Pepperoni Pizza Pasta
My absolute favorite kind of meal is something that of course tastes to die for, but also something I can get on the table in less than 20 minutes and something that will mess up the least amount of dishes possible.
This Pepperoni Pizza Pasta is one of our new favorite quick and easy dinners. It’s done in 15 minutes and everything cooks in one pan, even the pasta. That means you only mess up ONE pan. That’s it! You don’t even have to boil the noodles first. It’s the perfect fast weeknight meal that everyone will love!
And OMG you guys this is the best part ever. When I calculated it up, I was completely shocked to learn that this cheesy, gooey pasta has LESS THAN 420 CALORIES PER SERVING!!! I had no idea because while I make a few healthy choices and use turkey sausage and reduced-fat cheese, I didn’t set out to make this a “diet” dinner. You would never know by the taste of this pasta. It is absolutely decadent and delicious!! :)
I made this pasta with pepperoni and sausage, but you could definitely add your own favorite pizza toppings.
Here’s all you’ll need. Pasta, pepperoni, shredded cheese, tomato sauce, sausage, and diced tomatoes.
I love the fun shape of campanelle pasta, but you could use any shape pasta here. Elbows, shells, penne, or rotini, would be great!
And I love using Jimmy Dean pre-cooked turkey sausage crumbles. It tastes just like regular breakfast sausage, but with WAY less fat and calories. If you can’t find this where you live, you can just use regular browned and drained breakfast sausage. You can still do it all in one pan! :)
Start with about 1/2 cup pepperoni slices…
And add them to a large, 12-inch skillet with 1 cup of sausage crumbles.
Next add the dry pasta, diced tomatoes, and tomato sauce.
I love these Basil, Garlic, and Oregano tomatoes. They’re perfectly seasoned and they come in a sauce. I’ve been known to heat them up and eat like tomato soup! I love them.
Finally, pour in 2 cups of water and stir to combine. Bring to a boil, then cover and reduce heat to medium / medium-low, and simmer for 15 minutes until the liquid is mostly absorbed.
Like so. If yours still has too much liquid after 15 minutes, you may want to increase the heat and cook for 5 more minutes or so.
Next top with shredded cheese and a few extras slices of pepperoni, or any of your other favorite toppings! :)
Place under the boiler in your oven and broil until browned and bubbly, about 3 minutes. (But keep a close eye on it!)
This is SUCH a quick and easy crowd-pleasing recipe!
Cheesy Pepperoni Pasta! :) Hope you enjoy!! :)
