Sublime.

sublime doughnuts atlanta-01

Last May when I was Atlanta for BlogHer Food (photos here) Jenny and I stopped by Sublime, an incredibly cute little doughnut shop. Sublime had so many fun doughnuts that day — Nutella, Dulce de Leche, Boston Creme Pie, and Red Velvet just to name a few — we grabbed a big box and brought them back to our hotel room early one morning. I sent out a tweet to our blogging friends at BlogHer and told them to get up to our room for some treats!

We had plenty to share, like this crushed Butterfinger topped doughnut.

And this chocolate Wild Berry fritter. Or the chocolate Nestle Crunch doughnut.

Our favorite was The Elvis. This was a banana filled doughnut topped with chocolate and peanut butter. Definitely the highlight of the day!

Here’s a S’mores doughnut and a Butter Toffee doughnut with chocolate caramel icing. Love.

Oreo doughnut. This one was not only topped with Oreos, but also had a cookies and cream doughnut batter.

With a surprise inside. The sweet, fluffy filling tasted just like the middle of an Oreo. With a way more satisfying filling-to-cookie ratio.

Next week I’ll have some more doughnuts to share with you. I was in Portland, Oregon on Wednesday and stopped in this seriously fun doughnut shop. I absolutely loved it.

Here’s the info on Sublime. Have a great weekend!!

Let me guess…. Voodoo Doughnuts?!?! I am from Portland and it’s definitely the most infamous doughnut place around. I love the maple bacon bar and the ODB! So good.

Have you ever visited VooDoo Doughnuts in Portland, OR? They have two locations, and often have lines around the block. Some of my favorites are the Bacon Maple Bar, and the Memphis Mafia, which features banana chunks and cinnamon sugar covered in a glaze with chocolate frosting, peanut butter, peanuts and chocolate chips on top!
Check them out at http://www.voodoodoughnuts.com!

Sorry, I kind of blacked out after Nutella. Then I came to and saw the Elvis donut. Passed out again. Then saw the Toffee Caramel and decided I should just read the rest of the post on the floor to minimize the risk of concussion.

Those look fantastic! Funny that I didn’t end up going to a doughnut shop on my San Francisco birthday bakery crawl. :) I enjoyed reading about your crawl through San Diego. If you want to read a little about the bakeries of San Fran stop by my blog. Next time I will remember the doughnuts! :)

I’ll take the Elvis one, please. I’ll definitely look that place up the next time I get to Atlanta. We just returned from vacation. A tradition on vacation is to have doughnuts one morning. We never get doughnuts until our beach vacation. Makes us appreciate them more that way. I’ll have to break that tradition when I get to Atlanta!

I fortunately/unfortunately live about ten minutes from Sublime. To call these little morsels from heaven doughnuts just doesn’t do them justice. I want to marry Kamal as he is a doughnut genius! You missed out on some of my favorites: strawberries and cream, orange dreamsicle and the most incredible glazed croissants. Drats – - it’s Monday and they’re closed today!

Amanda, I think I know what you little “bell” is. If you look to your left under the shower head there is another silver thingamajig. That one to the right that looks like a bell is actually a clothes line. If you pull it out a string comes with it and you hook it into the thing on the left and you can hang your swimsuit, etc. to drip dry. Now I’m going back to look at all the doughnuts. lol

I LOVE Sublime! I just moved from Atlanta to Texas, and Sublime is one of the things I miss the most! My favorite was the strawberry shortcake filled doughnut. It had fresh strawberries and a very light cream…to die for! Hope you enjoyed your stay in the peach state!
