Oh, wow, that’s super impressive! I’m a rib fan. I never make them myself, but I could if I had this handy-dandy smoker!

63
Scott October 22, 2010 at 9:17 am

I’d smoke a rack of ribs using applewood and hickory. I have a great rib rub recipe and bbq sauce recipe (on my blog). I currently use a Weber 22 inch charcoal grill to cook and it’s a little more difficult than smoking with an actual smoker. I cook with indirect heat/smoke but the heat is still to hot because there is not enough space in between the meat and the heat.

64
Sarah Nolan October 22, 2010 at 9:17 am

Oooh salmon for sure!!!!!!!!

I showed him the bacon doughnuts from your trip but he didn’t seem to think it would taste good. I think he would love it if he tried it. Who doesn’t love their bacon dipped in maple syrup?

196
Stef October 22, 2010 at 9:47 am

Hmm- I like your bacon idea :) I am sure i’d have no say in the matter- if I win this I am sure my BF will claim ownership in about 2 seconds flat- lol

I’d say the first BIG thing would be the Thanksgiving turkey. Not huge on turkey but I bet it would taste fantastic smoked in this thing. I’d for sure have to use it before Thanksgiving though so I’d say ribs, pulled pork, bacon, & Greek chicken would all have to be tried in preparation to make the moistest Turkey ever.

Two months ago I began a grain free sugar free diet to treat a medical condition I have called Psoriasis. The diet was a complete success. On this new diet I eat lots of veggies and protein. I really miss smoked bacon. Part of this new way of eating requires me to eat plenty of meat. However the meats have to unprocessed. No Nitrates! So , Wow winning this smoker would open up a whole new world on this diet! I’m crossing my fingers to win this giveaway.

The questions isssss, what would I NOT try in this thing? I had no idea that an electric smoker even existed – thank you so much for making me aware! We live in an apartment where charcoal and gas grills are prohibited, so this would be an AMAZING solution. I would probably throw some ribs in there first, but I have been wanting to try the pulled pork recipe for ages now. I would also use it to smoke a turkey for Thanksgiving! :)

482
Kim October 22, 2010 at 11:46 am

I think I’ll have to go with ribs also. But, as soon as those came out, I’d put something else in — because everything tastes delicious smoked!

Love your website – and was suprised you were in Huntsville. That’s where my family lives – I live in Atlanta, but visit frequently.
Maybe I’ll run into you one of these days when I’m there!

I would give it to my hubby for a gift. We’ve been together 11 years this month and we’ve had a rough year. Oh and I’d beg him to smoke a turkey. Smoked turkey salad is the best thing ever. Then he’d want to do your pulled pork. He’s been begging me for it since we finished it the first time I made it, lol.
