BBQ with friends. Let’s just say they were a hit and I was dubbed the dessert genius. I owe it to you my friend.

I made these last night. I mean, I had to. They are as sinful and delicious as they appear. So good, in fact, that I sent them to work with my husband today for fear of gaining 10 pounds from eating them all. They got rave reviews!

This looked so good I just had to make it. I made it over the weekend and it was as good as it looks!!!! SO YUMMY! Thanks so much, this recipe is a keeper;)

Made these….love them! They were a big hit at TWO bbq’s this weekend (yes that’s how many bars it made!) It took a lot longer than yours did though…1 1/2 hours for the 9×13 size pan. It was worth the wait and oh so yummy! Thanks!

I read your blog all the time, and i am wondering how you indulge in all the yummy treats and still manage to stay totally fit and cute!! :) I am jealous. Love love your blog, and your outfits.. basically everything!

After gaining 5 lbs just by looking at your pics, I made these on Sunday, and they were AMAZING!!!!! Love, love, love.

Wanted to let you know, the moment I saw this amazing dessert…I went right out to buy the oreos and baked the scrumptious goods. All I can say is, thank goodness the neighborhood boys were here to eat the whole pan! Otherwise, it would have been calling my name til every last bit was gone! :)

I made these last night for a baby shower pot-luck we had at work today – ridiculously, insanely good!!! They were gone in a flash, and people were raving about them nonstop… thanks for sharing!!

Wow!!!!!! This looks absolutely to die for!!!!! It contains each of my favorite treats all in one, I am so going to bake this for my family this weekend, thank you so much for sharing this beauty with us!!!! You ROCK!!!!!!!

I made these and brought them to a luncheon at work today! I got really good positive feedback… they didn’t get to eat them warm or with ice cream, but they still enjoyed gaining the ten pounds from each bite! lol Thanks for sharing the recipe!!

These brownies are in the oven right now–I’m giddy with anticipation of that first decadent bite!! Thanks for sharing this.

I made this yesterday but I cheated and used the “cookie dough tube”. I just let it soften so it would be easier to spread and press into the bottom of the pan. Tasted SO good and was mega easy.

OMG Amanda……..I think I popped a few buttons just reading this! lol
Looks and sounds AMAZING! I know I’m going to have to make this for my family!

My very first thought was insane! As in way delicious. Also, thinking about trying some marshmallow fluff over the Oreos. Just a wee bit :)

Amanda, these were wonderful! I printed off your recipe and left work early Monday to go home and make these in time for dinner… I forgot your recipe at work and decided just to use my own cookie dough recipe and the only thing I forgot was to add the hot fudge sauce in the brownie batter. So there it was sitting in the pan ready to be put in the oven, but missing the fudge. So I just scooped a bunch out of the jar, plopped it on top and swirled it as best as I could. They Came out sooooo nice! I did use an 11X15 pan cause I couldn’t find my 9X13, and they still are so thick! I will be making these and bringing them to my coworkers next week as well as to my next family bbq. Thanks for giving me a new killer recipe!

Good Heavens, when did you turn evil?

It can be the only explanation for posting this gorgeous recipe when I still have 40 pounds til my goal weight.

Once I hit that goal, though……I think I’ll have to make these to celebrate. ;)

I know I’m late to this party, but these awesome looking treats are in the oven as I type! Can’t wait to try them and share them with friends and coworkers!

I made these for a cook-out over the weekend, and people couldn’t stop talking about them!!! Next time I make them (which may be VERY soon) I plan to use the peanut butter Oreos instead of the double stuffed! As if they couldn’t be more over the top! Thanks for sharing the recipe!

This was the best dessert I have ever ate! I used summer oreos so there was a fun blue surprise in the middle! Thanks for sharing!

I’m not sure if I just had a heart-attack, or came a little… I suspect a little of both! These look soooooooooooo good and sooooooooooo delightfully trashy!

Sinfull. Creative. Stunning pics. The most yummy dessert i have seen in a year! I just showed the pics to my husband…he said:Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh……guess i need to go shopping tomorrow!

WOWZERS! These look A-MAZING! I found this via Pinterest & am planning on making them for my daughter’s birthday tomorrow! Hoping it’ll work with those instant tubes of cookie dough—I’ve got a busy day & not a lot of time for bakin’! Thanks so much for a fun treat!!

Dear god I just made these tonight and they BEYOND delicious!!! As a side note, I love your recipe for the chocolate chip cookies – they are delicious on their own. The only thing I tweaked was using Semi-Sweet chocolate chips since I’m not a big milk chocolate person and for the brownies I used a box of Ghiradelli Doubloe Chocolate Mix. I’m going to bring this batch into work tomorrow and then I am going to make these again for a BBQ on Saturday. THANK YOU for sharing!

Okay, I made this last night to bring to work for a birthday today. Haven’t tasted it yet but am sure it will be dee-lish!

One thing though: has anyone had issues using the wax paper as a liner? I did as your photos show, and lined the bottom and sides with wax paper, leaving an inch or two to help pull the dessert out when it’s done baking. About 10 minutes after putting it into the oven, I smelled something weird, opened the door, and out came a cloud of steamy smoke. I hurried to Google and found this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wax_paper. So I immediately cut off any protruding wax paper [while trying not to burn my fingers] and popped it back into the oven. All was fine after that.

Question: Would parchment paper work better, as it’s safer to bake with than wax paper? Maybe you should put a disclaimer on the recipe so another poor soul doesn’t burn down their kitchen as I almost did! :]

Thanks! Can’t wait to eat it this afternoon!

Oh. My. Goodness. That first picture loaded painfully slowly on my laptop, and every time a bit more revealed itself my jaw slowly dropped a bit more too. These really should be illegal, why create these in summer beach season whyyyy! You are an evil genius :)

We made this for a family BBQ on Sunday… Needless to say, it’s all gone. Next time we make it, we’re thinking of crushing the Oreos as a layer instead of whole cookies.

I made these last night but used Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups instead of Oreos….they are quite possibly the best bar I have ever had!

Saw this on Pinterest.com and am definitely going to make it. But I had to comment when I saw the picture of you two. War Eagle, Baby! haha Both my kids are there (daughter will be a junior this fall and my son just started grad school) and I’m making the cookie/oreo/brownie yumminess to take them when I go out this weekend. Thanks! :D

Wow this dessert is crazy!!! It definitely combines three of my favorite things, and given that I only have a few more weeks of being pregnant, I think I need to try making these brownies now while I still have a good excuse to indulge in such delicious desserts!

Oh my word, I found this on pinterest.com and just can’t stop looking at it…need.to.make.this!
I’m going to spend insane amounts of money at the expat/US food store here in London to recreate this for my birthday!
My hips thank you ;-)

Lauren : Girl you have now lost it ….. Your a crazy Person Certifide…….But Love You ….. Esp. When you come up with Goodies like this … I’m on Nutrisystem…Thanks.. LOVE YOU TO. ME/Deb

After seeing this recipe late one night I woke up dreaming about brownies so after the morning workout I felt deserving of THIS treat. OMG is to say the least. It was amazing! So amazing I had to packaged what’s left of it and drop it off to family and friends within hours because I know I can sit down and finish it off by the end of the weekend. Thanks so much for sharing! Love your blog!

Found this via pintrest. All my FAVORITE things in one! OMG! I’m on weight watchers and this is the last thing I need. But I’m def. gonna try it! Thankfully weightwatchers allows for moments like this! HA! It also helps I have a house full of boys so I’ll be lucky to get just one anyway. :) Thank the lord.

A friend sent this to me via facebook–for some reason they *know* I’ll make it. I I made it tonight. AUsome! yes, you read that right. War Eagle!

Made these today and they are AMAZING! Seriously the most deliciously decadent dessert I’ve made in a while. I have had way more than even my sweet tooth can handle and will need to give them away ASAP! Thank you for sharing such a treat!

I made these! Brought them to our family reunion. They didn’t last 30 min on the table!! A massive horde of teenage boys came through and they were GONE. They really are as sinful as they look! Amazing.

Found these back when I started pinning a month and a half ago, and hadn’t talked myself into gaining 20 lbs by making them until today. They’re currently in the oven now, with about 10 minutes left :) This was my first time using parchment paper, and let me tell you, I want it to be the last time. SO difficult to make stay in the baking dish, so they probably won’t turn out so pretty… but nonetheless, they smell DE-LISH.

I made these and was so sad they didn’t turn out. Did you use all of the cookie dough? My brownie mix (Betty Crocker) was still raw in spots. This is the first time I have made something that didn’t turn out as expected.

No fair. I have just started in on my second day of hCG and can’t have one for 6 weeks!! These look way too good. I will have to remember to make these when I am finally at my goal weight. Oh no then I will have to start all over again! :-{

oh my goodness! i think my eyes fell right out of my head when I saw your picture. i took a batch into work last week and they were immediately inhaled. i made some caramel sauce to go with them instead of fudge and they were just deadly delicious (www.cakestacks.blogspot.com)! thanks for the idea!

Quick question. Will the cookie dough be over-baked with that cooking time? I know brownies take longer to bake but I’m just wondering about the cookie dough?? Thanks for sharing-can’t wait to try it!!

I just made these for my apartment-mates and they (and I!) LOVED them!!!! I can’t believe haw easy they were to make and how incredibly delicious they were. Thank you for this awesome idea!!

These are in the oven and it’s seriously the longest 50 minutes of my life! My hubbs has been bugging me to make this all day after he saw the picture I “pinned” on pinterest!

SO EXCITED for them to come out of the oven!

These look so totally amazing! One question- how do you think they would fare as cupcakes? Without liners, I’m outta those, but want to make these that way

omg!! i just saw this on stumble upon…and i just died. it looks amazing! cant wait to try this!!! you guys rock for creating this

Finally found an excuse to make these for my son (snack duty). Baked them last night and cut them up in the morning … of course, I had to sample for breakfast :/ Unbelieveable!
A note for anyone who bakes these is to use a larger pan if you have one. The cooking time given was too short for the thickness of the bars. You can still get the layered effect (and a few more bars) if they are spread out a little thinner. They baked for over an hour to get the center to fully cooked with the suggested size pan. (Ended up throwing out bit of the edge because it overcooked and was like a rock.) Very yummy and will certainly have the wow factor when they are served!

Hi there Amanda
I was going to make this today to have for dessert at a friends tomorrow lunch time?? Do you serve it warm and if so can you heat it up in the microwave or…??? Also we can’t get double stuffed oreos in Australia (not that i can find) do you think that will matter much??
Thanks for your help … can you please email me your reply??
:) Sheena

I made this for choca-holic coworkers bday. EVERYONE loved it! I made an 11×15 pan, and it was nearly gone! (and there arent that many of us!!)

Just made these! OMG! Sooo good. So glad I’m packing them up so I can ship them off to friends so I’m not the only one enjoying this amazing-ness!! Thanks so much for the recipe!

I am making this for my 12 year old’s birthday! Would you bake it and serve it warm? Should I make it like 3 hours before serving? Thanks!!!!!

Ok. This is my new “hormone surprise”… That looks so amazing I am near tears right now. This will definitely be made in the VERY near future. You are a baker after my own heart.

These are amazing… The chocolate chip cookie recipe part is amazing by itself too! These have become a favorite around my house and with those we’ve shared them with!

im so confused, in your pictures it looks like there are 2 layers of everything, but it says nothing about that in your directions, i wanna make this as a surprise for my crushes birthday on wensday, id really love someones feedback

Gosh, I made these for a Game night I hosted saturday. Holly cow. This is deathly. I couldn’t find the oreos (which the store usually has) so I used double stuffed. They came out so amazing, but so dense…holllllyyyyy cow. DELISH!

I just made two batches of this at the same exact time. My house smells amazing. I was very focused and I rarely mess up a dessert recipe, but for some reason ONE batch appears perfect (haven’t cut into it to see if it’s goopey yet) and ONE batch seems to be a royal dud. The cookie batter “rose” to the surface. I have no idea where the brownie batter when. LOL! It seems like they blended. Should still taste decent. I will test taste it later and repost!!!! I truly hope they both taste remarkable because a lot of ingredients/money went into this. Maybe it didn’t help that my alost 3 year old twins helped me bake. LOL!

I just made this! Very good. I used my own favourite cookie and fudge brownie recipes.

I would recommend decreasing baking time. I over cooked it at around 45 minutes, I think 35 would have been sufficient and will do that next time.

Thanks!

This recipe has been popping up every time I use stumbleupon and it’s all over pinterest. So I HAD to try it. It’s baking in the oven now. Oh my. The entire house smells like chocolate! Just added your blog to my google reader. Thanks!

We girls at work were looking at this post and Good Lord, Girl…We are so getting some of these tomorrow ~Delicious piece of heaven~ I can’t wait!

I made these tonight…they were really good double layer brownies but I couldn’t really distinguish between the chocolate chip cookie and the brownie….maybe if I added peanut butter to the cookie layer.
These are like eat one two tops and your done for the night not for kids brownies. They were easy and fun to make and impressive looking….thanks!

Thank you both for this gorgeous recipe! In some curious state of mind, I took most of the brownies to the office, but after 1 hour all of them were gone…
Instead, lots of mails from my colleagues saying they were awesome. Lucky me, who kept some of these fabulous little things at home! ;o)
Nina

I am one of the few people to comment that actually made this recipe. It is absolutely divine! It did need the full 55 minutes in my oven because the mixture is so dense that it just needs extra cooking time even though I did not use the hot fudge. This sucker takes a LOOOOOOng time to cool as well and I would not recommend trying to cut into it until it has fully cooled, or else you will have a crumbly mess on your hands. Thanks so much for this sinful idea!

Just made this concoction… OMG! It was every bit as awesome as your photos say it is! A few minor adjustments – I only had a bag of peanut butter chips for the cookie dough base, so I used a caramel sauce on top with some whipped cream. It broke up the chocolate a bit (I’m really not a huge chocolate fan) and was just amazing. Thank you so very much! :)

Are we supposed to prepare the brownie mix as directed on the box before adding it to the pan? With the oil and the eggs? If so, can you add those to the list of ingredients?

So excited to make this for my boyfriends Bday! He is gonna LOVE it!! Epic! Instead of making the cookie dough I am just going to buy a roll to save on time. YAY!

A few days ago i was listening to the Rick and Bubba show, someone brought these brownies to the show. everyone was raveing about them. I knew i had to try them! thank you and thanks Rick and Bubba.

this looks amazing! I have milk chocolate brownie mix, regular stuffed oreos, and break and bake cookie dough on hand has anyone ever tried it using different ingredients? do you think it would work? i want to make now!!!! thanks so much!

I totally wanna make these for a dessert party this weekend. Do you think it would work with snickerdoodle cookie dough on the bottom instead?? Those are my favorite cokies.

I made these with a pouch of Betty Crocker cookie dough mix instead of scratch made, and they turned out great. My only problem was that even after cooking for 55 minutes, the areas of brownie batter that were in between the oreos were still raw and liquidy. I cooked them longer and it turned out fine, but by the time the brownie was completely cooked in the middle, it was overcooked around the edges. Still tasted great, but next time I think I would just cook for 55 minutes and not worry about some raw brownie batter.

Just an FYI – I just made this and it ended up being closer to 65 mins for me because the brownie batter just wouldn’t cook. I suggest setting it for 55 to start and then keep adding 5 mins with testing with a knife in between. Can’t wait to try it!!

OMG! I’ve been trying to cut down on sweets but that looks absolutely amazing! I think I just found the inspiration I was missing to drag myself to the kitchen… I found by the way that one of our users just pinned up one of those pictures to her Pinspire collection and I just wanted to check that this was okay with you. Don’t hesitate to get in touch for the link (masterpinspire@gmail.com)

Hi Amanda,
I am in the middle of baking these right now! I’m having a bit of a hard time though…I’ve had them in the oven for 55 minutes and the brownie part is just not cooking!!! I hope I don’t burn the crap out of the other parts by leaving them in longer…

Just curious….has anyone tried making these using a tube of store bought cookie dough instead of making it from scratch? Wondering if that might save a little time during this busy holiday season.

I made these last night (10:30pm) with a 30 oz tube of the refrigerated Pillsbury chocolate chip cookies and they came out FANTASTICALLY! I was short on time and the store bought stuff saved me a bunch of it. I followed all of Amanda’s other directions to the tee and it took about 52 minutes. I let them cool overnight and then I cut them into squares around the Oreos. After that, I cut them into triangles to show off the insides.
I really can’t wait to try them again with the original cookie dough recipe, but I’m going to need a gym membership first!
Amanda, my wife & I are eternally grateful for this sinfully delicious dish. We call it Delilah…we know it’s absolutely no good for us, but it’s just too irresistible.

So yummy! This is my second time making tonight! This time I am cooking the first layer of cookies a bit before before adding the brownie top. There was just a bit of the bottom cookie center that came out a little more underdone than the rest (edges get done perfectly) the first time I made (even kept in a little over an hour). It was still gone at our party in 20 minutes! Thanks for sharing!!! Love this!

I made these tonight…they were ruined – I’m very disappointed. The wax paper stuck to the bottom/sides of the brownies and wouldn’t peel off; it just shredded and continued to stick. I used Reynolds Wax Paper. Is wax paper single sided? Maybe I used the wrong side of the paper? Was I supposed to take off the paper immediately or let it cool then remove the paper?

Does anyone have any insight as to what the hell went wrong?

I was wondering about that when I was reading through the recipe. I googled & came across http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/346710 – inconclusive, I know. To be safe, I am planning to use parchment paper when I make these this weekend. Question – Did you have a layer of butter between the wax paper and cookie dough layer?

Another option is a decent nonstick pan either buttered or oiled with cooking spray would likely be just as safe. I prefer the lighter colored ones as the darker ones lend to more browning. Hope it works out for you the next time you try!

Amazing!! A friend of mine made these for Christmas and it was the best gift ever!! Delicious!! I can’t stop talking about them.. and so easy to make!!

I made this, and let me just say, AMAZING!!!! I didn’t use the wax paper, just sprayed the pan, and it came out just fine! Will definitely make again.

Just went to HyVee to purchase the Oreos, my husband is pouring the brownie batter over them now! This recipe looks delicious and I hope we are able to go to sleep after our evening treat! Soooo much chocolate! :) Thanks for sharing your creative ideas!

I was so excited to try this recipe last night and was extremely disappointed when it didnt turn out and had to throw the whole thing away. I followed the recipe exactly and I never mess up when I bake. Its what I do best. I was so upset bc like I said I was so excited to try this. Not sure what went wrong but the outside edge all the way around got rock hard the cookie layer burned and the inside never cooked. I may try it again one more time and try a different pan next time and turning down the temperature and cook longer hoping it will help.

Just made this with my 4 year old. It is simple, with easy preparation and clean up. Waiting for them to cool and I bet they will taste amazing.

Oh my gosh these were awesome! I am getting married and trying to lose weight, but when me and my fiance saw these we had to try, we call them “death of the wedding dress!” lol thanks for the recipe :)

this looks really really good but i made it the other night and not sure what happended but the cookie dough on the bottom over cooked because of leaving it in for 45 min and the oreo cookie cream was not left in the cook. this pic doesn’t pretray what it looks like when its done. the cream from the oreo melts and does not stay white, and in order for the brownie to get completely done just seems like not everything cooks evenly and couldn’t taste the oreo at all. might tiry again. it was really really dry!

How long do you think these would stay fresh for?
Say, if I wanted to send them to my girlfriend in New York, from Texas.
It would take 3 days.
Do you think they’ll still be fresh upon arrival?
Thanks!

oh my goodness.. I finally caved in and made these last night… amazing and the guys at the fire house LOVED them.

Will def be making for parties and meetings!

Thanks for the great recipe!

I just baked this recipe. It smells so good. Kids are excited to to have dessert after dinner. Hope it taste as good as it looks. Thanks for recipe.

ohhhh myyyyy goodness!! can’t wait to make these…they look sinfully fantastic!! i really enjoyed your vacation pics, your 4 legged babies pics & all the rest!! thanks for sharing… :o)

I made the brownies, cookie dough, AND fudge topping from scratch. Everything is in the oven as I type. I am on a strict diet, so I won’t be able to eat any of this yummy-looking dessert. I made it for my aunt for her birthday and because I wanted to make it. I love making desserts more than eating them haha. Yeah, I’m weird like that. Thanks for the recipe. I hope it turns out!

oh..dear lord..; That’s have to be heaven!!!
I wanna try this, but if I do… I’m going to eat the whole thing by myself…
Maybe I have to throw a party Ö!!!!

I was sooooo excited to make this. Went to the store, bought everything…made it, got distracted by the kids & added WAY TO MUCH WATER! Usually not a big deal, except whose the braniac that was out of flour to compensate for the water?! UGHHHH!!!!!! I’m afraid its going to be a big gooey mess!

I am making this right now, following directions and the brownie mix will not cook. I’ve had it in the oven for almost an hour and the toothpick still comes out gooey.

If there ever was such a thing as death by chocolate….this would have to be a great example of it….I’d be willing to risk it for sure….will have to try out soon!!!!!

I found your post on pinterest (I love that site) and made this tonight for dessert!! OMG! I am posting it on my blog tomorrow, and I came up with a new name (the name you have is a little long). I’m calling it A Diabetic’s Nightmare… thank you sooooo much for this!!!!

I am in the process of baking these right now! the only thing about them is that they take forever to make! I mean with baking the cookies and the brownie mixture and they take almost an hour to cook and with clean up! Holy cow! But hopefully they will be well worth the wait!! :)

Delicious. The outside bars were crispy and the inside gooey. So those that dare to eat got to choose which type they prefer. I used triple stuff Oreo’s and you get an additional layer of chocolate.

They are being tested at my husbands office today. Next time I think I will drizzle them with white chocolate. A chocolate lovers dream.

Soooo making this for MOPS ‘n DOPs tonight! HA!!!! Now I have them! lol See if I win the dessert contest with this baby! ha ha!

Are the oreos suppose to rise to the top when baking because mine did? I hope that doesn’t ruin the whole thing! I made it in an 8×8 pan.

Yum! These were seriously delicious–especially those extra chewy middle pieces. I delivered them to several friends and family members and they were a hit with everyone! Thanks for the recipe!

So I decided to make these for my aunt’s birthday instead of the typical cake since we have had so many birthdays in the past few weeks. The question is why did my oreos float to the top of the brownie batter while it was baking? What did I do wrong?

Wow! If you’re an Ooey gooey chocolate lover, this is your recipe. Made them and had family test them out before I plan to serve them at superbowl. So good. So very very good. I put a note not to eat the rest and I was the first to sneak two.

this is a level of chocotastic insanity I can’t even begin to comprehend……..absolutely HAVE to make these for my bday next week!!!!!! A 3-panner for sure; one pan for karate class, one for my gal pals and of course my own secret stash :D *faint*

This recipe has been sitting on one of my pinning boards for awhile now. Since the super bowl is tomorrow I decided it was time! Unfortunately, mine didn’t turn out perfect:( I had to cook them over an hour to get them even slightly set in the middle. There were still raw parts in the brownie batter and the outsides where hard. The parts we did eat are good. I have never had a recipe not turn out! If I try these again, I would definitely use a 11×13 to cut out the density of there brownies.

oh good Lord. I made these for my family just now…. so freaking good. Just maybe have to serve it with a side of tylenol to offset the headache ;) thank you so much for the recipe!!

Just wondering….I have this in the oven now…is it suppose to be a little bit undone?? I don’t want to over cook it and then it be very hard…..

I had the same problem…mine did not turn out as tall as what these pictures show. Did they put a few on top of each other? Everyone thought they were good…but they tasted like brownies…couldn’t taste the cookie dough.

My bottom turned out like yours….I was a bit disappointed…wonder what happened?

Thank you for sharing the recipe!!! I bought all of the ingredients and they are all sugar-free (a LITTLE better for me…). It baked the same and tastes wonderful with ice cream and hot fudge:)

These look like they will be so worth the calories! Can’t wait to make them with my daughter for some mother/daughter time. Thanks for sharing such a fun recipe!

I have these in the oven now–I used the boxed brownie mix and packaged cookie dough, and it took two boxes of the batter to cover all the cookies evenly. Oh well–can’t wait to see how they turn out!!!!!!!

I made this, I’m ashamed to admit. My punishment, aside from my heart racing for the past hour, was owning up to what I ate. So I did the math. I estimate a slice of this (1 of 24 pieces) has: 479 Calories 16g fat 35g sugar

Santa’s Suicide fo sho.

And it was divine!

Found this recipe on Pinterest and we made these last night. Used Pillsbury cookie dough instead of my own, took 2 tubes. Everything else was exactly the same as your recipe. These are WONDERFUL. Hubby loved them, kids loved them, huge hit. VERY sweet, but soooo good.

Used a 9×13 pan and everything fit wonderfully. To the ones that say yours wasn’t as thick as the picture, I’m THINKING that is 2 squares on top of each other. That is how I cut mine and put it on the plate and it looked EXACTLY like hers did. Mine was also gooey when I took them out, but set fine once it was cooled. Cooked it for the initial 30 minutes covered, then cooked for 20 minutes uncovered. PERFECTION, we will be making these again for ourselves and for dinners/parties. Thanks!

WOW!!! Made this for the office yesterday as a little Valentines Day treat and people went crazy!! Im still getting emails today about this snack!! What a crazy yummy recipe….. Thanks!!! :)

HELP!! I just made 2 of these and one came out gooey (not done) and one was burnt!!!! I followed the directions exactly!!!

I made these tonight! I did everything the same except I did not use a family size brownie mix. I baked them for 30 minutes covered, and 25 uncovered. I let them cool and when I went to cut them the cookie batter was still partly raw. I am not sure what I did wrong, I had to piece them back together in the pan and cook them for about 15-20 minutes and the very centers still look a little under cooked but much better then before. They taste amazing! They sadly don’t look as pretty as yours but man are they a chocolate lovers heaven! I am definitely going to try them again, any tips would be appreciated!

So… I was super excited about this recipe and couldn’t wait to try it. Unfortunately it was a complete and utter disaster :( I’m wondering if I did something wrong. They were still un-done in the middle. Even after 55 minutes at 350. Very undone. Any suggestions? I really want to give these another try!

I just made these… They are soooo good! I recommend though, if you use a premade cookie mix to add a little water and make the the butter is softened. Also, taping the wax paper to the pan makes spreading the cookie dough easier, because the wax paper doesn’t move around as much.

Oh dear sweet baby Jesus! I got the wifeee award of the month tonight for that dessert . It was yammers and be prepared “Got Milk.” Thank you and can’t wait to see more of your recipes! Im going to snuggle with the honey now ;)

Hi!
I tried to recreate these after seeing them on pinterest and following the link here. I’m usually really good at baking, and I followed all the directions. But something went wrong.

Horribly wrong.

I now have a big pile of bars with par-cooked brownie tops and burned coookie bottoms.

HELP!

O my goodgod!! I need to pick up 3 things at the store & I will have all the ingredients to make this should-be-illegal yumminess. I am going to try to resist;)

Oh. My. Goodness! I showed the pictures to my husband, and he said the only thing that could make this recipe better is a layer of peanut butter. This looks absolutely fantastic!

I’m making this for my husbands birthday because he’s not a cake fan. I may have to do double workouts for a week after I eat this! LOL!

Just found your website… am almost 5 months pregnant and needless to say, this recipe just gave me a MAJOR CRAVING. I MUST HAVE THESE NOW!!! :-)

Did you know that there is an English blogger trying to claim that she created this recipe? She’s renamed them ‘slutty brownies’. But her recipe post went up a month after yours.

Jessica Simpson was talking about them on Jay Leno the other day.

okay so no idea where i could have gone wrong, except for substituting baking soda for baking powder (a website said i can substitute it and just use twice the ingredient amount), but my “cookie” part was extremely cakey! :( it was nothing like a cookie, so much so that i refrained from saying its a cookie-oreo-brownie bar and just started calling it a yellow cake-oreo-brownie bar. any suggestions??
also in this part of the world, we dont get double stuffed oreos so had to make do with regular ones

I had been eyeing this for quite some time and finally made it tonight. I am not sure what I did wrong but my cookie part baked much faster then my brownie portion. My cookie portion was crunchy and hard and my brownie portion was perfect. Also the cookie part kind of came through the oreos and up over the brownie part in some areas. It kind of looked like a mess. It tastes good besides the crunchy cookie part. Help. What did I do wrong??? I followed the recipe to a T. =/ PS i love all your other recipes. :)

I made these last nite, really yummy but did not like the wax paper thing bc made them too hard to get out of pan.. they are hard enough to cut as is bc so goey.. also the middle section did not cook really( brownie mix) is this normal? I cooked them as long as you said to..thanks though will I am sure be a hit tonite at our bbq

I had this problem too. They were still yummy and I ate them anyway, but the brownie part didn’t cook all the way through even after an extra 10 min in the oven.

Made these yesterday with my 3-year old… not only are they to die for, but they are a great dessert to make with your kids. In any event — they were a HIT!! Amazing! Thank you!

Oh now, see… you’re killing me. But, I love it.

This is too sinful to be one dessert! This is my first time stopping by your blog. And I can tell you right now, it won’t be my last (time). But, hanging out with you could prove to be dangerous! How your “dessert-mind” works is insane. I would’ve never thought to combine (and layer!) these particular ingredients, like you did. You’re a bad influence.

I mean that in a good way!

I’m making two 8×8 pans of this now… One for home and one for the girls at work tomorrow… I hope I don’t over bake it! :/ I sooooo want this to turn out in all it’s delicious-ness!!

Made the last night! You would think, as a FACS teacher, I would read the entire recipe before making them…forgot the first 30 minutes covered with foil and they turned out awesome anyway. Thanks for the inspiration and fun blog.

I attempted this… Did no turn out the same way your pics look! The cookie rose too much and sunk all my oreos. I’m sure it’ll still taste delish though :)

My friend made it for his birthday.
Amazing, there are no other cake that could even barely touch the level of this one.
Thanks. I’m doing it myself for my girlfriend:)

I made these today, but was surprised when it took much longer than the 30 minutes to bake them. It actually took closer to an hour. I used a 9×13 pan. They look great, and I’m getting ready to cut them and plate them for my small group meeting. Thanks for such a great and easy recipe!

I stumbled upon this recipe and decided that it was the best idea ever. I made it yesterday using my own brownie and cookie recipes. My boyfriend loved it! Figured he would because, coincidentally, my name is Amanda and his name is Kevin.

Hi Kevin and Amanda,

I love your blog! The photography, the recipes- everything <3
Have you seen thelondoner.me? Rosie the author claims to have created these slutty brownies but it seems like she took them off your blog and renamed them. You should really do something about it if its true. Keep up the great work and dont let her take credit for your hard work.xx

This recipe is making me droolllll! I can’t wait to try it.
I’ve been trying to “Pin it” but it’s not working :(
Hope that gets fixed soon

I Just wanted to say thanks for all the great recipes!!! Ive made this one a few times and it is always a huuuuuuge hit!

Did anyone else have a problem with the brownies not baking in the middle? I baked an extra 10 minutes and even after cooling they still were wet and gooey. Didn’t mind it and still ate them, but was just curious. I’ve had this problem with layered brownies before and don’t know how to fix it. =/

I had the exact same problem. :( Unfortunately cooking it for even longer did nothing at all.

I’ve never baked before, and I was able to buy the ingredients AND make this while my wife was out for 4 hours. It was a perfect Mother’s Day present.
As you did, we ate a bit and I took the rest to work, where the response was tremendous. Thank you! Fantastic idea and documentation!

I’m a year late at seeing this but I found it on another blog and I fell in love the second I saw it. Unfortunately, I tried it last night and my brownie was so undercooked that I called it a loss. I tried keeping it in the oven a little longer to see if that would help, but it didn’t. Any clue what I could be doing wrong? I followed your recipe to a T. Maybe it’s my oven?

I’m sceered! Don’t even want to know the “nutrient” facts on these bites. But, I’m making them; sharing them; and enjoying them! Thanks for a fun and very cool recipe!

So I have it all ready to go into the oven but the aluminum foil. Got the foil out and there isn’t enough left to cover it and I have no way to get more tonight. I don’t know what to do????!!!!!

When I tried the cookie didn’t cook all the way through. Should I cook longer next time or will that ruin the whole thing ?

These look great! Could you use refrigerated chocolate chip cookie dough? I am all about the EASY!
Thanks

So I finally made these. I had found the recipe months ago, but I was pregnant and had gestational diabetes, so these were definitely out. Anyway, when I made them the cookie dough rose and sort of mixed with the brownie batter. It tasted good, like a brownie cookie, but I don’t know what went wrong. I baked it in a glass pan. My husband did notice that when he took the foil off, only a little bit of the cookie dough had risen to the top around the edges, but by the time I took the pan out 20 minutes later, it had all mixed.

I made this today for a family party, followed the reciepe exactly and for some reason it didn’t turn out flat and pretty like yours. It seemed like the brownie batter sunk in the middle and the cookie dough rose to the top. I have no clue what I did wrong.

i tried making it too before i went back to school for a treat for all my friends on the first day and the same thing happened to me.

These look incredible! Just thought I’d make you aware a British blogger is passing off this idea as her own, (she gave them the name Slutty Brownies) and actually has the cheek to moan if someone else blogs about them and doesn’t credit her blog as the source!

These were delicious, but mine didn’t get solid in the middle before they were overdone on the outside. Can you give a suggestion how to get the middle done?

OMG, thank you for sharing, but please tell me you do not bake with WAX paper, you should be using parchment for baking. The wax on wax paper melts off into your food in the oven. Not the best thing to consume . Please change the wording on your post and start using parchment!’
And thanks for the recipe, we made these and sinful is too tame a word!!!!

I just popped this in the oven! Looks and smells incredible! My tastebuds thank you… but not my jeans! Love your blog!!

Tried this recipe and it tastes like resturant made. Made it for a family gathering and it was a biiiiiig hit. Thanks a million for sharing such a wonderful recipe with us.

Ok, I just found your site today and I have already printed 3 really great ideas/food. I can’t wait to make these. My kids are going to go crazy.
I too don’t know how you stay so thin when you create these amazing treats. You have a fan in Oregon.

These are baking in the oven right now, for me to use as dessert for my friends and family that are helping us move this weekend….I’ll pass except for a small bite from my hubby’s because of the diet- not because I don’t want a whole one! I’m sure everyone will help us move at any time, just because of these!

I have made these now twice. The first time I made them the edges got a little over cooked but I still only came back from the party with 3 left. They were gone the next day (my 16yr old son consumed them like they were a major food group). I was asked to make them again so today I have made them again for my nieces birthday party. Huge hit. This time the edges aren’t so crunchy and I used the wax paper this time. Much easier with the wax paper to remove them from the pan and I put foil around the edges after about 35mins of cooking so the center could finish and the edges didn’t burn. LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS!!!! This has become a picnic/get together staple.

HI .. i cooked this for today it’s was so sweet .. look like the restaurants doing :p really thanx for the recipe .. i wait for what’s your new <3

I made it for my mom’s birth day. Absolutly horrible. ;0 Just kidding best thing in the universe. No wonder it’s illegal in so many places.

I’ve been eyeing these for over a month, and when i showed the recipe to my husband he wanted to know why I hadnt already made them, I JUST went out and bought some ingredients, though I cheated and bought the tube of cookie dough… I put them in the oven and I have 30 mins left on my timer, I’ll let ya know how they turn out! =) I’m sure homemade cookie dough would be better, but I found this more cost effective – so i’m experimenting.

OK, I baked mine covered, for 45 min, in a 13×9 metal pan… i used store bought Pillsbury cookie dough in the large tube ( i think it was 30 oz? ) and my cookie dough actually burned before the brownie mix could cook…. it wasnt black or anything, and it came out the pan just fine, but it smelled and tasted burned/scorched…. so, i have to say, store bought dough is probably not the way to do it…. I ended up throwing out almost the entire pan. it was a sad moment. anyone else have success with store bought dough? what kind of pan did you use? did you have to adjust the temp or cooking time?

A word of warning: a carton of double stuffed oreos is JUST ENOUGH to make one layer in a 9×13 pan. I found this out when my boyfriend and I pounced on the things, we were total fat kids and grabbed 4 EACH! And then I was making the oreo layer I quickly found out it wouldn’t be enough and had him run to the store to get more. Guess how many more fit? Yep… 8. And now we have an entire carton of oreos to ourselves, not good!!!

Oh, my goodness, all three of my favorite sweets in one dish, topped with ice cream and chocolate syrup, did I die and go to chocolate heaven. I am going to have to try these, thanks for the recipe.

I just made these for my family gathering and everyone loved them!! Made half with oreos in the middle and half with reeses for the peanut butter lovers. Both turned out great! Im going to try making a version with the brownies and reeses alone next.

I made these with Reese’s cups instead of oreo and had to bake a little longer. Though my oven could just be a little different. They were a huge hit at a potluck I hosted. Made some fresh whipped cream and chocolate shavings to top it off and it was a beauty. Thanks for the awesome recipe!

I made this over the weekend and it was an instant family HIT!!!!! Brother who is not a sweet lover gobbled half of the pan. Will be making it soon again.
This recipe is just pure Heaven.

09/04/12 made this recipe for our annual labor day pot luck and WOW what a hit. This is really the ultimate of bars recipe in the world..

Can you use packaged cookie dough? Or does it have to be from scratch!?! Also I’m planning on using Nutter Butter cookies in place of oreos and instead of drizzle of chocolate sauce use a PB sauce! Can’t wait to make this tomorrow!

Wow! This site is amazing! I came here solely for this ultimate triple decker fudge brownie bar but found lots more. I HAVE to make this brownie and if it all works out well I will feature it on my blog (credited to you of course). Love the free fonts too!! xx

Hi Amanda

I live in Denmark and i love baking! Months ago I stumbled by your website and this recipe – and knowing that i love cookies, oreos AND brownies I just HAD to try to bake this cake! I did it with a friend and when we took it out of the oven, sat at the table with each our piece of cake …. took a bite. No one said anything for minutes! This cake taste so wonderful! Since then I have baked it a lot – for special occasions and all my friends love it!

Its now known as the ‘God’-cake or the ‘Orgasm’-Cake and baking it is almost like a ritual.
Yesterday i made it for my birthday to my class in high school. And because of the reputation people couldnt wait to taste it – and were almost aggressive about the thought if they didnt get any?!

For the cake I use my favorite cookie recipe that i absolutely adore – and we dont have the double stuffed Oreos here in Denmark, but its alright. Its still taste fantastic :D

Thank you very much for this recipe! Me and my friends are grateful :)

OMG this is awesome! My hubby made this last night and it is soooo good. I thought at first it might be too rich, but it wasn’t and was just absolutely perfect. I enjoy a lot of your recipes. Thank you for sharing :)

Funny thing about this recipe. I made them and I was cutting them up, they started singing “I’m Sexy and I Know It.” They are a little full of themselves. I guess having a double-stuff oreo in your middle might do that to you. Anyway, I would like to repeat this recipe and put full-sized Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups in the middle instead of the oreos. That would be awesome!

Made these last night as part of a baking/candy spree. While they took about 15-20 minutes longer to bake, the smell while baking was wonderful! When I cut them to portion for giveaway, I was not thrilled. The taste? Okay but not amazing. You left out the best part … THESE ARE SO MUCH BETTER THE NEXT DAY!! One of my recipients asked “what’s in these? Crack? Because they are ADDICTING!” Yum!!!

Could you make these using a chocolate chip cookie mix instead of making the dough from scratch? Also, would they be good just as bars (without the hot fudge sauce and ice cream)?

I finally made these! Before making them, I tried to find an “I-made-these-and-here-was-my-experience” comment, because too many times, I have tried a Pinterest idea or recipe and it turned out awful. All the comments so far have been “I sooo need to make these”, which is what I said when I saw them! Anyways, I would like the opportunity to submit a helpful “I-made-these-and-here-was-my-experience” comment! :D

Here it is:
Let’s address it layer-by-layer. The “basic” chocolate chip cookie recipe was basic only in that it contained the basic ingredients needed for chocolate chip cookies…..but taste-wise, it wasn’t so basic….it was REALLY good! The instructions are to cream the butter and sugars together for 3-5 minutes, and I have never done that before….the result was a very fluffy cookie batter! The flavor was simple and delicious.
On to the Oreos. Their taste disappears among the milk chocolate chips in the cookie layer and the rich, fudgy chocolate taste of the brownie layer, which was VERY disappointing to me. In thinking about it later and trying to figure out how to get the taste to show up better, I have concluded that it’s impossible. Oreos just aren’t as strong of a flavor when sandwiched in between rich chocolate chip cookies and brownies! Oh well!
And there’s nothing bad to say about the brownie layer….it’s a boxed-mix brownie layer! :D

These bars get a 10 out of 10 for how easy they were to make…the directions were incredibly easy to follow, and my bars turned out EXACTLY as pictured. Not kidding, EXACTLY. I took them to a party that was themed “Pinterest-recipes”, and almost everyone instantly identified with the bars because they have been pinned so many times! So, what I’m saying is, you’ll get what’s promised! :)

So I guess the only slightly “negative” thing I have to say about this recipe is that I can’t taste the Oreos!! Maybe Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups would hold their own better?

Hope that was helpful!

yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HELL YA I WANT SOME OF THOSE!!!!!!!!!

My boyfriend saw me looking at this recipe and said “baby, I’m making that tomorrow”. Sure enough it was in the oven when I came home from work! Fabulous! We took the whole pan to the beach for the weekend and our friends went wild over them. My nieces thought we were the king and queen of brownie land!

Thank you for this recp. it has been a HUGE hit!! I am asked to make it at every function we attend.. kids friends even want is as birthday gifts.lol!

Amanda, Kevin, I just wanted to say thank you for this idea… I made these today. I was planning to make them for an event coming up. Wanted to test them first. They were a huge hit with the group of teens that I had try them.

I just tried this receipe and it is definitely good if you are craving chocolate! I was kind of hoping that the brownie batter would make the oreos softer though. Is there a way for that to happen? What if I soaked the oreos in milk before I add them in?

Ok…should not have lined pan with wax paper. It totally cooked up into the cookie. (Yes, I sprayed it with Pam). Wish I would have just sprayed pan only.

Hi Kevin n Amanda,
I made this recipe on Saturday December 1st for our cookie party for December 2nd 2012. They were a part of my dessert table. They were a HUGE hit with everyone. Wasn’t any left to bring home. The only thing I would change is cutting them when slightly warm. I have printed this recipe out for several people since Sunday. Also I will make again.
Thank you very much,
Sherry

Ive made this before and its absoluty AMAZING!! I decided to make it for a holiday treat party at work. I decided to make it more christmasy and used the Holiday Oreo’s with red cream filling and then topped the brownies with red and green M&M’s…. It was Delightfull and the hit of the party!!

OMG we just made this and got it out of the oven and it looks and smells amazing…I ma allergic to chocolate so having this will also include a trip to the ER but sooooo worth the reaction I will have from this chocolate goodness…

Wow! Just made these and they are so easy to make and delicious but SO rich! I am taking them to a meeting and I cut them into 1/2 inch squares!

I love your website, and this recipe…I made it for coworkers one day, and it was a HIT!
Just wanted to let you know that this photo is being used on BuzzFeed on a Valentine’s Day treat article, saying to make brownie sundaes. You aren’t given credit for the photo. Just an FYI.

It really would’ve been helpful to know what size package of Oreos. I bought what I would consider “normal” size (300 g) and only had 21 double stuffed Oreos – only enough to cover 2/3 of the 9 x 13 pan :( They’re in the oven now, so fingers crossed they’ll still turn out ok!

My son showed me a picture of this – the brownie mix being poured over the Oreos and chocolate chip cookie batter. He did not remember where he saw it but stated he wanted this for his upcoming birthday day instead of cake. So, I started Googling possible recipe names. OMJ – J is for Josh, my son. I found it! I may have to do a practice run first, can’t wait!

Oh. My. Goodness!! I just pulled a batch of these out of the oven… and they are DELICIOUS! Thanks so much for sharing the recipe! :)

making this today! found it a couple of weeks ago and knew my family would love this! also had -almost- all the ingredients anyways. it’ll be the perfect dessert to go with our Braised short ribs and spinach avocado salads (can’t have too much healthiness) thanks for the AMAZING idea =D

Is it really a tablespoon of vanilla or is that a misprint and you meant a teaspoon. Just didn’t want to put to much vanilla.. Thanks.

Everything made of oreo cookies has to take amazing. The fact that theres a mention of brownies in the recipe as well promises food heaven!

Hi! I made this recipe and it was amazing!!!!! I have a suggestion though: when I made these, they were a little too gooey for my liking. Some people love how gooey they are so you don’t have to consider it, but one of my friends made something like this but she made them in cupcake/muffin form! I am sure both of the recipes taste amazing but hers was a little more cooked. I don’t mean to make this comment negative in any way…just an idea!

I made these tonight and they are delicious! I used pre-made cookie dough (about 1 1/2 tubes), double stuff Oreos and family sized brownies (with no extra fudge sauce). I did not use waxed paper, but sprayed a glass dish and it was fine. The brownies came out easily. I might have baked them about 5 minutes too long uncovered. The cookie “crust” is not burnt exactly, but 5 minutes less might have been better. I did 30 minutes covered and I think 20 minutes uncovered. Not sure why some people have problems with their brownies not getting done all the way through…? Mine are fantastic!

Oh my goodness just looking at this makes my teeth hurt it looks amazing I am so gonna try this I’m just wondering though do you think it would work with the cookie dough mix?

Great looking food!
Amy’s Bakery Company, Scottsdale, AZ (as featured on the most recent edition of Kitchen Nightmares) are sadly in the habit of passing off other peoples’ hard work as their own, as a look through their photos on FB will show. Here is a link to the image they’ve used from your blog:

I’m surprised there aren’t more comments on this wonderful looking treat’s page. I was lead here from the horrific drama that is playing out with the criminals who stole this photo from you and posted it on their site as their own. I hope you prosecute the owners of Amy’s Baking Company to the fullest extent of the law.

I came here following the photo trail from ABC page – and I do have to say “Holy Cow” that looks amazing!

Just so you know, your photo was stolen and used on Facebook and Yelp by Amy’s Baking Company, the restaurant that was featured on Kitchen Nightmares and is caught in a social media firestorm for being so outrageous. If I were you, I’d send them a C&D!

I made two batches of these for birthdays for my class today. I used Pillsbury cookie dough, Pillsbury fudge brownies and double stuffed oreos. I only needed one pack of each thing for each batch so I’m not sure if there are different sizes to the oreos and the cookie dough but I just picked it up at Target and had no problems. I made mine in a glass pan with parchment paper. I followed what one commenter said (first 30 minutes covered and then 20 minutes uncovered). Mine needed a little longer. The first batch I went 15 minutes over which might have been a little too long and the second one 10 minutes over that. I will let everyone know how people like them tomorrow. But so far mine have turned out! AND LET THEM COOL BEFORE YOU CUT. I let them sit for an hour or more

AH! I’m so disappointed… I followed the directions, but my pan was too full. It took an extra thirty minutes to bake and the brownie sank to the bottom. What went wrong?

I have these in the oven right know to take to a neighbors fish fry tonight, I tried to make them a little healthier(LOL) by adding a rolo candy in the little space between the oreo’s in the oreo layer. and then will frost them with a dark chocolate frosting.

These are so yummy!!! I took the easy way out though and use the chocolate chip cookie dough mix that comes the pouches. :) I’ve also made them with peanut butter cups instead of oreos & they were a hit also. Such a great idea!! Love easy, fast & yummy recipes!!!

Hi, I found your recipe on Pinterest and made them for my BBQ this weekend. Just one question: how “gooey” should the brownie layer look when you pull them out of the oven? Mine looked really gooey after 20 minutes, so I left them in for another 5, then another 5, then another 3 before they were set. Also, the Oreos popped up to the surface. Any suggestions? (besides needing an oven thermometer)

I am disappointed cuz I followed directions exactly and the bars were overcooked. They did not need 30 mins covered and then 20 uncovered. If I make again I will bake for less time. Otherwise, yummy.

We made some of these, but tried it with a layer of marshmallow creme between the oreo and brownie mixture. It was delicious we served it with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sundae sauce. It was so easy and delicious!

I know this is an older post, but I pinned it recently on Pinterest and I HAVE to make it now. Question: Do you think I could just layer the bottom with those Nestle Tollhouse Break & Bake cookies, instead of making the cookies from scratch? I’m wondering if the end result would be the same. Thanks!

My kid is going to go crazy for this! Making today for his 10th birthday in 2 9inch rounds instead of a 9×13, iced with peanut butter frosting. I’m going to gain 5 lbs in a matter of minutes.

I just made this for my son’s 25th birthday! He doesn’t like cake, and is a huge cookie lover, so this ought to be great! I followed the recipe exactly even using the parchment paper in the glass pan and covering with foil half way. It was as easy as everyone expects, takes a lot of time to smooth the layers and make it perfect. I used Birthday Cake Oreos (they have sprinkles inside). The cake was timed perfectly, and came out perfectly. The brownie just covers the oreos, but it cooks up, so it makes a perfect cake! There is a crisp layer that forms on the top, oh my, delicious and perfect for the adult birthday cake! Thanks!

Great photos, tips, etc but DO NOT USE WAX PAPER…my recipe is in the oven right now and is smoking like crazy! Parchment paper or no paper at all! Fire hazard, smokes up the house and a wax flavor is left on the delicious treats…

Hi Amanda!
These look scrumptious! I make desserts for my volleyball team and they are going to die and go to chocolate heaven! Did I mention we play in a church league…..I just put these together soooo I will let you know if they throw me in jail for making something so illegal! (:

Hi! I made this DELICIOUS dessert three years ago and never did it again (don’t know why) and my family is still talking about it (indirectly telling me to make it again)… I think I will make their wishes come true and make it :p

PS: If you want to go to paradise, when serving warm your bar for 30 seconds, add a vanilla ice cream scoop (just like the photo) and add WARM chocolate topping AND caramel topping too.

Thanks for the post!

Hey! Love this recipe:) but how come the cookies on the bottom don’t burn even when you put them in for 45 minutes?

Hello! I have made these 2 times now and I can never get the middle to cook all the way. They are a ooey-gooey delicious mess. Any tips on getting them to cook all the way through? I have tried the covering in foil for 30 mins / uncovered for 20 mins.

-Thank you! :)

Hi Amanda,

Been wanting to drop you a line for the longest time. Thank you for this recipe! I made this for my boyfriend and he fell in love with me all over again. These bars are the best and they have all my favorite things – Oreos, chocolate chip cookie dough and brownies! :)

Jean xoxo

These look amazing…and a bit like a diabetic coma waiting to happen! =)

I’m so sorry the douchecanoes stole you recipe and your pic without permission. But rest assured there are people who are spreading the word that you are the original baker!

So totally Ohhhhh-my-gaaaaaawd!!!! Even when I’m not a chocoholic!!

Is there a way to make this without eggs? I’ve never baked, never made any cake ever, so I don’t know if I can skip the eggs or substitute them with something else. Greatly appreciate your reply :)

yes you can remove the eggs, but you need a replacement – applesauce. eggs raise the dough& give moisture to it, and so does applesauce! sorry i dont know any other replacements. ;p

I made these for my brother’s birthday instead of a traditional cake. I used my own brownie recipe and added cookie dough frosting…. heavenly! Thank you!

Unbelievably, The Londoner is STILL saying she invented these randomly, from ingredients she had in her cupboard! That’s despite tweeting one of your recipes mere days before she thought up *her* ‘slutty brownies’ (terrible name) all by herself.

I just made this and they looks so heavenly sinful! I baked mine for 50 minutes and I cooled it down for 5 hours. I didn’t have any parchment paper so I just brushed an oil on my baking pan, and it worked! I have no difficulties removing it after. I should have baked it for a few more minutes though because the brownie is too much gooey than I desired, but it’s ok.. better gooey than over cooked, right? ;) Overall, it is a must try recipe if you enjoy really sweet desserts of if you want to try something different and fun to do recipe. It’s definitely an eye catcher because of its layers. My only suggestion, you might want to make your own brownie so you can adjust its sweetness. I find it too sweet because of the combination of the brownie and oreos so I can’t have another piece after eating one.
