A little photography to share . . .

Remember over the summer when I ran into Niki and her daughter Amerie at the beach? Well, over Christmas break, we were both back home and I met up with her again– this time she had her hubby with her! ;) I had a really fun time taking pics of this sweet (not to mention beautiful!!!) family. I thought I’d share some of my favorite pics– and get your feedback! :)

Wow, these are very professional and I’m sure your friend was over the moon about them. That little girl is so very precious. What lens did you use? The botek(is that the right word for the fuzziness?) is AMAZING.

Cara,

Great question and good eye!! :) I used the Canon 85mm f/1.8. It’s one of my favorite lenses for portraits!! I really wanted a super blurry background so I kept my aperture at 1.8 for all these pics. :)

Hope this helps!

Hello Amanda!
Those are just AMAZING photographs! The lighting in everyone of them is excellent! It is all natural or did you use an external flash?
The post-processing work is pretty good also!
Congratulations! :)

I love those photos, when her mommy holds her, she looks just like her mommy, and when her dad holds her you can see him in her too.

What a great set of pictures you took. I am sure they are thrilled. It makes you feel happy to see a happy family, you know? thanks for sharing.

Oh the baby again! Oh isn’t she jsut a sweet little angel. Everytime i see her i feel so melencholy. Anyways, I was watching t.v (as usual,ha.) and I saw an infomercial for this great product that’s perfect for you and scapbooking. It’s the cricute expression. Have you heard of it yet? It is amazing,it is as small as a printer and you can put the pictures on fabric, wood, plastic, and even etch glass! It is fabulous! I especiall love making the cards and etching glass (i made a champagne glass cup with my name on it! C U T E!). Here is the website for it, i think it is really cheap!http://www.cricut.com/shopping/ProductDetails.aspx?id=123&AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1

hi amanda, your photos are amazing!! i have trouble when taking photos when the aperature is on such a low number. did you need a tripod to take these?? do you point your camera at the subject and let it focus and then take the shot?? or do you manually focus?? what setting was the camera on?? i thought maybe i’ll have it on A so the camera chooses the right shutter speed. soooo many questions sorry. i have a f/1.8 lens and sometimes it’s hard keeping everything i want it focus. thanks in advance:)

Hi Amanda. I just absolutely love these pictures you took. You have done such a wonderful job. My favorites are the black and whites and the one with the Amerie standing at her parents legs. I have just recently became a fan of your website and will be as long as you have this site up. I love what you have done with your recipes cards and most of all, your scrapbook room. I love organizing and you have done such a wonderful job! I have not found any other scrapbook room as organized as yours that I like while searching on the internet for ideas. AWesome Job! Oh, and thank you for the free fonts. I downloaded every single one of them today. * Annette
