BHG Scented Tarts for Plugin Warmers

Better Homes and Gardens Holiday Scented Wax Warmers from Walmart

Oh yay! Walmart has new Better Homes and Gardens scented wax tarts for their plugin candle warmers! I seriously love these things and look forward to new scents every year. I love popping a cube into the warmer and letting it fill the house with a delicious scent all day. So yummy!  I love ’em because they’re so easy to pop in, and when you’re done, you just pour the wax right back into the case and use it again next time. And I especially love that there’s no smoky “blown out” smell afterwards!

Check out these new scents, I think I was giddy when I saw these this weekend! Country Kettle Corn? Oh my gosh it smells just like sweet, buttery popcorn at the movies!

Vanilla Sugar Cookie. Okay, let me just say I think this smells ten thousand times better than a plain old sugar cookie! I think it’s more like a Lofthouse Sugar Cookie — you know those super soft, chewy, fluffy cookies at the grocery store with the sweet vanilla icing and sprinkles on top? Those.  A sugar cookie on steroids. This fragrance is exactly what you want in a sweet, bakery scented tart. It’s got that satisfying baked goods fragrance with a light hint of pure vanilla. And  I personally think it’s got a little chocolate in there too. Something extra bumps up the wow factor here. This one might be my favorite of all the new scents.

Creamy Spiced Eggnog. Disclaimer: I am not a fan of eggnog, neither in the way it smells nor tastes, but I loved this one. It’s rich and warm, but also sweet and creamy, with the perfect hint of nutmeg. This one’s a fabulous holiday fragrance.

Spiced Pumpkin Pie. This one smells “fine” in it’s case, but boy was I in for a treat when I melted this one a few days ago! I immediately asked for another one to go in my stocking. I think it smells more like fluffy pumpkin muffins with a brown sugary, buttery streusel topping. I’m in love.

Vanilla Cinnamon Sugar. Love. This one totally reminds me of a bakery, because if I could make something that tastes as good as this smells, my thighs would be in serious trouble!

Candied Caramel Pecan. How yummy does this sound?? Toasted pecans, buttery caramel, and sugary cinnamon. That’s my kinda holiday.

Maple Candied Almond. Oh man, this one smells like yummy, buttery french toast, topped with sweet maple syrup.

Spiced Sugar Plum. These last two tarts deviate from my usual bake shop inspired scents, but I loved the inviting plum fragrance here. It’s warm. And velvety. And a little fruity.

Cranberry Chutney. If I had to pick my favorite non-bakery scent… well, it’d be blueberry. But my second favorite would be cranberry! I’m a huge fan. I love it because it just smells so clean and fresh. And sweet. And fruity. And not cloying. I think this one’s got a little pineapple in there too. And maybe a little buttery brown sugar.

Yum.

I just picked up a “Chocolate Peppermint Truffle” to try in my Scentsy warmer. I’ve been using the Scentsy “Blueberry Cheesecake” mixed with the Scentsy “Oats & Honey” for the past four months. Those two together smell like Blueberry Oatmeal. So GOOD!

Can’t wait to try the BHG one, it smells like a York Peppermint Patty. :D

Hi Esther! I only have one warmer, and it is a Scentsy warmer. I use it for both the Scentsy and BHG cubes, and it works great! :) I find the BHG cubes to be a lot more fragrant than Scentsy, so I’ll usually only melt one BHG cube, whereas I always melt 2 Scentsy cubes. Hope this helps! :)

I love these things! I have a warmer at home and in my office at work and everyone loves it there. My favorites I have so far are spice cake and blueberry muffin. I’m definitely going to have to try some of the new scents! I haven’t been to Wal-mart for a while, but I know what aisle I’m heading for the next time I go! I have never tried Scentsy..they are just so expensive and these are only $2 a bar, which is easy to squeeze into my budget vs. $5 a bar plus shipping for Scentsy. I’m all about getting more for your money!

I was at walmart yesterday and I was getting some of the BHG candles for my mom and a girl kept telling me about the wax warmer squares and I didn’t think much of it- but that’s twice in 24 hours someone is telling me about them? I guess I need to try them now!

I have some of the Vanilla Cinnamon Sugar. I absolutely loved it! My hubby came home & smelled it & thought I had made some cookies. LOL!

oh my gosh! thanks for posting about this Amanda! I love scentsy but its a little to pricy but these could be the perfect alternative!

I love these waxey smell goods. I was spending a fortune on scentsy, convinced it was the best until I tried these! Pretty sure scentsy has gotten my last order. These are so affordable and smell amazing! I love the cinnamon stix, it smells so good. Oh another great bathroom/laundry room scent is line dried linen! Great post!

I love Scentsy, but these little guys call to me when I walk by the aisle at WalMart! I have to second the nomination on Cupcake. It is so good that I gain weight smelling it! Love your photographs- you make ordinary things look extraordinary.

OMGosh I thought I was the only nut out there addicted to these little wax blocks that make my house smell so yummy. I have been a die hard Yankee tart fan, until, they got rid of most of my favorite scents, then scentsy came along and it was love all over again but they can get expensive, thennnnn along came BHG at Walmart and for 2 dollars now I can afford that, I went crazy and really stocked up but the funny thing was and yes they were stashed in the back of the housegoods aisle anyway there was a couple ladies there and they asked me about them and wondered why I was getting so many of them well let me say by the time I got done talking to them and we were all dizzy from smelling so many there were not many left on the shelf. totally love these Donna

Ha! So funny to see this post! I don’t know when Walmart started carrying these scents, but I saw it hidden in an aisle and pretty much went nuts smelling all the fragrances (love that they left the packages easy to open and re-close – plus made in the USA!). I got the eggnog even though I don’t drink the stuff either! In the 3 trips I’ve had; I’m a regular once to twice a week shopper, I’ve picked up 2 more scent blocks each time so I’m hoarding up a little collection. My husband hasn’t made fun of me though – he loves the peppermint chocolate. The blocks are also great to blend your own scent. The BHG fragrance stuff has been my best fragrance purchase – and I’m really hoping they keep the yummy scents coming for spring/summer too!

I haven’t tried these but I’m definitely going to pick a few up to try! The Scentsy are the strongest smelling and I love them. I also love the PartyLite ones. :) The Yankee Candle ones are a total disappointment… they smell really good, but they don’t last and they don’t have enough scent to even fill our small half bathroom. :( I prefer their jar candles on a warmer for stronger scent.

Totally wish I knew about these for Thanksgiving when I had all my family and friends over. Well, never too late for Christmas. Country Kettle Corn… amazing.

I love any of your post about anything that smells delicious. I am positive that you would LOVE a scentsy scent called Cutie Pie Cupcake its a yellow cake batter with a hint of lemon. Its part of the “bring back my bar” scents so keep a look out for it you will not be disappointed. I like all warmer scents walmart, scentsy, yankee candle tarts they all smell good to me!

    1. Amanda

Oh my gosh, me too Deanna! Have you tried melting the Yankee Tarts in the Scentsy wamers? I have a few of the Yankee tarts, but I wasn’t sure how they’d do. I’ve been wanting to give them a try! :)

    1. Amanda

Aww, I’m sorry you didn’t like these Camille. :( I do love Scentsy too, but fortunately I’ve been lucky with the BHG tarts, the scents I have picked up have been strong enough to fill up most of the house and last for hours (I usually run it all day). What’s your favorite Scentsy scent? I’m always on the lookout for more! :)

  15. Kat

I don’t think I’ve ever seen these, now I need to go looking. I use the oil plug ins but those kettle corn and vanilla sugar cookie scents are calling my name. Thanks for sharing!!

  16. Carmen

I have not seen kettle corn, but will have to look for it?! Have you tried CUPCAKE?! OMG…sooo yummy! I just started seeing it again and stocked up. (It’s pink.)

    1. Amanda

At Walmart? I have not seen that one! I have one called Cupcake from Scentsy that I love. I will have to be on the lookout! :)

    2. Carmen

Yes, at Walmart. It’s not the same brand as the Better Homes & Gardens…just looked, it’s made by ScentSationals and it’s in the same area as the Wally ones. I could smell it as soon as I opened my drawer. Heaven in wax. :)

  17. The Mrs @ Success Along the Weigh

There is no better smell than kettle corn popping! Mmmm.

I was reminded by the thumbnail at the bottom of the post to thank you (I think) for getting us hooked on the Mrs Fields Chocolate Chip cookie bites. Finding them was a little challenging now since Target is focusing on the candies instead of cookie bites in the bins but we found them someplace else when the Mr gasped and pointed, so they’ll be going in our stockings! :-) Thanks!

Nice! I really like using my “old fashioned” tart warmer that has a tea light beneath and the wax in a little bowl above. When you’re ready for a new scent, just let it harden, stick it in the fridge for a few minutes, and pop it out! Clean and easy.
Are these just scented wax? Do you suppose they might work in my tart warmer?

    1. Vikki

Yes, that is what they are for except the wax warmers have light bulbs under them. :)
My favorite is the vanilla caramel spice one.
