This is our new robot helper around the house, whom we’ve affectionately named Mr. MagNeato. He’s the Neato XV-21 Robot Vacuum cleaner, and he sucks up dirt and dust like a magnet! We added the Boston Terrier sticker ourselves, but personally I think they should come standard. Don’t you? ;)
1. Vacuum Lines.
Nothing brightens up a room like vacuum lines! I love the Neato because it doesn’t just bounce around the house haphazardly. It uses a laser to scan the room first and map the best, most efficient route before getting to work. The route changes every time it vacuums, so it’s sure to hit every nook and cranny. The Neato knows where it’s been and where it hasn’t, so it won’t miss a spot. As it vacuums, the sensor continues to scan, enabling the robot to navigate furniture, walls, stairs or Miley and Howie.
2. Powerful
The Neato XV-21 is specially designed for pet owners and allergy sufferers. I am amazed at how powerful the suction is! It doesn’t just push trash on the floor around. It picks it up! I was afraid it wouldn’t work as well as a regular vacuum cleaner, but I am amazed at how clean our carpets look. We did the old vacuum comparison test: We first vacuumed with our regular vacuum cleaner, then set the Neato to work while we put our feet up and relaxed. Look at what all the Neato picked up that our other vacuum left behind! This little compartment needs to be emptied after every use, but it’s so easy to just grab it and dump the dirt in the trash — so much easier than large, fumbly canisters or bags, and you know you’re starting with a clean slate before every single vacuum.
3. Schedule
You can schedule the Neato to vacuum for you whenever you want — when you’re at work, at the grocery store, or even while you sleep. Put your feet up and relax while Neato does the work! :) (He is just as loud as a regular vacuum cleaner though, so we don’t generally run him while we’re watching TV. :)) Last minute company coming over? Let Neato do the floors while you take care of the bathrooms. He works great on my tile floor as well! Neato can easily maneuver small obstacles such as rugs and door frames, so no need to “babysit” him. I have our Neato scheduled to run at night while we sleep, so we wake up to freshly vacuumed carpets in the morning.
My floors actually look like this all the time now, and all I have to do is press a button!
4. Value
The Neato XV-21 retails for $429.99. I kind of balked at the price at first, until I thought about it. There are several other extremely popular vacuum cleaners on the market right now that retail for upwards of $500-$600. And they don’t do the vacuuming for you! With the Neato, you don’t have to haul out a heavy machine. You don’t have to push it around every single room in your house. You don’t have to wind up the cord and put it away.

I always start with the kitchen, then the family room, then the bathroom. Oh, and have to sweep the front porch and wash the grand kid’s fingerprints off the front door, which is glass. Would be great to try one of these vacuums.

The first thing I clean when company is coming is my kitchen counter. There is a spot where stuff collects (magazines, permission slips, etc), and when company comes it forces me to go through my “pile” and put things away.
The bathroom. There is nothing worse than using someone else’s bathroom and feeling like you’ve witnessed something you shouldn’t have.
Ahhh, I’ve wanted to try a robot vacuum for a while now, but balked at the start-up costs (I buy cheap(er) vacuums personally, still a fairly poor youngin’).
The first thing we clean is usually the carpets, lol. So bad about regular vacuuming. Either that or the bathroom, like you said!
Bathrooms are always the first thing I clean. It’s where people spend the most time on their own in your house so they can really see all your dirt! :)

I hate to vacuum – - so I really need this. I hate struggling with the cord and dragging it out. The first thing I clean is my kitchen counters, then my utility room because everyone enters my house through the side door. I would be heaven to wake-up to freshly vacuumed floors every morning.

Decluttering and basically putting things where they belong is usually the first thing I do when cleaning for company. I can’t really clean anything until all my surfaces are clear of the extra stuff. I save bathrooms for last so they are the most clean and my family doesn’t dirty them up before our guests arrive.
I always start with vacuuming the house top to bottom and end with the bathroom (my favorite room to clean). This vacuum looks amazing!

The floors are always needing a cleaning! I’ve got 3 dogs and of I’m not careful, I end up with dog hair tumbleweeds!
Of course, everyone loves to come through my garage to come in, but, that’s via my kitchen. So… I always vacuum it first, then off to the family room, then the bathrooms. Just in that order.

I have two cats in the house so I start dusting and vacuuming my great room and move through the house. If I had the NEATO-XV21 I could work in two rooms at one time! The comments are right…the house isn’t finished until I see vacuum lines in the carpet! Love freshly vacuumed carpet and would love to win this little jewel!
The first thing I do is clean the downstairs bathroom. People can look at the hairballs on the floor and dust on the surfaces, but no need to use a dirty bathroom. Yuck!
The first thing I clean when company comes over is the kitchen. It always seems to collect things and if the counter is clean and there are no dishes in the sink, the rest of the house looks better! (I would love this vaccuum especially since it works on both carpet and hard floors.)
Wow! I would just love one of these! How cool? My living room is always the first room to be cleaned. Although I love to clean and I like things neat and orderly, have you ever heard this saying….I get more cleaning done in the 10 minutes before someone comes over than I do in a week. Lol, I can say this definitely applies at times in my life. =)
For me the first thing I clean is the entry way. I have a set of drawers there that I have been using as a catch-all and tend to drop mail, books, receipts, whatever I have in my hands when I walk through the door. So when company comes, I quickly remove the mail and neaten that area up…then on to the bathroom! :) I would love a vacuum that would clean the carpets while I quickly tidied up the rest of the house. One less things to worry about. I’m sure it would be more accurate than I am! Have a great weekend!

What’s the first thing I clean when company is coming over? Well, let’s see. My bathrooms of course! I have two little boys and well, they just make a mess if you know what I mean ;) I love your blog and would love one of these vacuums!!
I will usually clean my bathrooms, the guest bedroom with clean linens, then vacuum.

The first place I clean is the bathroom. Always seems like my luck, that the guests who come over need to use the restroom right away. And with four kids, the bathroom always gets messy..lol. A close second is the livingroom…vacuuming that is:)
The living room, the front entry way is part of the whole room and very observable, its an open plan and anything out of place stands out!

My bathrooms are generally pretty clean, so I always clean the kitchen and living room first since those are the rooms my guests spend the most time in!
The first “thing” my fiance and I clean is our dog, Miss Tilly. She’s a beagle basset mix and always has her nose in something in the house or outside. The first thing we do is we do a “smell test”. Tilly has foul odors to begin with (passes gas in public), therefore we must eliminate as many odors as we can. This results in a bath for Tilly. She’s the best dog in the world but there always has to be a smell test before going on roadtrips, vacations to visit her “grandparents”, and when we have friends over :)

Wow! That vacuum robot really looks like they got all the kinks worked out that befall all the other ones out on the market. Everything I didn’t like about them is better in this robot vacuum! We always need to vacuum the living room furniture. Our cat is always sleeping on it and leaving behind piles for fur. Then we vacuum the rest of the house!
Kitchen is always the first to get cleaned! It’s usually the messiest because of dinner prep for the company. However, if it’s overnight company than the room that they’re staying in gets tackled first!

The first thing I do is dust the furniture, the vacuum the floors because I have a cat that leaves hair everywhere! How long does the battery last on this robot vacuum cleaner? Does it work on floors with a lot of objects like tables and chairs?

First thing I do is vacuum the area rug. My dog loves his tug and it leaves strings all over the place! Or I just neaten up the kitchen. And clean the stove. And put away all my shoes that are scattered. There’s just too much! Always!

Im not going to lie the bathroom is the first thing I clean, but when ever you have company over of course everyone sits on the couch, puts their feet up. So you have to clean the living room, I just adopted another cat (kitten) and I cannot believe how much the amount of cat hair has gone up from one little 4 lb kitten. This vacuum would be a God send if I won. Hope I do!! =)

The bathroom and living room. I try to make sure that anything you can see from the front door always looks clean, but with 3 little kids it gets a little hard sometimes. :)
I go around and pick up all clutter, then I wash any dishes. Because dog hair is everywhere all the time I save vacuuming as the final touch and it makes a huge difference in making the house presentable.

Definitely the first thing I do is clean off the kitchen countertops and any dishes in the sink. I think a cluttered counter and sink brings down the whole room! Plus my kitchen, dining, and living rooms are all one big area. So a mess in the sink is really noticeable!
