Kevin gave me something for Christmas this year that I absolutely loved.

Gourmet Peanut Butter Spread

He got me a really fun collection of peanut butter spreads in some seriously intriguing flavor combinations.

Gourmet Peanut Butter Spread

They’re from Spread, a restaurant in San Diego that uses all locally grown, organic ingredients. I was so enamored with these extraordinary flavors that I had to stop by the restaurant in person while we were out in San Diego.

And I couldn’t leave without a few more jars.

Gourmet Peanut Butter Spread

They have flavors like Blonde, which is white chocolate and peanut butter blended with their own house-made chocolate peanut butter cups.

Gourmet Peanut Butter Spread

Tastes just like a peanut butter cup! Love this one.

Gourmet Peanut Butter Spread

And butterscotch peanut butter, which knocked my socks off. It’s sweet and peanut buttery and completely delicious. It’s my favorite for a good old fashioned peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Gourmet Peanut Butter Spread

They have cinnamon peanut butter, which smells like heaven when you open it.

Gourmet Peanut Butter Spread

This is the Ode to Elvis peanut butter spread. Can you guess what’s in it?

Gourmet Peanut Butter Spread

It’s peanut butter and banana of course, but it’s also got just a taste of honey and.. are you ready for this? Organic soy bacon bits.

What a surprise when I tasted it! LOVED the salty, crunchy bacon bits. They are such a fun addition to this peanut butter spread.

Gourmet Peanut Butter Spread

This is Rose Salted Basil peanut butter. Oh my gosh. This one is incredible. Incredible. It’s basil. It’s peanut butter. It’s got organic dried rose petals in it. It’s fantastic. Love this on a Ritz cracker.

Gourmet Peanut Butter Spread

Oh boy. This is the one you’ve been waiting for. White Chocolate Pretzel peanut butter.

Gourmet Peanut Butter Spread

I attempted to maintain a semblance of dignity by spreading this on a Ritz cracker before consuming.

But I quickly gave up. This one’s best enjoyed straight out of the jar. It’s the only way to do it.

Gourmet Peanut Butter Spread

They even have just regular peanut butter. Super smooth and silky gourmet peanut butter.

Gourmet Peanut Butter Spread

They all taste like peanut butter.

Gourmet Peanut Butter Spread

They all have the wonderful, stick-to-the-roof-of-your-mouth quality of peanut butter.

Gourmet Peanut Butter Spread

And they’re all incredibly delicious.

Gourmet Peanut Butter Spread

Remember what I said about the butterscotch peanut butter?

Gourmet Peanut Butter Spread

Perfection.

***Update***

Spread the Restaurant is now closed, but you can make my copycat White Chocolate Pretzel Peanut Butter spread at home. It’s super easy and tastes EXACTLY like what I used to order from Spread. It’s so much cheaper and you get so much more! Enjoy! :)

I saw a thing about them on Food Network as well. The owners seems like funny people and they showed how the peanut butter cup one was made. Looks amazing!

AHHHmazing. Holy cow, you have a good man. Just think of all the things you could bake after adding that deliciousness. I’m intrigued by the elvis pb…hmmmm.

Those SPREADS look delicious! They would go SO well with my new-found love for creating unbelievable PBJs: flavored creamed honey. Our local beekeeping place, Copoco’s (stands for Colorado Pollination Company), offers blueberry, raspberry, cinnamon and many more flavors ~ including CHOCOLATE ~ that smooth on like peanut butter, and make the creamiest, most mouth-watering PBJs ever! Even better, the honey NEVER crystalizes!

Here’s the link (ignore all the misspellings on the page ~ they do honey, not words!): http://copocoshoney.com/oscommerce2/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=21_23&products_id=30

I am sitting here looking at the many pictures of Spread. And just smiling to myself. I love that you take delight in such things.

  16. sinika

Oh. My. Yum!!! These will have to be tried! The funny thing is, I didn’t love peanut butter as a kid but the older I get, the more I love it!

Reminds me of the flavors of Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams in Columbus, Ohio. She is also good at pairing herbal with traditional ice cream flavors. I love her wild berry lavender and queen city cayenne. I think I would like to try the almond blends from Spread, but I have a daughter-in-law that would love the peanut butter blends and the immense variety. Thank you for the tip!

  18. Kelly @ Dare to be Domestic

These all sound SO tasty! I am sure you are happy that the “kids” got their own peanut butter stash for Christmas as well – now you don’t have to worry about sharing this goodness with them!

  19. Cary

Amanda, I don’t know how you stay soooooo thin! I manage to gain weight just by reading your blog and devouring the wonderful pictures!

  20. Barb Killen

Oh my gosh. Just made an account with Spread, The Restaurant, and ordered 5 for starters. I’m thinking I will do Valentine goodies for my kids from here. I’ll have to hide our order when it comes though as my husband will eat them all in one day! LOVE getting your emails with so many great ideas :)

  21. Connie Lynn

OMG – stop it – I can’t bear it! Those spreads are the most incredible things I have ever seen. How brilliant someone thought to make them. What a great gift!

  22. Leslie

Just placed my order. Can’t wait to try them all. They also have a puppy set for dogs that I just had to get my little mutts.

    Hi Amanda,

I have followed your blog for a little while and have an e-mail subscription. I have a q1uestion for you regarding your e-mail feed. I searched through your blog tutorials but could find the answer to my question so thought I’d post it here. I totally understand if you can’t respond but just thought I’d try. :-) I have a blog that I keep mostly for my family that lives away. I have an e-mail subscription so my family can sign up and get updates when I post them. I’d love to have a link at the bottom of the e-mail they get that takes them to the comments section so they can easily leave comments. I notice you have it on your e-mail feed so I’m hoping you can give me some guidance on how to set it up. I am pretty clueless regarding blog design but I can follow directions pretty well! :-) Thanks for any help you can give me!

Amanda, these are some very interesting peanut butter flavors. I’m not to sure about the peanut butter and basil. That one I may have to pass on. I have a question. I first came across your blog because of your scrapbook room mainly the paper storage. I notice you don’t blog at all about scrapbooking except for fonts. Do you still do any scrapbooking. Just curious. Thanks, Tina

  26. Kristen@PrettySweet

I really want to sample all of these, too! The rose salted basil one is the most intriguing to me, though. I love anything with basil, but I can’t quite imagine what this would taste like…!

  27. Maria Ortiz-Cintron

What an AWESOME post! Thanks for sharing….these peanut butter spreads are amazing, I am looking forward to giving them a try. Love your blog, my 14 year old daughter and I are big fans, I catch her reading it all the time.

  28. Lori @ RecipeGirl

I’ll bring you that Cookies and Cream one when I see you in Atlanta :)

Some of these sound entirely strange, but it’s definitely worth a stop-by to their store to do some investigating!

  29. Tara

Oh me oh my!! These look simply divine!! I can’t resist peanut butter and am already imaging a couple of these warmed up and drizzled over ice cream. Heaven!!

  30. Christine

These look amazing! I bet your sweet puppies were beside themselves smelling all these open jars!

Oh my gosh! I LOVE Spread! I have been ordering from them since 2007! I absolutely adore their stuff and am so thrilled someone else has found it! I am a nutbutter freak. I love the rose salted basil in stir fries and with veggies!

  33. Heather @ Sweet Sins 2 Share

This is crazy!! Who knew they had so many flavor of peanut butter… I didn’t! But I wish that had been my Christmas gift because I think testing all of them would be too much fun!!
