We’ve been having such lovely end-of-summer weather this week. It’s been cool, bright, and breezy. It feels like fall! I’m loving it. Although down here in Alabama we’ve got at least a couple more months before we’ll officially experience fall, and it’s likely to turn right back to 90 degrees and sweltering any day now. Therefore, we are taking every advantage of this beautiful weather right now and the monsters (a.k.a. Miley and Howie) are having a ball!
Literally!
We bought one of those big bouncy balls — you know the ones in the giant metal cage right in the middle of the aisle – on a whim several years ago when Howie was just a puppy, just to see what Miley and Howie would do with one.
And oh my goodness.
They are absolutely obsessed with the things! They love it!
They chase it all over the backyard.
It’s their favorite toy ever. Just look at this happy girl!
They go crazy when we bring one into the house.
And if we try to hide it, they always somehow know!
Even if they never see it, they can sniff it out. Howie will stand by the door to the room where it’s hidden and stay there until we open the door and let him investigate! Just look at those crazy eyes!
He’s on a mission!
AHHH! I FOUND IT!
*SMOOSH*
This is what they do with one (after thoroughly chasing it all over the yard) …
Bounce!
Gross.
They’ll bounce it back and forth all over the yard, like little seals.
Attractive.
Where is it, Miley?
Oh, that crazy tongue.
It’s got a mind of it’s own!
Almost! There!
SNARF!
Sometimes Kevin will throw the ball realllly high and they’ll run all over the backyard waiting for it to bounce.
They’re looking!
There it is!
Rawr!
Of course no summer afternoon ends without a quick drink from the water hose.
Ahhh! Howie is so incredibly happy right now!
He’ll stand under the water and shake and shake and shake.
Then go back for more.
He loves water so much. Look at those obsessed eyes!!
CHOMP!
Happy Wednesday! :)

Your doggies are so sweet – thanks for sharing!
Love the dog days of summer… which for dog owners know that it’s the cool ones that count not the hot ones. Thanks for the fun dog photos!
Shocked that at the end they didn’t pop it.. Great pictures as always… Thanks
They are so cute! You take awesome pictures, Amanda! Thansk for sharing them. It was a fun way to wake up this morning!
Great series of photos – I love seeing these two in action. I bet they were worn out after playing.
Have you seen the Boston that has been all over the news this week playing with his red ball?! Twins! (well, triplets…but doesn’t really have the same sound to it! haha!)
Yeah, they’re back!!! Got my “M&H” fix for the day :)
What a great email to wake up to this morning! I love seeing pictures of Miley and Howie – their little faces and those wild tongues just crack me up. Thanks so much for sharing!
Great pictures for so early in the morning! I could photograph my dogs all day long they are so funny and photogenic. :)
Awww! So cute! You take really awesome pictures, Amanda! I love seeing the details – specks of water drops as the dogs run, even the saliva from Howie…. I wish I could take pictures just as good as yours!!! Have a great day! :)
Adorable!!!!! (you’ve got some great shots) WDE!!!!!
Amanda,
Howie & Miley are adorable! In the midwest we are FINALLY experiencing cooler weather also. We play frisbee with our boston, Buddy, and then he runs to our pool and lays on the first step cooling off in the water….he even has his very own raft! He may soon get a “cousin”, our daughter’s fiance` just bought a house (4 blocks from us!) And wants his own buddy! I am a dog lover but i am CRAZY for a boston……nothing like ‘em! Smooches to Howie & Miley!
I love all of you posts but I was missing a little Miley and Howie action. As usual they deliver!
Love this post! So cute!!
Thanks for making my Wednesday morning! Really great shots and I liked your commentary.
Feels like football weather here in Auburn. They’ve put the seats in the stadium. Just a few more weeks and it will be tailgating season!

WDE!
Love the one that looks like he’s blowing a bubble! The photo taken from the front ;)
Pure Joy! So much fun for an animal lover to see these two in action. Thanks for posting.
Great shots! What lens did you use and what were the camera settings, if you don’t mind me asking…
Hi Carla! You can click on any photo on Kevin & Amanda to see the camera, lens, and settings used to take the photo. :) Hope this helps!
Dog People Rock!
Aww that was so adorable, it put a smile on my face!! Great pics as always!!
OMG! I love it!!! We have 2 chihuahuas that have been loving this weather also. Dogs are sooooo much better in 2′s. When it comes to playing with toys our girl, Sable is all over it. Unfortunately, she doesn’t let our boy, Boogie play. She runs all over like a maniac to make sure it’s all about her! So Boogie is just our lover boy.
OMG! I love it!!! We have 2 chihuahuas that have been loving this weather also. Dogs are sooooo much better in 2′s.
Wow, I really need to get a big ball like that for my cockapoo! Great pics!
Thanks for the M & H photos! I have been missing them! They are soooo cute!
Amazing photos! Thanks for sharing more M and H adventures! Enjoy your cooler weather while it lasts. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!
Hi Amanda.
I have been a faithful reader for a long time now. I always enjoy your posts, whatever the topic. HOWEVER, when you feature Miley and Howie, I find myself smiling while reading the entire post. They are so precious, and I am so glad you share them with the rest of us! Thanks so much!
I love this so much! The “Smoosh” picture should be featured in a magazine or ad campaign or something! Precious. Thanks for sharing!
Amanda, your doggie photos are phenomenal! You are such a talented photographer…. I love looking at your pictures. This series of the dogs and the ball is great…. even without your words, the photos tell the story! You are AWESOME!
Great pics! You are so talented!!!!! Such an inspiration!!
I absolutely love the *Smoosh* picture!
That is so great! Love these pictures.
oh my gosh, these are priceless!
Your doggies are so cute! I wanted to ask you if you happen to watch America’s Got Talent this season? If so then you have seen the dog on there named Irving and Ventriloquist Todd Oliver. It is a hillarious act! When I saw the pictures of your dogs today it just reminded me of Irving…
Have a great day!
I loved looking at all of the photos. We have a boston terrier named Bubba and he would love to play with these two. He is highly obsessed with water hoses and it becomes a problem when watering our garden.
Fantastic Pics!
AND your grass is so Green!
Thanks for sharing
That’s it! I’m marching down to the nearest store and buying a bouncy ball and a kiddie pool for my two Bostons. So cute. Thanks for sharing.
ohmygosh they are so adorable!!! this makes me want to run to the store and get a ball for my pup to play with :)
I had such a good time going through all the pictures of Miley and Howie. I laughed and laughed because I could just see them running all over the place trying to catch that ball that’s bigger than they are. Great pics!!! Thanks for sharing.
I had so much fun reading that! It’s like I was there!
thank you – my mom’s going out to buy me one too now – can’t wait :)
the amount of slobber they produce is mind blowing :) they are so stinkin adorable though..I love those cuties
Such cuties!!!!
They are just too cute! Gotta ask, have they ever popped one? Just wondered!
Amazing photos. Those 2 sure do know how to have a blast on a hot summer day. Hugs, Becky
So cute! Oddly, that is like the only breed of dog that terrifies me. My neighbor had a Boston Terrier growing up that was the meanest dog ever, he would even bite his owners.
So happy you posted some pictures of the pups having fun as usual!! Missed seeing those smooshie faces!
Lovely pictures of your puppies! Adorable!
How do you manage taking blurry pictures and without shaking?
They are so lively and moving everywhere all the time!
Please could make a post with some tips about it???
Thanks for sharing this beautiful photos!
* Taking no blurry pictures or without shaking!
That is hilarious!! Your pups are amazing and so cute. Out fur children sure do provide hours of entertainment, don’t they??
haha! i can’t even handle this.
Your videos of Miley and Howie are so entertaining…….thanks for bringing a much needed smile to my face (:
I really love the one where you can see his mouth thru the ball
They are just too cute glad we got a pup blog :) Great pictures!!
I absolutely love the photos of the babies. As a dog owner, I am always trying to get good shots of my dogs and seeing your settings help tremendously. I have to share a link to my blog about my 2 of my cocker spaniels visiting the dog park for the first time. http://simplyphotographybykat.com/a-visit-to-the-dog-park/
I was originally drawn to your post because of Miley and Howie! I have just recently rescued my 2nd Boston. he’s a wild boy, so sweet! he’s ripped up every ball he has had in the past two months since coming to live with me. but I think I may have to go out and get him a bouncy ball!! thanks for the pics!
I love, love, love these pictures. You did such a terrific job of capturing their joy and play. I’m still new and I am taking a class, but it’s difficult to capture such quick action. Your pups look like they’re full of energy…they are darling. I would love it if you would join our Puppy Love Photo Party & Cats link up on Monday. Its’ once a month…just to share our love with other pet lovers. There’s a giveaway too for one partier … but the main thing is just to see fur babies. Anyway, these guys are so cute and you did an awesome job capturing it.
Yay!! So glad to see Miley & Howie. I miss them so much. What fun they are having. What fun I am having seeing them again. Boston’s are such fun. My 3 are so precious. I love them all and have been craving some Miley & Howie news. Thanks.
I can’t even begin to tell you how much I enjoyed these pics! Boston Terriers really are the best dogs!
Thanks for sharing all that wonderful BT fun!
Cheers!
Thanks so much for the HAPPY pics!! I love to watch dogs just get out and PLAY like that!
I just love me some Howie and Miley action!! They are awesome.
I love your Boston Terriers and is the main reason I have been following you. I also have a Boston and participate in agility in Louisiana. Presently looking for another agility dog instead of a Sheltie that all my friends are encouraging me to switch breeds. I know you have been successful in the past
agility trials and therefore am inquiring about a breeder that may breed for performance or just a good sound active Boston. Your response would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. My guy Charlie also goes crazy over bouncing balls of any type and water spouting from a hose. Bostons are so much fun!!!!
This is so. Epic. Thank you for sharing these, I absolutely love their crazy eyes! So cute!
That was awesome!
So cute! I think I will go find a big ball for my pups this weekend! I have a feeling that it wont last but a few minutes though, It will end up with a big hole and then plastic all over the back yard! Ha! But at least they will have fun!! I was just about to ask about the lens, as I am lens shopping now, then saw your reply about clicking on the photo. (GREAT!!) Wonderful pics of your pups!!
Jersie LOVES her ball too!!
Miley and Howie !! Ive missed seeing there action shots. They look like a poster of what summer fun is. thanks for sharing them.
Adorable! We also play “blue ball”. My youngest boston is OBSESSED but my oldest could care less :(
These pictures made my day! We have a French Bulldog that often has ‘her 5 minutes’ so I can imagine how two Boston Terriers are when going crazy!
Aw! These two are just too adorable! It always makes me laugh when pets obsess over the simple things! People are always spending ridiculous amounts of money on toys and all you need is a simple ball!! :)
They look like the best of friends. So precious!
Doggies! I love their crazy dog eyes. Fantastic shots. I can’t wait to get a house and some puppies to play with. :)
