Peanut Butter Pretzel Dip

A few years ago Kevin got me an awesome Christmas present. It was a gourmet peanut butter taste-testing collection with some seriously intriguing flavor combinations. There was chocolate peanut butter, butterscotch peanut butter, cinnamon peanut butter, and even basil peanut butter. But hands down, the BEST peanut butter I have ever tasted in my entire life was the White Chocolate Pretzel Peanut Butter. I have never had anything like it in my entire life. I’ve tried other “white chocolate peanut butters” but trust me, nothing could ever come close to this White Chocolate Pretzel Peanut Butter.

As much as I loved the White Chocolate Pretzel Peanut Butter, it was a little hard to get in Alabama. Shipping fees were expensive and you had to spend a minimum of $50. It was awesome for a one-time gift, but I needed more of that peanut butter in my life!!! There were also a couple of stores in California that sold it, but their hours were weird and unpredictable and the few times we were visiting and drove 2 hours out of the way to go there, they were either out or mysteriously closed when their website said they would be open.

Recently I heard the store finally went out of business. A little panicky that I would never be able to get that to-die-for peanut butter again, I decided now was the time to finally try to recreate it.

And you guys. I nailed it. It tastes EXACTLY like what I used to get. Of course this is terribly dangerous because now I can have this peanut butter in my house ALL THE TIME.

Process on high for 4 minutes or until smooth and combined.

Then add 2 cups of pretzels to the food processor. Pulse just a few times until the pretzels are chopped into about 1/4″ pieces, or until you have reached the desired texture of the peanut butter. I definitely leave mine a little crunchy with the pretzels. :)

How long is this good for? Do the pretzels ever get mushy? I’m really excited to try this recipe and I might make a bunch to give as gifts.

I am here also because of that damned tv show and I find this place went under! Great! But happy I found this, and I will try it out. Although I would think using plain peanuts might be good too to make it less sweet?

I so happy I saw this on TV/The Best Thing I Ever Ate. I absolutely will make this for my son and myself. We LUV THESE COMBINATION. Thanks for having this

I found your site and this recipe because I was searching to purchase the item Tyler Florence raved about. I made your recipe and it was truly delicious. Perfect spreading consistency initially. I stored it in a jar and the next day, could not spread it. I just eat it with a spoon and yum! But, wonder if anyone else had this problem and what I could do to get it spreadable again??

    1. Missie

I would guess that you can’t spread it because of the white chocolate chips. Try heating it ever so slightly.. just enough to loosen up the white chocolate again..

My suggestion would be to take a spoonful or two and put them in a micro safe dish, heat it 10 seconds at a time.. jgive it a stir and see if that helps.. Or you could keep your jar tightly closed and run it under hot water. just make sure it’s tightly closed so the water doesn’t ruin your peanut butter.

      Good luck!

I saw Tyler Florence eat this on The Best Thing I Ever ate, so I immediately went looking for the recipe. But the chef showed him cutting a vanilla bean and scraping that in. And he actually hand broke crunchy peanuts in half to add as texture with broken pretzels. Said it was tedious work but well worth it. Hope this helps .

I honestly wish I hadn’t read this. First of all, I could eat a whole jar of those peanuts in itself.. and the white chocolate… definitely a gone- er… then mixing those two with pretzels… I hate you ! ;-) JK i’m excited that this is 3 ingredients (that I usually have) and can make so soon! Thank you!!
