I Found My Handwriting Fonts in Budapest!!!

As you guys know, I love making unique, customized handwriting fonts — for free!!! I love seeing my fonts in use. Today I found them all the way in Budapest Hungary!!!

OMG. You guys. You will NEVER guess what happened to me in Budapest!!! We were walking down a pedestrian street near our hotel — actually one of the most beautiful pedestrian shopping streets in the world — ranked 7th out of 16 among shopping streets in Paris, Milan, and Amsterdam.

It’s renowned for it’s atmosphere and attractiveness, and is one of the most popular things to do in Budapest. It was right by our Budapest hotel, so we walked down this street multiple times a day.

I looked up at one of the many colorful outdoor cafe awnings lining the street, when to my complete shock I saw MY HANDWRITING. Like, my ACTUAL HANDWRITING on a restaurant awning in Budapest!!! How totally amazing is that??!

They had it on banners and signs all over the restaurant…

They even had a flat screen TV where the logo would occasionally pop up with my handwriting. See “The Italian Kitchen in Budapest”??! That’s my handwriting! You can download it for free here.

Earlier this year I took a “What Font Are You?” quiz on Buzzfeed and also got MY handwriting. So crazy!! I feel like I’m in an episode of The Twilight Zone!!

Then later at an outdoor market, I found magnets with another one of my free fonts! That funky font that says “Budapest” is another font I made, Rebekah’s Birthday. So fun! I love seeing my fonts pop up all over the world! :)

    Dear Amanda!

Few years ago I was addicted to yout website/blog :) As the time passed I realized that how much I missed your blog and i started to read your posts again. You can’t imagine how happy I was when I saw that you were in Budapest…because I live in Hungary :) The pictures you have made are so stunning that they made me feel that actually i live in a nice country. I really hope that one day you will visit Budapest again.

Ps. Don’t be surprised that your fonts are international…because they are incredible. To be honest I downloaded all of them. If I were you I would make a copyright to all of them or sell them to Google to earn money and I think the whole world would know your name sooner or later ;)

    Kisses

I love Budapest, your pictures are making me want to go back for a summer visit (we stayed there for 6 weeks when we were adopting our son exactly 7 years ago…in winter though, when everything fun shut down and it was COLD!). Another place worth visiting was the terror museum which chronicles both Nazi and Soviet occupations. Very sobering, but gives great perspective on all that Hungary has had to endure. It’s a beautiful culture. :)

Too fun!! I just took the font quiz and while I didn’t end up with your handwriting, it’s definitely another one of your fonts.

Omg! That’s so cool! I feel like that’s happened to you a few times now (“finding” one of your fonts somewhere.) Didn’t you spot another one on a mug somewhere once?
    That’s really awesome!!

Amazing sights! I wish My mother-in-law were still alive to tell me where she worked in Budapest before she imigrated through Ellis Is. when she was 21 back in 1929. She was born in Papa, Hungary.

I totally forgot about seeing your font. That was SO cool!

The photos from the top of St. Stephens are amazing!! That last trip up was totally worth it.

    Dear Kevin,
I live in USA but I am originally from Slovakia very close to Budapest. I am so happy for you that people all over the world are using your fonts. I am graphic designer and have used your handwritten collection already at least on 5 projects. Keep up the good work and give us more handwritten fonts. If I may request sometime I am missing handwritten font which is slanted to the right….it is more “EURO ” : )
