This Italian Meatball Tortellini is the perfect dinner recipe for lovers of spaghetti and meatballs. Saucy, cheesy, and full of fantastic meatballs!
Italian Meatball Tortellini
We seriously love this Italian Meatball Tortellini! It’s such a fun spin on the classic spaghetti and meatballs. Who can say no to saucy meatballs and cheesy tortellini?? :) This is one of those meals that I keep the ingredients for on hand at ALL times. It’s quick and easy, family-friendly, and everyone will love it!!
And it literally could not be easier to make. I love these frozen meatballs from Costco and always have some in my freezer. If you’d like to make your own meatballs to keep in the freezer, here is a great recipe.
I also use frozen tortellini so I can always have it on hand, but you could also use fresh here.
The only other things you’ll need are spaghetti sauce and chicken broth! And if you’re in a pinch, you could just use water instead of broth. But I like the extra flavor of the broth. :)
How to Make Italian Meatball Tortellini
First, start by cooking the meatballs according to the package directions.
Meanwhile, add the tomato sauce, broth, and tortellini to a skillet.
Bring to a boil, then cover, reduce heat to medium-low, and simmer for 8 minutes.
Add the cooked meatballs and salt and pepper to taste if desired. Stir to combine and simmer for an additional two minutes.
Remove to a plate or a wide bowl for serving.
You can garnish with a little basil…
And parmesan cheese on top if desired. :)
So, so good! We love this one. It’s definitely in our regular rotation. :) Hope you enjoy!!

My husband says it’s good, I haven’t tried it. I did need to add more tomato sauce and broth as it was getting dry. I used the Rana cheese tortelloni, which are excellent. Made my own meatballs, smaller than usual.
I made this tonight for my husband and 4 year old son, and they absolutely loved it. It was a quick and tasteful dinner. Thank you for sharing the recipe.
Amanda thank you for sharing this Italian Meatball Tortellini dish. It was absolutely amazing! I had Italian bread crumbs and defrosted ground beef with s small package of ground sausage in kitchen already so I made meatballs. But I will definitely purchase frozen meatballs to keep on hand since this dish was a hit! Served my family of 4 ( myself, husband, 2 adult sons) hearty helpings with leftovers for 1 or 2 people. Easy, fast, few ingredients and delicious! Everyone should try this and if you are a working mom you can fix this total meal in 30 min.
Love that you make the tortellini and sauce all in one pan!
Amanda, do you get the tortellini from Costco? I looked last night but could not find it. This looks so good. Thank you for sharing.
Hi Linda! Yes I got the tortellini pictured from Costco, but you can use regular fresh or frozen tortellini from the grocery store in this recipe. :) Hope this helps! :)
We always have a bag of frozen meatballs in our freezer! This looks like a definitely must make for our dinner!!! Love those tortellinis so much!!!
Tortellini is one of those things that is so dangerous for me. I can eat a whole bag, no joke. I love the idea to add meatballs for some extra filler and protein!!
Yum and so easy too. Thank you and have a good week!
Always on a watch for quick and easy recipes that are actually quick and easy! Thanks! Can’t wait to try it!
Perfect! I almost always have meatballs in my freezer, too!
I love easy recipes like this! They are great for those busy nights.
I love how simple this is! I know most recipes would call for a homemade sauce, but I love that you just ask for any spaghetti sauce. Good way to save time and give regular sauce and noodles a kick!
Simple, comforting dinners are just the best! Pass the plate, and extra Parm please :)
This looks delicious, thanks for sharing this recipe !
