Many of you asked where we stayed in London, and since I loved our hotel so much, I thought I’d share it with you today! Here are some photos of our fun room. :)

We stayed at the Hotel Indigo Tower Hill in London.

There was plenty of space in the room and it was easily accessible to nearby public transportation. There was an underground entrance just one block up, and there was a bus stop right in front of the hotel. We got an Oyster Card and used public transportation to get around everywhere in London! It was so easy to use and figure out, especially with the Google Maps app. You just type in where you want to go, and it tells you exactly what bus or train to get on, where it is, and when to get off.

Since we changed rooms almost every single night in Scotland, it was nice to get to London and stay in the same place for 5 nights. It gave us a change to settle in and reorganize our suitcases! Loved all the open shelves right by the bed so we could unpack a bit.

The shelves in the bathroom were awesome for all of our toiletries. I loved the open shelves so we didn’t have to worry about forgetting anything in closed drawers.

It was a very futuristic Loo. ;)

This was our view out the window. We could just see the top of the Tower Bridge.

And here’s a map of everything we did in London, so you can see where everything was in relation to our hotel. The Hotel Indigo is the green icon on the right. We could’ve chosen a more central hotel, but we liked the more affordable price of the Hotel Indigo. ;)

The Indigo Tower Hill is a small, simple boutique style hotel, very few frills but smart with lovely staff and good size, well appointed rooms for couples.

What a cool room! The bathroom reminds me of the Jetsons or something. An unexpected twist. LOL

That app sounds awesome. I’m so looking into that, thanks!

Love this! I’m inspired to go back to London. I studied abroad there one summer in college and I really want to take my husband (who has never been overseas!) back to visit. NOW I have a great list of places to stay :)

Hi Amanda and Kevin … first of all Kevin … what a wonderful trip you planned for your beautiful wife Amanda!!! All my girl friends and I are soooooh jealous and wish our husbands were more like Kevin!!! (Can we have him cloned?:-D)
I have a question regarding the google maps app and if you needed to buy time, or whatever it is you need to buy to use your phone in London? I live in California and will be going to Paris, London, Russia and several other countries in July and would like to know more about this app. I’ve sent your blog link to our fellow travelers to see what sights you did in Paris and London. We’re going to try to follow in your footsteps, so thank you very much!

      Hi Lucy!

Thank you so much for your sweet comment! I have Verizon, and you can get a Global Data plan for $25 for 100MB. That will usually last me about 5 days. Whenever I am not actively using data on my phone, I always turn off cellular data or switch to airplane mode, so it’s not using any data in the background. The Google Maps app can also be used on WiFi, so you could look up directions from your hotel before you go, and you don’t need cellular data turned on for GPS to work, so you could technically just use it with WiFi if you knew everywhere you were going would have WiFi. I would take screenshots of the directions before leaving just in case though, lol! :) I know AT&T has a global data plan as well. Maybe check with your service provider and see what they offer? :)

      Hope this helps! :)
