I have been seeing these super cute rag quilts lately and have been dying to try one! I’ve always wanted to make a quilt (despite my glaring lack of sewing skillz) and these rag quilts looked like something I could handle. I am really *so bad* at sewing, so I always have tons of extra fabric left over from my sewing projects. I checked my stash and I had some really cute patterns leftover from the crate covers and some clothes I made for Miley that all coordinated.

Since I had all my supplies on hand and didn’t even have to go to the store, I decided to start this late on Friday night. By Saturday night, I had this!!
Be sure and check out the rest of the pics (and get the instructions!) by clicking here! :)
This was a fun project, even for a sewing challenged loon like myself! :) While I won’t be opening an Etsy store anytime soon, this probably won’t be the last rag quilt you see from me! ;)
Thanks for looking! :D

Great job Amanda! I love the colors. The best thing about sewing a quilt is that it’s just sewing a straight line. Measuring out 1/4″ from the needle and using tape to mark the distance can help keep the lines straight. I can’t wait to get sewing again….5 more classes and I’m free!!!

Love the quilt!! Looks like you are pretty good at sewing to me. You did a great job on the dog clothes and crate cover too.

Your sewing skills are great if you can make those crate covers and jackets for Miley! And that quilt is GREAT! I love it. I tried to find fabric like that and missed out on when HL had it. I love black and white! I’m impressed! (as always!) :)

Hi Amanda,
I just stubbled upon your website while googling scrapbook rooms to get ideas for my own. Thank you for this site, you are so talented and everything is amazing. I did want to know what type of camera do you use?

I love this quilt! I’ve made one with flannel, but you can’t find the really stunning and pretty fabrics in flannel. What type of material did you use for this one?
