I had so much fun making my first rag quilt, I immediately had to start another one! And I had *just* the project in mind. Several years ago I was browsing through a craft store when I came across printable fabric. Yes, printable fabric you put in your printer and print digital pictures from your computer onto it. I thought, “Well! If anybody needs printable fabric, it’s gotta be me.” I’ve been hoarding this fabric since 2004, waiting for just the right project to come along. And I have to say, this photo rag quilt was *perfect*!!! :)
Thanks for looking! :)
I love your photo rag quilts. How long do they take to make?
These r one of the most heart felt gifts u can give a loved one I made one about 5 years ago for my mom sent it in the mail for Christmas an my dad calls me an said I’m gonna whip ur butt I asked y he said I got home today an ur mom has been crying sense ups ran today I said y is she crying he said she has this big king size quilt draped across the extra bed an said that is where my babies an my mom an dad stays
An now she takes her little naps on the quilt nobody except me is allowed to touch it an when company is there she folds it neatly up an lays it in her cedar chest until they r gone
But he said she busted out crying when she opened the box an when I finally got home to c her she could do nothing but cry an tell me she had never had anything to touch her like that quilt so we both ended up crying I guess it has my granny papa an my sis on it which has past an it just really brought her loved ones back together for her
Amazing quilt!
I love patchwork :D I haven’t made a quilt yet but several recycled Jeans Patchwork Bags – check them out at http://www.etsy.com/shop/JeansNStuff?ref=si_shop !
Love the rag quilt. I work at a school and one of the teachers taught a class after hours to any staff that was interested. I do not sew but I gave it a try. It was easy and fun. I gave the quilt to my grandma for that year’s Christmas. She loved it. She has sense passed and I placed the quilt with her. I hope she’s enjoying it in the afterlife. I had forgotten about the rag quilts. Thanks for posting.
I LOVE THIS!!!! And your Blog!!!
I love the quilt and it will be on my list of new projects that I want to start right away. How long did it take and where can I find the Printable Photo Fabric.
I love this idea!!!!! I featured this project on my Friday Favorites on my blog!!!! Thanks for sharing!!!

I thought I was the only one to ponder this idea….I have my 8×10 photos and blocks ready to rag stitch together but i got cold feet….after googling and seeing yours, I think I might proceed, however, mine will have larger blocks and require stitching around the photos…alittle bit more involved…. I think i will hand stitch with clear thread around each image and then frame and rag stitch together….wish me luck ha ha
