Peanut Buttery Snap Crackle ‘n Pop Brownies

Peanut Butter Rice Krispy Treat Topped Brownies

Happy Friday, friends! So glad the weekend is almost here. If you are a fan of chewy, gooey, chocolaty and peanut buttery, you are going to love these peanut butter Rice Krispy treat topped brownies!

Peanut Butter Rice Krispy Treat Topped Brownies

These are so dangerously simple. It’s a soft and gooey brownie layer topped with a supremely chewy peanut butter Rice Krispy treat layer for an ultra chocolaty, ultra peanut buttery, ultra munchable brownie delight.

Peanut Butter Rice Krispy Treat Topped Brownies

To make, just prepare a batch of your favorite brownies – I used a box of Ghirardelli brownie mix – they are so wonderfully rich!

Peanut Butter Rice Krispy Treat Topped Brownies

And as soon as they come out of the oven, you can start your peanut butter Rice Krispy treats! Combine sugar and corn syrup in a heavy bottomed sauce pan (Sir Mix-a-Lot style) over high heat.

Peanut Butter Rice Krispy Treat Topped Brownies

When it comes to a boil, remove it from the heat…

Peanut Butter Rice Krispy Treat Topped Brownies

And add insanely indulgent amounts of peanut butter.

Peanut Butter Rice Krispy Treat Topped Brownies

Stir well.

Peanut Butter Rice Krispy Treat Topped Brownies

Now add your Rice Krispies to a big bowl…

Peanut Butter Rice Krispy Treat Topped Brownies

And pour on the peanut buttery goodness.

Peanut Butter Rice Krispy Treat Topped Brownies

Stir to combine…

And immediately press on top of the brownies.

Oh! Btw, I hardly ever, ever line my baking dishes with foil (I’m normally way to lazy to be bothered..), but you’ll probably want to for these. It’s really the only way to get them out so you can cut into these babies! :)

Peanut Butter Rice Krispy Treat Topped Brownies

That’s it!! Can you believe how quick and easy these went together? Definitely dangerous for such a delicious delight.

Peanut Butter Rice Krispy Treat Topped Brownies

Since I used an 8×8 brownie mix (instead of a 9×13 brownie mix) I had a little of the peanut butter krispy treats left over. Aww. What ever am I going to do?

I’m still wringing my hands with worry over that one. Snort.

Peanut Butter Rice Krispy Treat Topped Brownies

Peanut Buttery Snap Crackle ‘n Pop Brownies

1 box brownie mix, prepared in a foil-lined baking dish
1 cup sugar
1 cup light corn syrup
1 1/3 cups peanut butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 cups Rice Krispies

Prepare brownies in a foil-lined baking dish. Heat sugar and corn syrup in a heavy bottomed saucepan over high heat until mixture reaches a boil. Remove from heat. Stir in peanut butter and vanilla until smooth. Pour over rice krispies and stir to combine. Immediately press the peanut butter and rice krispies mixture over the brownies.

Enjoy!! :)

I make some brownies like these – the better-than-crack brownies. They are to die for. In my opinion, anything with chocolate and peanut butter is a lethal combination.

Just thought I would give you an another way to make the peanut butter rice krispies…just put the sugar, karo, and peanut butter in a bowl and microwave it for 1 minute and 30 seconds to 2 minutes. Then stir in the rice krispies. These are the only kind of rice krispies I make at my house!

I’ve made a similar recipe years ago. I think it had chocolate on top also, from melted choc. chips or something. I noticed the the jar of Smuckers ice cream topping in your ingredients pic, was that used in the brownies or did you put it on top of the bars after the last pic?! : )

Amanda, where do you come up with these things? So creative! Ghirardelli brownies are my favorite. They have just come out with a cake/cupcake mix…triple chocolate. It’s incredible. Here’s my review and more info about it if your interested. Perhaps you can turn the cake mix into something even more amazing! http://liliannagrace.blogspot.com/2010/11/menu-monday-millionaires-spinach-salad.html

Okay I just need some clarification before I indulge my husband and I with this wonderful treat….

Do you cook the brownies first, then layer it with the rice krispy treats? Or bake them together?

Thanks for sharing such delicious food and treats! :)

I’ve always been a snob about candles – you know, had to have the expensive ones – but now, thanks to you, I pick up a candle or two every time I go to Walmart and I’m loving them! Right now I have a hazelnut creme burning in my kitchen – yum! – and I love the mulling cider candle. Thanks!

I’m planning on making your Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cupcakes for Thanksgiving with the future Brother in law & his wife. :)
