The Silhouette Portrait is a brand new personal craft cutter from Silhouette with an 8-inch cutting mat. It’s small in size, small on price (yay!), and BIG on features! The Silhouette Portrait is a personal electronic cutting tool. Like a home printer, it plugs into your PC or Mac with a simple USB cable. However, instead of printing it uses a small blade to cut paper, cardstock, vinyl, fabric and more up to 8 inches wide and 10 feet long.

What I’ve always loved about the Silhouette compared to other craft cutters is that with the Silhouette, you can cut ANY font on your computer — no extra charge! There’s no need to buy countless alphabets or cartridges. With the Silhouette, you have a whole arsenal of fonts that you can start cutting right away, right on your computer. You can also use the Silhouette software to trace your own designs you’ve created, or purchase individual designs from the extensive Silhouette Online Store. You don’t have to buy a whole cartridge for just one design! Most designs in the Silhouette Online Store are 99¢ or less. Plus there’s a new free shape each week that can be downloaded and kept permanently in your Silhouette Studio library.

The Silhouette Portrait weighs only 3.5 pounds, making it easily portable. The Portrait can be easily carried wherever you go!

There are so many fun things you can make with the Silhouette!

Have you seen these adorable aprons that Ashley from Make It and Love It made using the Silhouette, heat transfer material, and the Our Best Bite’s doodle font?

Silhouette Craft Cutter Giveaway

You can also cut vinyl for wall words & home decor projects…

Silhouette Craft Cutter Giveaway

You can etch glass for seriously fun, one of a kind serving dishes…

Use your Silhouette to cut fabric. Just iron Silhouette interfacing to your favorite fabric and send it through the machine on a Silhouette cutting mat.

With Silhouette sketch pens, the Silhouette can draw intricate patterns. Just pop out the blade and insert the color pen of your choice — even white and glitter pens! How awesome would this be for addressing envelopes with a gorgeous handwritten font?? :)

Silhouette Craft Cutter Giveaway

You can even make fake tattoos. Fun!

From magnet paper to temporary tattoo paper, wood paper to transparencies, the Silhouette can cut a wide variety of specialty media.

And be sure to check out Silhouette on Facebook and Pinterest for more great ideas!

I think a vinyl wall art piece would be my first project. I love the way they look. Thanks so much for sponsoring this great giveaway!

  394. Wendy M

My first project would be vinyl for my wall. We just finished moving into/unpacking our new house and I need to add personalized touches to the walls :)

  395. Debbie

It’s time to make Mothers Day cards for my daughters…and our mothers! My studio is a very,
very small area and this would be perfect for me to use in there:)

  396. Amber B.

I would make vinyl labels for all the containers in my medicine cabinet so they’d be easier to see. Thanks for the awesome giveaway!!!

  397. Kelly Watson

Oh! I would LOVE to have this machine! If I could ever decide which I would make first, it would definitely be etching glass on serving dishes – we love to entertain! What a fun conversation piece!

  398. Tammy Valley

I would love to be able to create my own art. That is something I miss so much with the other die cutting machines.

  399. Valerie B.

What an amazing machine. I was especially impresses by personalized glassware, and think that that is what I would want to try first!

  400. Wendy W.

I’ve seen that etched baking dish on the web so many times, and I lust after it every dang time – that would be my first project :)

  401. Ann

The possibilities seem endless. I LOVE the glass etching feature and would be very excited to try that. I would also use it to help my daughter make gifts/favors for a wedding shower she is planning. I have always wanted to create special aprons for all my friends who love cooking as much as I do. So again, to have a tool to spark my creative juices would be incredible!

  402. Elizabeth

We are in the middle of renovations…I could have some serious fun when we ‘finally’ get to the redecorating phase!

  403. Jenn Anderson-Logas

My son wants a soccer themed bedroom. His desk chair is plain but I saw a pin that had vinyl butterflies to dress up a chair and it got me thinking – how cool would it be to add soccer balls to his chair!! Next up – my laundry room and powder room share the same hallway. This leads to many opening the laundry room when trying to find the powder room. I’d like to use the Silhouette Portrait to create a pretty sign or lettering for both doors :) The possibilities are endless!! Pick me – please pick me!!

  404. Kim D

I would make Chrismas aprons for all of us that get together to make Christmas cookies each year. Thanks for the great give away!

  405. Krista

I’d make something for mother’s day gifts. Either aprons or etched glass frames with pics of the kiddos for their grandmother’s :)

  406. Susan S

TOO EXCITING! The first thing I’d make is a wall decal for my sweet 2-year old son’s bedroom. He is learning the letters and numbers now and he would love this. After that, I’d make new greeting cards, special gift tags, labels for craft bins and toys, organizational labels for our garage, basement, storage boxes…. the list goes on. Pick me! Pick me! :)

  407. Shirin Rose

We’re moving into a new house in a few months and I’ve been wanting to put some cute touches like your Laundry picture in our new place!!! I think that would be the first thing I’d do!

  408. Sean

Fun giveaway! I would make all sorts of vinyl sayings with my children so they could use ’em all over – folders, walls, friends, anywhere and everywhere.

  409. Rebekah

My husband and I just bought a house three weeks ago – I’d love to add some vinyl touches to the guestroom and the guest bath (like the damask on Make It and Love It!), as well as the glass etching to organize some things!

  410. Jennifer

I am not sure what I would make first. I have never played with one and really have heard a whole lot about it. I am sure I could put it to good use. I would love to have this to try out and see what all I can do with it.

  411. Mindy

As a kindergarten teacher it would be used for things in my classroom, letters for bulletin boards, labeling shelves, containers, and other misc. classroom items. Oh I can think of 101 classroom uses!
    Kindergarten Kidlets

  412. Ellie

We are building a house and I am pregnant with our first due in August, so the list of things I would do with this thing is looooooong. Definitely make some creative onesies for the baby and wall decals for the nursery!

  413. deborah

Thanks for the opportunity to win! I would cut some cute animal silhouettes out of cardstock, and make some cute little kid’s birthday cards.

  415. Deb

I would love to be able to cut vinyl for my walls. I also make cards and could use it for that to. I am also sure I could use it for a ton of things. Thanks.

  416. Kelli Murdock

I sooo want to win this!!!! The first thing I would do with this machine is cut out vinyl letters in different fonts for a beutiful coffee table make over project I found on Pinterest. I’ve want to do this project for so long, but I don’t have the right tools. PICK ME PICK ME!!!!! :)

  417. Amanda

Oh yippee!!!!!! I would make stencils for decorating cardboard stars to use in the International Folk Art Market Santa Fe…….

  418. Lisa Y.

Oh my gosh I’m so overwhelmed with what this machine can do. I love the idea of the aprons. They would make great gifts.

  419. Peggy

Being a frugal crafter, I do a little bit of everything, from paper crafts and card making to gardening and home decorating….. where would I start…. love the thought of cut outs for a beautiful card, thinking it would be fun to personalize some mother’s day pots with a cute planted daisy…. there are so many things I could do with a cool tool like this!

  420. dreadedjaws

How wonderful! I’ve been wanting to try glass etching ever since I read your previous post on it, so my first project would be small-scale: name on the glass casserole.

  421. Ash

Too many things I’d love to make its so hard to think of a first! I’d probably try cutting some card stock for greeting cards, since I have that in stock and it would be an easy first project

  422. danielle

I would make something for my mom for Mother’s day! She just remodeled her kitchen so I would make something for her walls. Fun!!

  423. Andrea R.

Considering I found about 20 years worth of flat cards and top-fold tent cards while I was packing to move into my new place, it seems I need to get on making some personal greeting cards rather than buying them! This is the perfect size for big city living, in a tiny apartment space!

Love it! Thanks for offering a great giveaway!

  424. Lacie Herndon

I would love to win this! How amazing this tool is! I would first organize everything in my pantry like the photo above! OOOh the possibilities!

  425. jeny

OK- I seriously feel like the only person on the planet that still doesn’t have a Silhouette, but I have big plans for it “if” I were to win this giveaway! Thanks for the chance :)

  426. Tiffanee Noack

Oh WOW, the things I wouldn’t do is more like it..I’m a quilter with OCD and I’d love to label everything in my quilt room AND the entire house!! And try it on fabric for appliqué projects!!

  427. Jane Cornett

The next thing I’d do is learn to spell Silhouette Portrait and/or remember spell check when entering contests!!!

  428. jane crawford

I would use it to begin making personalized Save the Date’s for my daughter’s upcoming marriage. Hopefully they have a Sign Language font that I could incorporate because she and her fiance are both Deaf. I’ve always wanted one of these!

  429. Jane Cornett

The first thing I’d make with my new Silhouete Portriat would be a Welcome All sign for my front door. We’ve just re-done the paint, and door handles and a Welcome sign would just finish the project off.

  430. Jen Croatt

Ooo…I’ve been drooling over these for awhile now! I would love to try the glass etching first – wedding season is coming up! Thanks for the opportunity to win!

  431. Michele

Well, since I’m currently redecorating my bedroom, I think I’d create a cute saying to cut out in vinyl and put on the wall :) And then, I’d go crazy on a hundred other projects I’d love to do with my new Silhouette Portrait!! Thanks for this opportunity!

  432. Candi Thompson

I would start with vinyl words for dressing up my daughters room! The possibilities in my mind are endless! I’m hoping for some extra luck winning this, since Sunday is my 40th birthday :(.

  433. KathyE

WOW, I would love to win this. I love the wall art you can make with vinyl and that is what I would make first. I think they are beautiful. Thank you for the chance to win.

  434. Kari

Love ♥ luv this product. It would be so hard to decide which project to do first, but I think wall art for the church nursery would have to be first.

  435. Erin Duke

These are amazing! I can’t decide what I’d do first–fun quotes for my wall or awesome custom-etched glass! Great giveaway! :)

  436. Paula

What wouldn’t I like to do – however there is a must do list – my mother in law is ill and we are now in the processing of dividing her belongings and diepensing them to family and friends per her wishes. So I could label and leave message from her to them.

  437. Leslie S.

I would love to make a “family” vinyl wall quote and fill my foyer with framed pictures. I LOVE this smaller machine size too.

  438. Windy

I have never owned or used a Silhouette, but I hear great things. If I had one, I would definitely explore the vinyl and etching to put monograms on everything. Everything! Even my Boston Terrier.

  439. Beth

I have been spring cleaning so I would probably make labels for everything imaginable so there is no question as to where things belong!

  440. Kim K

The first thing I would make would be words to go on the outside of my glass canisters in my kitchen. They would identify what was in each canister – pasta, tea, sugar, etc. Thank you!

  441. Carrie Joy Bassett

Two words–MOTHERS’ DAY!!! Gifts with my students for their moms, a gift for my mom, for my daughter who is a mom, and for me!!!! (I’m a mom too.)

  442. Kimberly Clark

Oh my goodness…I would love this!!! I have 2 boys(twins) going off to college next fall. One is attending Auburn and one is attending Alabama. There are soooo many things I would make for both of them. Decorate their dorm rooms plus label kitchen canisters for them, dishes, towels, the list is endless!!! I could even use it for their roommates to differentiate their belongings. Pick me, Pick me!!

  443. Laura

I really like the personalized etched glass pieces (wine glasses! yes!). I love how clean and crisp the edges of the letters are, thanks no doubt to the Silhouette. Great giveaway!

  444. Jennifer

OOOOH!!! I would LOVE to win this! If I did, I would monogram a baby outfit with the iron on transfer paper for a baby gift! :)

  445. Dawn

That is pretty neat! I would start by making a cut out for my wall at home. Then once I know how it works, the possibilities are endless! Would love an opportunity to have one!

  446. Nicholas S

Mother’s Day is right around the corner and I know my wife would really like this because she told me. Since I strive to please . . .

I really don’t know what she would use it for first. She named several things.

  447. Natalie

I had no idea you could put a pen in there! Is that new? Amazing! I would have to try that first and make some fun drawings to put in frames and hang as art on the walls.

  448. Tay R

I have a wedding coming up and I would make a sign with their married name and date for them to hang in their new house. Then I would make some labels for the jars in my pantry. This is an awesome giveaway!

  449. Dustin

I would make etched dishes to give to my mom for Mother’s Day! I would also make my grandmother an apron! There are tons of things you could do with this Silhouette Portrait!

  450. karen

A set of etched glass casserole dishes for a wedding shower – and maybe a homemade carrier with a cute fabric applique!

  451. Claudia A.

First thing I’d make…hmm, that’s a difficult choice! Probably a stencil for my floor. The plan is to take out all the carpet and do a treatment on the subfloor…I can’t afford new flooring, so time to get creative!

  452. mari

    Wow – a silhouette – what a fabulous prize!
My first cut would be something very intricute and detailed because i hear the silhouette cuts these beautifully. This cut would be used for a card. Front door decoration would be my next cutting project.
Thanks for the opportunity to win this fantastic prize!

  453. Kathy C.

The first thing I would make would be wall art. I just love that you can do so much with this one machine. What an awesome giveaway. Thanks for the chance.

  454. Jan

This is so cute. I already have the big one but hardly ever use the full 12 in. size.
I would love to try those dishes with the etching. How fun are they? VERY.
    Jan

  455. CCT

Love this machine! Wow. I would definitely use this to label things, glass etching, and use it for faux stained glass patterns for windows! Thanks for the opportunity!

  456. Cindy

OhOhOh. So very nice. I do alot of fundraiser for the Komen Foundation and the 3Day so I am always sending out thank you cards – I would so make my envelopes beautiful. Then I would move on to vinyl for some wall art.
    Thanks for this awesome opportunity!

  457. Sherrinda

Oh my….I would soooo love to do the etching on glass dishes! That would make great wedding gifts for people at my church!

  458. Rachel

I had no idea you could do that much! I would use it to etch a pan first. We are hosting a big tailgate this weekend and it’s always a big possibility that the dishes won’t make it home with the right people. This is such a cute solution!

  459. Marty Ward

What a great give-a-way! I would use this for paper crafting, cards, project life and after reading this post, so many other things too! Love the smaller size of this Silhouette.

  460. Debi

WOW, how nice!!! I believe I would like to try making a ROCK STAR cut out for my grandsons wall.. Looks like a lot of fun…. <3

    1. Michele

I forgot to say what I’d make. I’d probably play with the etched glass thing first. Then label all of my canisters.

  461. Karen B

I would make the tattoos. I work for a large not for profit blood banking company and disaster relief and it would be fun to show up with them all for a blood drive. Or for team building.

  462. Maxine B

This looks like so much fun – the ideas are popping in my head too fast to keep up with. My first attempt would be an early start on office holiday gifts with stencils and with Halloween coming up – great cut outs for the wall and even pumpkins so I don’t have to carve! Thanks for the opportunity.

  463. Kristina

Wow, the possibilities are overwhelming. I’d probably try to start with something similar to those adorable aprons at the top of the post.

  464. debbie

First I would make ‘tattoos’ to sell at events held by an animal rescue group I volunteer for. I would use our group’s logo for the design. Awesome way to spread the word! Then I would likely make glass etched names on dog bowls-Tipper and Lilly P-then glass etch wine glasses. . .

Holy smokes, I could really use one of these!

  465. Donna

Have been wanting a Silhouette for a long time but with one kid in college and another headed there in less than two years, I could never justify the purchase. Thanks for the opportunity.

  466. Gail Fort

OMGosh! I have always wanted one of these!! First thing I’d make is to label all the jars and canisters I have in my pantry so my husband would know what’s there!

  467. Joyce S

Wow. I haven’t considered myself a craft person for years and never wanted a craft cutter of any kind — but the Silhouette Portrait and your article have changed my mind. I could see me using this for a variety of projects beginning with those awesome kitchen glass etching ideas.

  468. Melissa

I’ve been wanting to do a decorative wood board with our wedding vows, but don’t have an easy way to cut the letters. This would be perfect! :)

  469. Michelle Proudfoot

Wow! I had never heard of this cutter before…how cool! I would make some wall art or glass etching. I love that you work from your computer and not a cartridge! Thanks for sharing! ;-)

  470. Ellen - CardMonkey

    Hi Amanda,

I think I would cut some vinyl if I won the Silhouette Potrait. Thank you for the chance to win!

  471. Melissa Pierce

MY KIDS!!!! They are always putting on those silly tattoos…. it would be nice to make cute ones instead of funky ones they are using now. :)

  472. Linnea Grindle

Don’t know exactly what I’d do first, maybe tattoos for grandchildren or embellishments for my card making. What a wonderful opportunity … thank you!

  473. Donna Dear

I am not sure what I would make. Maybe something for my front door. I would definitely share with my friend wo wanted on for her birthday.

  474. Patti

My daughter’s 10th birthday is next month. This would be AWESOME to decorate for her party. Double digits, it’s a BIG deal! :)

  475. Melissa Winn

Thanks. I have to be honest. I would give mine to my twin sister who wanted one for Xmas but I couldn’t afford to give it to her. She does collage art and I don’t know what the first thing she would make would be. But I know it would be something amazing. Her stuff is at http://www.ripearts.com
    Thanks again. You guys rock.

  476. Ellen

I would make something with glass etching, or maybe do the envelope addressing you mentioned, or maybe temporary tattoos!

  477. Lori

Etched glass looks really fun and interesting- but then again, so do a lot of the other projects. I think it would be really hard to decide what to do first…..
    Thanks for the giveaway!

  478. Pam

Hi. This machine looks like a lot of fun. I’ve always wondered what I could do with it but I think if I actually owned it the first thing I’d do would be to make some sort of wall decor for my new sewing room. Then I think I could use it quite a lot in my various sewing projects. Thanks for chance of winning!

  479. Ashley L.

I would love to do the etch glass! I am have been thinking about buying a Silhouette for awhile but was afraid to do so because I am not “crafty”. The Silhouette just seems to make this crafting very easy!

  480. Elizabeth

I would make some fun end of school teacher gifts – something summery and fun – maybe beach bags or tote bags! Thanks for the chance to win!

  481. Jenn

I would definitely like to play with some glass etching. Then some fabric cutting. Then some scrapbooking embellishments. Then… :) Looks VERY fun!! Thanks for the giveaway!!

  482. Vanessa

Hi! What a great little device. I’d use it to cut out fabric for spelling out my soon-to-be-born son’s name and decorating his nursery :)

  483. Ginny

We didn’t know my daughter’s gender when we were pregnant so we didn’t get anything girly or monogrammed. I would finally fix that with the silhouette!

  484. Kesha

The first thing I would make is a monogram pillow! I’m sure however if my daughter knew that I could make tattoos then that would be what I made first:)

  485. Beth Gibbons

I would love to win this! I would use it to make names for each of the little girls helmets on my Daughters softball team!

  486. Pat M

I would make some sort of a beautiful cut out for the new family cookbook I am putting together for my daughter, daughter in law and 3 granddaughters. Pick me!

  487. Meredith Phillips

I love to scrapbook and use Project Life. It would be so fun to have cute cut outs and embellishments to add to my pages!

  488. Danielle R

Solo many ideas…but I would probably make some fun pillows or aprons as gifts for friends and to brighten up the living room. :)

  489. Amy B

I have so many ideas running through my head I’m not sure where I would start. My husband is in ministry at our church and we have so many occasions and opportunities to do things for others that this would be a great tool to help individualize things we can use in our ministry and opportunities we can do special things for others in our group. Would love to win!! Thanks! Amy

  490. Susan Cahalane

The first thing I would make with a Silhouette would be birds for my classroom wall! On the birds, I would have my students write about an area of science they love the most. I painted a tree on my classroom wall & I would put all the colorful birds all over the tree!!

    ✿Sue✿
    ✿Science for Kids Blog✿

  491. Lori O.

  494. Kelsi

I would absolutely go crazy with all the DIY wedding ideas I have rolling around in my head – bridesmaid gifts, finally have a good way to etch our toast glasses, wooden message signs, table numbers, drawings that represent our style to frame & decorate the room we’ll sare when we get married & finally move in together! The options are endless!!! Sooo exciting. Thx for giveaway opportunity :) :)

  495. JamieGems

I’d definitely use this to etch my fiance’s name and my name (along with the wedding date) on our champagne flutes for our upcoming wedding!

  496. Alison Wood

Wow! What a great giveaway. I’m sorry, but I would do a host of projects all at once. I would start with lots of vinyls, since the sky is the limit. This little machine would make my life a lot easier in the home decor and crafting realm. Thanks for offering this great deal:)

  499. Nicole Jackson

I’m excited… I’d love to win it. :) The first thing I’d make, well, it would be a toss up between SO many things that I’d sit there thinking about for way too long… so, I’d probably end up going with something simple to start… label my son’s bins for their toys! The thing that gets me most excited is to use it towards my marketing material. ;)

  500. Tiffany

The apron is adorable! I have a couple of friends having babies some personalized onesies would be great gifts!

Thanks for the chance to win!
