Spring Things

Shopping for Spring

Oh my goodness, how cute are these owl measuring spoons? I’m in love! I am a bit obsessed with decorative measuring spoons — my collection is getting slightly embarrassing! But these were just too cute to pass up. I found these little guys at Pier One this weekend. Kevin and I went for a drive on Good Friday and managed to sneak in a little shopping as well. :) I was so excited about the fun new kitchen accessories Pier One has right now!

Shopping for Spring

Like these little veggie measuring spoons! Get out of town. That carrot just makes me smile. I will admit though, the measurements are nothing close to exact. The little 1/4 teaspoon chile pepper here is more like a entire teaspoon, lol! Oh well, I will just use these for vanilla, sugar, and all things where a little more is always better. :)

Shopping for Spring

Impulse register buy at Pier One. I’m always needing tissues!

Shopping for Spring

How fun is this chalkboard jar is from Anthropologie? I’ve got to think of something cute to write on it. And something fun to store inside! I got this in NYC from the Anthropologie at Rockefeller Center — which I could see from my hotel room, taunting me — when I was with the fabulous Shelly from Cookies and Cups.

(Fun spring plates are from Pier One.)

Shelly also took me to Fishes Eddy in Union Square. Oh my goodness, I could’ve spent my entire life savings there. This was all I was brave enough to risk flying back with me. Cutest little store ever. It’s like the kitchen section of Anthropologie, times a billion. Fortunately (unfortunately for my entire life savings) you can shop online. You guys should totally go bug Shelly and get her to post what all she got there. :)

Shopping for Spring

Picked up these fun paisley earrings at Target! I’m also slightly obsessed with dangly earrings, so I’m always happy to find cute ones for $6 :)

Oh. My. Gosh. Lastly, you must get to Old Navy and get some of these cute PJ pants!! I am dying over these little piggies. And you know I can’t resist cupcakes! And the little frenchies with bubblegum?? I die. I totally got these, even though they are actually men’s PJs. Biggest difference? The uh, longer inseam. Snort.

What have you bought for yourself lately? Had any good shopping finds? :)

*sneaky grin* Sooo… I /think/ I know why you snorted when you talked about the pj pants having a longer inseam. Right before I started college, I decided I wanted to be like all the cool kids and wear boxer shorts to bed instead of pjs. Since the boys’ boxer shorts were SO much cheaper than buying the ones meant for girls, I just picked the least manly set and bought those… Needless to say, I was quite surprised when I took them out of the package. And there was some sewing necessary before I could decently wear them…

    {If that didn’t make any sense at all, then I’ll feel silly– but honestly, /someone/ has to know what I’m talking about, right? *laughs*}

Thanks for sharing your recent purchases with us! I love the amount of color there is in almost everything you bought.

Did you know you can buy chalkboard stickers so you can make any glass or jar look like the chalkboard jar from Anthropologie? Cute for wine glasses too!
    I saw them on Etsy!

I love all your purchases! And I’m going to have to check out that store in Union Square. I have to say these days anything to do with the kitchen I could spend my entire life savings on, is this something that happens as we get older?

I just purchased an old 70’s sun tea jar on etsy and I can’t wait for it to get here. One of the memories of summer was having sun tea and I always loved it.

I have to say I really really love those veggie measuring spoons, do you think they can be displayed on the wall some how? Like you said, I don’t know if I’d actually use them!

I got those mason jars and I was 2 seconds from buying the chalkboard jar at Anthro! Instead I got the wing plate from there, raided Sur La Table and got 2 ceramic berry baskets (you can see the blue one on today’s Lemon Shake Up post) and a few linen napkins from the clearance section. If I had unlimited funds, I would probably bankrupt myself at Sur La Table and Anthro for sure!

Going to Old Navy TODAY! HOw cute are those pj pants?! And luckily for me there is a Pier One next door to Old Navy.

I should definitely post about my goodies from Fishes Eddy. I am already planning my next trip back! You need to get back up here!

I’ve been looking for a store that sells American made glassware and you have it in this post, Fishers Eddy. Love the cake plates too ! Thank you

Oh, can’t blame you, they are super cheerful! Thank God a little touch of fun can go a long way to brighten a chore , or make somenthing we like doing even more fun. Enjoy!

I am a HUGE Fishers Eddy fan. Their original store is out on the East end of Long Island and I shop there whenever I head out to the Hamptons or Montauk. The rest of the year I shop them online. They have good sales online, so keep your eye on the site and you might be able to find some treasure at a great price!

Thanks for the heads up about the PJ bottoms, I need some new ones and those are too cute! Also, really digging the chalkboard container from Anthropologie – I hope I can find it online!

Those measuring spoons from Pier One are adorable, and I am with you, who cares if they aren’t accurate, they’re cute! Seriously, Pier One has some great things and they always have reasonable prices.

Thanks for sharing your shopping trip with us. I have been spending on art supplies lately so I don’t think the post I would write would be nearly as exciting to most people! You inspired me to buy a Silloutte machine using the code from your blog! I prayed I would win during your anniversary/birthday sweepstakes, but when I didn’t I decided to get it myself. It was delivered today so I haven’t even gotten it out of the box yet, but I am sure I will love it. Can I email questions as I start with it?

Hope your Easter was lovely and that you are having a good week so far.

Love the chalkboard jar, so practical if you want to rotate ingredients. Write and erase!
