It’s the Silhouette Cameo…

Time’s up!

The winner of the Silhouette Cameo is:

#642 Caitlin

Congrats Caitlin! I’m so excited for you and your new bundle of joy. I’ve sent you an email!

Guys, I’ve got an awesome giveaway to share with you today. It’s the brand new 12-inch Silhouette CAMEO™ personal craft cutter. Like a printer, the Silhouette plugs into your computer with a USB cable. However, instead of printing it uses a small blade to cut paper, cardstock, vinyl, fabric and more.

The new CAMEO™ can now cut materials up to 12 inches wide! It comes with the software to create your own designs, and you can also cut out any font on your computer, including all the Kevin & Amanda Fonts! The Silhouette is Mac and PC friendly.

One Kevin & Amanda reader will win:

  • Silhouette electronic cutting tool
  • Silhouette Studio® software for Windows XP/Vista/7 and Mac® OS X 10.5.8 and higher

  • Power cable, USB cable
  • 12″ cutting mat
  • Cutting blade
  • $10 gift card to the Silhouette Online Store
  • Your choice of a starter kit (Fabric Ink, Vinyl, Heat Transfer, Rhinestone)

Check out some fun projects you can make right away with your starter kit:

2. Vinyl. Vinyl stickers on appliances? What a fun way to cheer up the laundry room!

3. Rhinestone. There are so many options for rhinestones, I love these cute pumpkins.

Check out Silhouette on Facebook and Pinterest for more great ideas!

Contest ends Saturday at 8 pm CST. One entry per person, please. This contest is open to US residents only. Winner will be selected by Random.org and announced here on Sunday.

34
Mindy October 25, 2011 at 4:41 am

I am not sure if this would answer your question, but I would take single photos of each person in my family (there are just 3 of us) and I would make a silhouette for each photo and then fill the silhouette with something fun.. either pretty pastels.. or a collage of some sort. Then I would frame each of us and hang the three on a wall together. I know that I might be able to do this without the machine, but the silhouette cameo would make it sooooooo much easier, and precise! so, I would make that. I hope I’ve inspired someone else do make this same project. You can make them as a family, and it can really be something to cherish for years to come.

I am looooving the heat transfer apron example so would HAVE to try those!

The number one reason I think I’d be so excited to have one of these awesome little machines, is because I make wooden wedding signs (www.SweetWeddingDetails.etsy.com) and right now I pay a lady that custom cuts each and every stenciled word (she has a Silhouette). It would be a huuuge time saver and I could whip up new ideas whenever I think of them instead of ordering, shipping, and waiting before I can start my latest crafting adventure :)

{{crossing my fingers!!}}

The first thing I would do is cut vinyl quotes and words for my walls. I have been wanting to do this since we first got our house two years ago and now that we finally have the rooms all set up and filled with furniture, I can finally do it!! There’s this amazing photo wall that I want to make with different words and different fonts but it can be so expensive to buy vinyl cuts!

What would I make first? If you read about my indecisiveness here (http://8050place.blogspot.com/2011/08/love-list.html) you will know that this is an extremely difficult question for me. I would have to say using the fabric ink for a shirt, sweater, or something like that. I can’t wait to try it, after I win of course. ;)

459
Teri Dingler October 25, 2011 at 8:28 am

I have so many bulletin board ideas for my 1st, 5th and 6th grade classes! I would have LOVED to make a pumpkin “reading” patch this year (where the kids write the title and author of books read on the pumpkin and place it on the board to watch the patch grow!) but the thought of cutting out all the pumpkins discouraged me! :p What a time (and hand!) saver this would be!

778

780
Ingrid October 25, 2011 at 10:25 am

Glass etching, too! I’ve done it once before, with a stencil I painfully cut out by hand. The wine glasses turned out awesome (they were “goodies” for a bachelorette party that involved a winery tasting stop), but having a machine to make the pattern would have made it so much quicker. If I had one I think I’d start customizing all sorts of glass products – glasses for our bar, a water pitcher, candle holders!

781
Mary W. October 25, 2011 at 10:26 am

Vinyl first.

Then the world!!!

782
