Congratulations girls! I love all of your sweet smilies. I’ve sent ya’ll an email. Happy baking!

Oh guys, I’ve got such a fun giveaway to share with you today! Just look at all these fabulous pure vanilla products from Nielsen Massey. We’ve got three different kinds of vanilla extracts, vanilla bean paste, vanilla sugar, whole vanilla beans, exotic extracts to spice up your baking, and a cookbook filled with bakery and pastry recipes, along with new ideas for using vanilla as an essential ingredient in savory dishes. I got to go through the Neilsen Massey catalog of pure vanilla products and hand pick my favorites to share with you guys, and Nielsen Massey would like to offer this assortment to three (3) Kevin & Amanda readers today.

Nielsen Massey offers three different types of vanilla extracts processed from vanilla beans grown in three different regions across the globe. What a huge difference it made in my baking when I figured out which type of vanilla was best to use in which recipe! Here’s a quick description of the three vanillas, and how to best utilize them.

Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla. The most popular, classic, all-purpose vanilla that is perfect for a wide range of foods from baked goods to barbeque sauces.

Mexican Pure Vanilla. A creamy, spicy vanilla that’s perfect for recipes that contain chocolate, cinnamon or other warm spices. A perfect vanilla for the holidays!

Tahitian Pure Vanilla. This is my favorite of all the vanillas. The flavor is so pure and sweet, and I can definitely tell a difference when I use this vanilla. This vanilla is susceptible to heat, so it’s only for recipes that will not be cooked. It’s perfect for ice creams, fruits, sorbets, frostings, and vanilla butter.

I would make mine into a banana split!!! Those are the best! Chocolate Syrup, strawberries, and pineapple…and of course nuts and a cherry on top!!

  2. Lea

Me? I’d take just as much chocolate ice cream. Let them both melt just a bit & then mix them together. Best of both worlds!

  3. Helen Reynolds

You pour about a third of a glass of root beer. Then, put in about 3 scoops of the vanilla ice cream. Finally, top it off with more root beer! Root beer floats are my favorite!

  4. Janelle Taylor

If I had a bowl of vanilla ice cream in front of me, it would be made with vanilla beans that were scraped and added to the creamy mixture. Why in the world would I want to top it off with something else to take away from that wonderful flavor?!

  5. Mary Palin

I would put our homemade cherry sauce on it. We grow cherries in our backyard and harvest them for a friend to turn it into this tasty sauce. It is perfect on plain vanilla ice cream.

  6. Cathy

Topped with rice krispies and chocolate! Our family was making sundaes a few years back, and we ran out of peanuts, so we tried rice krispies and topped with chocolate syrup. It was so Awesome, that its the only way we do it now.

  7. PatriciaD

So hard to decide but I haven’t had a banana split in FOREVER so I might do that or plain or just chocolate syrup or…man am I ever hungry for some ice cream now…

  8. Lynn Wild

I think I’d like vanilla ice cream best with warm apple pie or crumble in the winter – or with fresh strawberries in the summer – Yum!

  9. kateW80

You can go wrong with plain vanilla. It’s even better when it’s just that little bit warm and runny too… Mmm!

  10. Carolyn

I love vanilla ice cream all by itself when it’s really vanilla-y and rich, but it’s also nice with just a drizzle of rich chocolate sauce. Mmmmnn

  11. Lynne H

To my bowl of vanilla ice cream I would add a few slices of freshly cut peaches and a small sprinkle of pecans. Mmm, mmm good!

  12. grannymike

What a great prize! I’m with you. There’s not much better than a vanilla milkshake. If I don’t turn it into a milkshake, then I want my vanilla ice cream very soft and creamy.

  13. Amanda Mae

I would totally load mine up! I love sprinkles, nuts, chocolate sauce, whipped cream and a cherry to top it off :)

  14. Mellisa ~ ChinookJewelry

Definitely toppings! I have a delicious ginger caramel sauce right now that is perfect for vanilla icecream :)

  15. shara bachman

mmmm. toppings for sure. preferably hot fudge. and caramel. and butterscotch. and maybe some of that marshmallow stuff…..

  16. Ashley

I’d totally add toppings, I would add strawberry’s and strawberry sauce and whipped cream. I am hungry just thinking about it!

  17. Stacey A.

I definitely like to top my vanilla ice cream with just about anything chocolate…chocolate chips, hot fudge, brownies, a drizzle of nutella.

  18. Candi

I like to stir it until it resembles a very thick shake. So yummy! Vanilla ice cream is like a blank canvas, so many options!

  19. Ashley Shelton

I load mine up with hot carmel topping. Then heavenly sprinkeld with this glazed pecan, walnut, and penaut mix from the Paula Dean products. Finally topped with a dallop of cool whip. This is simply divine!

  20. Nicole

I’d load it up with some yummy fruit like strawberries, kiwi, and pineapple! Then some whip cream and caramel sauce.

  21. robyn

Add a good dose of chocolate syrup, then stir until the consistency is like a thick soup – that’s been my M.O. since childhood.

Thank you for a wonderful give-a-way!

  22. Donna G

First, some Special Dark syrup. Then, a generous spoonful of chocolate Ovaltine. To top it off, some chopped pecans. O my word, I don’t care what the temperature is outside – I want me some chocolate-covered ice cream!

  23. Disneypal

I love VANILLA – I drive my sister crazy when we go to Baskin Robins and they have tons of flavors to choose from and I always get French Vanilla – so good.

  24. Cristie

Well, I would eat the first bowl with some yummy toppings, maybe some maple syrup or fudge. Then my second bowl would be plain!!
    Nielsen Massey products look wonderful!

  25. Brittany

I don’t eat much ice cream anymore because of stomach issues, but when I used to, I would load mine up with powdered peanut butter because it was easier to mix in, nesquick powder, and blue sprinkles just because I like the pop of color while I’m eating it. :)

  26. Leslie W

I love plain unadulterated vanilla ice cream especially when I can see the little specs of vanilla bean in the scoops!

  27. Kathy Everson

I am not a huge fan of plain vanilla ice cream but I LOVE it with chocolate. What an awesome giveaway! Thank you so much.

  28. Lindsay

oooh, yum! our oldest, who’s 4, has a sensitivity to artificial dyes, so i make a lot of things instead of buying… like syrup for chocolate milk. i like to experiment with flavors that compliment the chocolate flavor, so something like this would be fun to play with. :)

  29. Cynthia

The best thing to go with vanilla ice cream is a drizzle of delicious hot fudge sauce. You just cannot beat that combination.

  30. Clair Jordan

I LOVE vanilla everything. When I was pregnant with my youngest, they discontinued Vanilla Coke for a while and I was practically in tears. The local Coke delivery guy saw me in the grocery store and found me a few cases!! I love my Vanilla Ice Cream just straight up. Although if I’ve made some of the Pioneer Woman’s Caramel sauce I wouldn’t mind some of that on top!!

  31. Tiffany

I’m a plain vanilla gal. The one thing I always do is swirl the ice cream around in the bowl until it’s nice and creamy–almost milkshake consistency.

  32. Chris

When it comes to ice cream, I’m a plain vanilla gal. However, my favorite way to eat vanilla ice cream is to pair it with a scoop (or two) of Barefoot Contesa’s Brownie Pudding. Yum!!!!!

  33. Beth Boog

I like to put toppings on HALF of the bowl of ice cream. If I had vanilla I would leave half plain, place a warm brownie underneath the other half and top with crushed peppermint….yum :)

  34. Krystal L.

Oh my goodness, it really depends on my mood. But I love mine with hot fudge, caramel & crushed up pretzels. I’m a sucker for that salty-sweet combo!

  35. Vera

I would either chocolate chips or chocolate syrup on it. If those are not available, I’d go with some cinnamon. If I hadn’t had any breakfast, I’ll add cereal in it. And some cut up bananas. Yum!

  36. Edward

I have to be frank, I just love plain vanilla ice cream. Just the way it is, home style version of course. I like it, the way I like my coffee, black. Enjoying the true taste of what is that particular treat. I don’t like to alter any of it.

  37. Solange

I love vanilla ice-cream for one thing: to make strawberry milkshakes! with fresh, organic, strawberries. YUM! add a scoop of vanilla protein powder, and you got yourself a power shake baby!

  38. Aidan

Since I am more of a chocolate fan, I would top the vanilla with everything chocolate. Pure chocolate syrup…not Hershey’s.. The real chocolate syrup. Maybe throw in some cookie-dough in there. I love a mix of everything. Certainly not a drab, plain guy here!

  39. Devin

If I had a bowl of vanilla ice cream, I would drizzle caramel on top or use the turtle shell toppings made by Smuckers. The only other thing I would do is add some cherries to the top.

  40. Jade

I would make oatmeal butterscotch cookies & put a scoop of the vanilla ice cream in between to make a little cookie sandwhich (: yumm, I used vanilla in almost everything! I’m a freshman in college at West Virginia University & I’m actually starting my own cupcake business out of my dorm & vanilla products are just what I need for the base of a lot of my cakes! I read your blog everyday & draw inspiration from your ideas and travels. Have a good day!

  41. Cheryl Ann

I would leave mine alone, it’s my husband and kids that would load it up with toppings! From chocolate, peanut butter, to candy canes & gummy bears!

  42. Britney V

This giveaway is to die for! As for me, I would leave it plain and stir it up to a “soft serve” consistency :) My Dad used to always do this for me as a young girl. It is something that my husband even does for me now since my Dad passed away. It’s a neat little something I’ll pass along to our children one day :)

Side note: A friend of mine sent me the link to your blog, and I am just thrilled to see how neat it is! She originally sent it to me to see the pictures of your Bostons (I have 2 myself) but I have found your entire site to be GREAT :) I love it & will be a new follower!

  43. Ana

I usually go a little overboard with toppings if I have the option. Fruit, candy pieces, juice jellies, syrup… it is so hard to decide I put all of it on top.

Now for these flavoring… I would looove to use them on homemade microwave popcorn, if I am so luck to be chosen.

  44. Chelsie Graham

Nothing better than the rich flavor of vanilla. Best topping of ice cream to anything and any treat. Plain or fancied up. Mmmmm

  45. Kendra

I would stuff the ice cream between two homemade chocolate chip cookies to make a ice cream sandwich! I would also roll the exposed ice cream sides in multicolored sprinkles :)

  46. Haley Grossman

Now, I would have it w/ waffle cone pieces on top. But thru my pragnancies, my most common craving was vanilla ice cream in a bowl, w/ a little vanilla extract and milk, and would stir until it was a milkshake. I thought I was the only one who did that.
    hgrossman at cableone dot net

  47. Veronica @ Café con Leche

I love my vanilla ice cream with rainbow sprinkles, crushed oreos, and graham crackers. oh and bananas! yum!

  48. Shannon De Ruyter

I add: milk, just enough to soften it, not too runny; chocolate and/or caramel; whatever nut I have on hand (walnuts usually); coconut; liquid coffee creamer if we happen to have it.

  49. nicoleigh

Oh, it totally depends on my mood. Right now, I’d put something minty on it. But I’m also thinking Reese’s Pieces or Peanut Butter Cups. And other times, I’d stick with plain. :)

  50. Juliana Walters

Load it up!!!!! Brownie bites, hot chocolate fudge, carmel, whipped cream, and classic Hershey’s Chocolate sauce!

  51. A. Baldwin

I am a pure vanilla girl….winning this would be dreamy! I’m imagining all of the ways that I could make vanilla the star ingredient and turn my family & friends into vanilla fans, too!!! (Double Vanilla Ice Cream is my fave….MMMmmmmm)

  52. Kristin S

Oh this is one awesome giveaway!

If it is good vanilla ice cream, I want it plain and really cold.

If it is so so, then I love it with Magic Shell.

  53. Emily M

I like magic shell on mine! But my favorite ice cream is cookie’n’cream over vanilla. :) thanks for chance at great giveaway!

  54. Heather

Vanilla Ice cream is good so many ways…lately i have been eating it in a tall glass with rootbeer poured over it but I do love a good hot fudge sundae once in a while too with whip cream, nuts and of course a cherry on top. Thanks for the chance to win these wonderful vanillas :) I hope to be able to incorporate them in my baking and cooking.

  55. Alice S.

I would load up on chocolate and fruit! A favorite in college was chocolate fudge with strawberries. Blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries work well too. Any why not top it all off with a dollop of freshly whipped cream. Mmm. I’m making myself hungry just thinking about it.

  56. Melanie

I don’t care for vanilla ice cream so I’d trash it up with some chocolate vodka, baileys and coffee to make a mudslide type milkshake.

  57. Ellen Sears

I love ice cream, but I want it to have cookies or brownies in the ice cream instead of just plain. Lots of chocolate! So needless to say, when I am baking cookies or brownies I always make sure to have ice cream in the freezer!

  58. Taylor D.

Maybe some homemade butterscotch sauce and dark chocolate chips….YUM! Now this preggo mama wants some ice cream :)

  59. becky

Around the holiday season I like to crush up candy canes finely and sprinkle some on top then mix it all up with a spoon. YUM. I bet some mini chocolate chips stirred in would be mightly fine too. Happy Holidays !!!!! Becky

  60. Megan Simmons

Load it up with chocolate syrup at the very least. Maybe a little peanut butter if I need a bit of salty with the sweet! :)

  61. Erin

I would probably have the ice cream over a warm brownie or chocolate chip cookie, topped with thick hot fudge and possibly some freshly whipped cream…noms!

  62. missty

Vanilla ice cream and fresh strawberries, fell in love with this when I was in NYC from the YOGO yogurt truck. Yum, yum.

  63. Betsy

I love plain vanilla ice cream but some warm fudge (not too hot) would be my ultimate choice. If the topping is too hot the ice cream melts quickly. I like to take my time with it!

    1. kim

Sorry – not sure why this posted twice. The first time it gave me an error saying I had already posted the same response.

  64. Rita D

Oh I’d top it with hot apple pie for sure! Oh, wait…maybe I’d top the apple pie with the vanilla ice cream. Either way it’s Yummy!!

  65. Taleya

I checked out their product website. Amazing things going on over there! I will be picking up vanilla beans to make my own vanilla extract!

  66. Lisa Syler

I would load it up with hot caramel topping, bits of Butterfinger and Reese Peanut Butter cups and whip creeam

  67. Clara Nussbaum

OMG! A “naked” bowl of vanilla ice cream???? Heaven forbid! Mine would have a fudgy brownie broken up in chunks, whipped cream, chocolate fudge sauce & nuts. Maybe a cherry on top ….hmmmm M&M’s and/or toffee bits would maybe be too indulgent???? naaaaaaaaaa

  68. Emily

It’s a toss up! I might follow in my dad’s footsteps and drizzle chocolate syrup all over it, let it melt a little, then stir it into a frosty in a bowl type concoction. My second option would be to cover it with rainbow sprinkles.

  69. Dianna

I wouldn’t put anything on it! I LOVE vanilla ice cream!

Thank you for this chance to win the best vanilla! I use nielsen-Massey all the time!

  70. Miranda @ The Pinterest Project

TOPPINGS!! Chocolate and peanut butter if I’m feeling decadent or fruit if I’m feeling “healthy” :)

  71. Wendy Awald

My grandma got me started on using a little bit of Karo syrup as a topping…sounds weird, but it is actually really good!

  72. Mikki

It would depend on my mood. Sometimes I just want good ol’ fashioned vanilla ice cream! Other days, give me a brownie, and some sprinkles!

  73. Stephanie Higgins

It really depends on the mood I am in. I love it plain, but there are times when I want to be really “bad” and load it up with Chocolate or caramel.

  74. Elizabeth Rhyneer

Home made granola with a little chocolate sauce and chopped walnuts. Headed out to get a bowl NOW…..

  75. Lauren

I like something a little crunchy on the top like sprinkles/jimmies. Hot fudge is good too. Sometimes I’m in the mood for Kahlua or Baileys Irish Creme or Creme de Menthe.

Usually it ends up being what ever I have on hand.

  76. Ana Burrows

Oh, I love vanilla ice cream… all the possibilities! I’d probably eat it with strawberries and whipped cream. Or just plain strawberry syrup.

  77. Nicole Marie

I’d put roasted cinnamon and sugar apples on my vanilla ice cream. Love the creaminess from the ice cream and the warmth from the apples.

  78. Heather :) :) :)

Oh, I love vanilla and especially vanilla ice cream :) :) I would eat vanilla ice cream plain :) :) It’s good just the way it is :) :) We have a Williams-Sonoma and a Sur La Table in my area. :) Thanks for hosting such a fun giveaway :) Love and hugs from the ocean shores of California, Heather :)

  79. Rachel

Not a huge fan of vanilla, so the only other ways I’d have to have it is with rootbeer in a mug or on a plate with a slice of warm apple pie!

  80. Trudy

Unless it was homemade, I’d have to top the vanilla with some chocolate. But what I’d really rather do with it, is use it for the topping of something warm and chocolately or fruity! Yeah. :)

  81. Julie White

I LOVE plain vanilla or anything with almond flavoring but I am NOT afraid to try new flavors! Who doesn’t love ice cream?

  82. Bob King

I believe simple is better so plain vanilla for me. I am not saying that all of the above ideas are not great or that I would turn away any of them (I wouldnt). You just cant go wrong with Ice Cream!!

  83. Jen

I love making my own homemade chocolate sauce then adding a little bit of peanut butter in with it and mixing it all around. It is like a reese’s peanut buter cup.

  84. Kasey

Amanda you are so right!!! They have thee best Vanilla’s. I just love baking with them, they make everything taste better!

  85. Meagan

I would definitely have to make a hot fudge sundae! And to kick it up another notch I would make it a brownie hot fudge sundae! :-)

  86. Mike Brandon

Vanilla ice cream (Here in Texas – it’s Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla) with chocolate and peanut butter sounds good – just add a dash of Tobasco and a little cayenne and either fresh strawberries or strawberry jam. Mix and re-freeze.
    Yummmmm!!

The Nielsen Massey products look great. Can’t wait!

  87. Jenni J

Definitely depends on my mood…sometimes I just want a little Hershey’s chocolate syrup on top, sometimes caramel, sometimes this delicious Trader Joe’s sugar/chocolate/coffee mix…or sometimes with some Bailey’s Caramel! Hope I win!

  88. Katie

What an amazing display of inspiration. Oh the possibilities this holiday season of what can be baked up using these ingredients. I am currently waiting for my homemade vanilla extract to be ready for use, just another three weeks!

  89. Kristi J

Mmmm…. I love old fashion vanilla ice cream as is. When I want to add a little somethin’ somethin’, it’s fresh fruit- strawberries or peaches.

Thanks for hosting such a tasty giveaway! Happy weekend :)

  90. Katy S

Plain vanilla needs something! However, a nice vanilla bean ice cream I could eat plain. I would probably add some chocolate syrup, or just reach for the New York Super Fudge Chunk!

  91. Nancy

Oh, for sure a couple of things added to my bowl of vanilla ice cream – those yummy little mini chocolate chips and my daughter’s home made caramel sauce. Sigh…

  92. Tish Bryant

I love, absolutely LOVE, vanilla ice cream. When I was a little girl, my grandmother would give me a huge scoop of vanilla ice cream on top of a homemade brownie with homemade caramel drizzled on top with whipped cream and fresh pecans from her pecan tree in the front yard! Oh how I miss her! Happy Holidays!!!

  93. Erin M

I come from a long line of ice cream lovers….needless to say we enjoy every way possible! I love vanilla ice cream with some fresh, ripe, in season fruit!

  94. Tara

I would make a brownie mix, put it in my waffle maker & then with my “brownie waffle I’m going to(im only eating 1quarter of it) place the vanilla ice cream on top & a strawberry purée!! With some homemade vanilla whipped topping, delicious!! …think I may have to go make this now since I’m pregnant it may become a “craving” :)

  95. K. Gower

oh I would have to make a mini banana split…chocolate, strawberry and carmel toppings, bananas and whip cream

  96. Candy

I love my vanilla ice cream in a waffle bowl with a little caramel and hot fudge sauce and some pecans sprinkled on top…..usually I just have it plain and it’s just as yummy!!

  97. Monica

I love good ‘ole vanilla…plain and simple. My favorite is Haagen-Dazs 5 (Vanilla Bean, of course!). Oh my gosh. It rocks.

  98. Stacey

Oh LORD! Bourbon Vanilla??!!! I am in love!
I brought home Pure Mexican Vanilla from my honeymoon (in Cabo)… the difference is unbelievable (in a good way!).

  99. Deb

I would top it with my homemade kahlua hot fudge sauce topped with a sprinkling of crushed peppermint candies–yum!

  100. Jenni Caswell

Hmmm…I’d either eat it plain or with caramel sauce on it. Either way, I’d let it sit out for a bit so it is nice and soft and melty! Yummm….now I want ice cream for breakfast!

  101. tracy gray

I ove pain vanilla ice cream, but sometimes I’ll drizzle a little carmel and chocolate and let it melt a little til its good and soft then stir it all up..

  102. Shirley

would make into chocolate milk shake with 1 extra scope of ice cream on top and sprinkle with ground vanilla beans….yum yum….

  103. Doni

My husband makes the best homemade vanilla ice cream. I could eat it right out of the ice cream maker, if he didn’t stop me. I love everything vanilla. I even spray myself with vanilla perfume from The Body Shop. :)

  104. Tasha

I love plain vanilla. But when I’m in need for an all sugar pick me up, warmed chocolate or carmel sauce and peanut pieces sprinkled on top is the only way to go!

  105. pandora

If it’s a good quality Vanilla ice cream I eat it plain without any toppings as not to distract from the subtle flavor. And if its a ho-hum store bought vanilla, then love pairing it with salted caramel or lashings of bitter dark chocolate syrup.

  106. Stacie M

I would eat the vanilla ice cream on top of apple crisp or topped with chocolate, peanut butter and crushed up pretzels!! YUM, wish I had some now :)

  107. Kristen

I’d add some fresh pecans and some peanut butter. YUM. (Definitely doesn’t help one fit into their wedding dresses though…LOL)

    Great give away!

  108. Tammy V

This is such a wonderful giveaway, thanks! I always add something. Ganache is one of my favorite things to add to any flavor!

  109. Mary E

I would put some heath bar chips in the ice cream, a little coconut and some toasted pecans. This down-home girl likes to dress up her vanilla!!!!!

  110. Jenny

Lately I’ve been enjoying vanilla ice cream with a healthy drizzle of homemade vanilla bean caramel sauce – sooo good!

  111. Katie

Mmmm! If it’s home-made vanilla, it shouldn’t need anything. If it’s store-bought, then I’ll add home-made butterscotch sauce or Magic Shell topping — or both! YUM!

  112. Melinda W

My bowl of vanilla ice cream would be topped by rich chocolate – fudge? – sauce, and toashed almonds… chopped. YUMMY!

  113. Betsy

Oooh. Love vanilla! Good thing this comes with a recipe book! Outside of cookies
I wouldn’t know what to do with most of this! Yum!

  114. Monica

I love to add a little bit of instant coffee on my ice cream – it’s like java sprinkles! Top it with whip cream & I am a happy girl :)

  115. Lydia

This is going to sound strange, but I like to sprinkle some tang powdered drink mix on vanilla ice cream. Learned this when I was little from my nana and it’s yummy!

  116. Linda Smith

Home made ice cream made with premium vanilla is all that is required. Vanilla ice cream is so good just by itself.

  117. TJ

Fantastic give-away!!! I’m with Kevin on this one! Once in a while though, I’ll sprinkle only cinnamon on it.

  118. Jennifer C

I love vanilla because you can leave it or dress it up. My most favorite would be melted peanut butter with chopped honey roasted peanuts and dark chocolate shavings!

  119. Amanda Kay Tea

I would put a giant scoop of peanut butter on it then mix it up to have my own peanut butter ice cream!! YUmmy!!

  120. Traci Downing

My hubby will mix up Oreo’s, M&M’s, cookie dough, or Peanut Butter Cups in my vanilla ice cream…whatever I’m in the mood for:-)

  121. Kelly Robison

I would eat mine plain but if I were to choose a topping, it would just be good old fashioned Hersey’s chocolate syrup.

  122. ShareABitOfLove

Oh my, my- there would certainly be some amazing baking going on in my house. Vanilla ice cream with homemade caramel sauce…or to please my inner child, marshmallow creme!

  123. Amy C.

Well it all depends of what flavor of ice cream it is. If it is plain vanilla (and NOT homemade) I would add some chocolate and caramel syrup on it, maybe some M&Ms or Reece’s or maybe even some Butterfinger. But if it’s like some fancy flavor, you don’t need toppings!!!!

  124. Wendy

Mmm… Vanilla ice cream, angel food cake chunks, pineapple, sliced strawberries and crunchy toasted pecans with whipped cream on top.

  125. Katarina H

I would just add some fresh raspberries, preferably ones picked straight from the garden that are still a little warm from the sun. It makes for the perfect bowl of ice cream, so refreshing and the flavours work so well!

  126. Ashleigh

Mmmm… give me vanilla ice cream and I have to top it with Magic Shell (the chocolate that hardens) or chocolate syrup. YUM… off to find ice cream!

  127. Amanda J

I would definitely put chocolate syrup, marshmallows and a cherry on it.
I have never used good vanilla so I really, really hope I win this. I have only used Walmart brand vanilla. :(

  128. Vivian

As a general rule I prefer it plain, but have been known to drown it in chocolate syrup and/or throw in some nuts and maybe banana slices.

  129. Shannon

I like to add a pineapple sauce/topping along with roasted, salted cashews! My favie! Thanks for hosting such a cool giveaway!!

  130. Janet

Wow what a great offer. Thanks so much for the opportunity. I would put fresh raspberries on the vanilla ice and maybe sprinkle some white chocolate chips on it too.

  131. Janet

Wow what a great offer! I love blueberries and raspberries on vanilla ice cream – maybe some white chocolate chips sprinkled on too!

  132. Hayley

I’m pregnant with twins, so I’d definitely be loading up on the toppings! Homemade magic shell, tons of sprinkles, and some super thick homemade whipped cream! Maybe I’d throw some blueberries on there so I can pretend I’m being healthy :)

  133. Melody McCann

I’d top the vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup and chopped pecans. You can’t go wrong with a classic ice cream dessert like that.

  134. Christie Ryan

Tons of toppings and don’t forget the whipped cream too! If your gonna eat ice cream, might as well go all out haha!

  135. Lauren

Lurker here . . . coming out for the amazing giveaway! I am topping person, absolutely. That bowl of vanilla ice cream would have hot fudge, salty peanuts, and something gourmet – like homemade marshmallows!

  136. Kelsey

I’m so excited for this giveaway! Crossing my fingers! I would top my ice cream with a lot of fresh raspberries and homemade whipped cream. Yum!

  137. April was in CT now CA

Can I add other ice cream flavors and the fixin’s for a banana split? If so, that’s my choice! I haven’t had a banana split in years.

  138. Crystal

I’d have it with whatever other baked dessert happens to be sitting in the kitchen. Apple pie? Yes! Berry cobbler? Double yes! Or, if I’m craving a chocolate fix – a nice, warm, unbelievably fudgy brownie… YUM!

  139. Janie Hyde

I love vanilla ice cream because you can put so much with it. I would make home made hot fudge sauce and pour it on the ice cream, straight up chocolate and vanilla, you can’t beat it!

  140. Lisa

Load it up! Chocolate, caramel, sprinkles, nuts, whipped cream, yummy! My husband would like it turned into a chocolate milkshake.

  141. Brandy

Caramel and peanuts… and maybe a hint of fudge. Oh man. I’d love that about now, even if it is 20 degrees outside!

  142. dana @ my little celebration

If I had a plain bowl of ice cream I’d smother it in peanut butter sauce, sliced bananas, chocolate syrup and whipped cream! Oh and nuts!

  143. brandi

we dont normally buy plain vanilla ice cream unless its for pies..but if i had no other ice cream, id eat it! with toppings or without, simply becuase i love ice cream!

  144. Angela L

If it’s really, really, really good vanilla ice cream (like the type made with the Tahitian Vanilla above!) it goes down plain. If it leaves something to be desired in the vanilla department maybe a little hot fudge or butterscotch!

  145. Dana

Hot fudge, whipped cream, and maybe some crushed Oreos for good measure! Yum…now I want ice cream and fancy vanilla!

  146. Jiji

Mmmm….load it with toppings for sure :)
maybe some crushed Oreos with hot fudge and caramel….Oh! I can just taste it now!! Yum.

  147. jessica w.

The ice cream question is hard, normally I would add chocolate syrup. Sometimes, if it is GREAT ice cream I will eat it alone. Btw, Congrats on being healthier and loosing weight, you are an inspiration to us all!

  148. Beverly R.

Definitely would put some really good caramel sauce and pecans! I love vanilla plain as well, but turtle sundae sure sounds good!

  149. Angie

Imagine you have a bowl of vanilla ice cream in front of you. Do you eat it plain or load it up with toppings?

I’d load it up with peanuts and caramel!

  150. Jill

I would have the ice cream plain or maybe just add a few rasberries. Homemade vanilla icecream is meant to be savored!!

  151. Melissa

My newest favorite topping (and it’s healthy because I have to eat healthier to lower my high blood pressure) is wheat germ. I would top that with vanilla ice cream, vanilla yogurt or just about anything else. I’ve even used it as a coating for chicken and it turned out oh so good. Would love to win these vanillas and try various cooking ideas with them.

    ~ Sincerely ~

    Melissa Kalson

  152. Lauren

if it’s haagen dazs vanilla, it doesn’t need a thing! otherwise, i love, love caramel with my vanilla ice cream!

  153. Sandra

i would definitely have to agree with kevin. chocolate and peanut butter. Reminds me of Reese’s cups. Yummers.

  154. Amy

I love adding chocolate syrup and mixing it all up into ice cream soup! I know it’s childish, but I much prefer soft serve over solid ice cream!

  155. JennStar

I’d add just a bit of fudge and a sprinkle of nuts!!
(btw- the vanilla bean paste is my all time favorite Nielsen Massey product- I don’t use exract anymore, just my paste!!

  156. Mindy Kammerdiener

I will eat any type of ice cream made any way, except that I do not like to mix nuts with ice cream.

  157. Jennifer Dayley

All of what I’ve read on the comments is great!!! I KNOW this is gonna sound totally weird, but put your ice cream (or make your own) into a good blender, add almost the same amount fresh baby spinach, & blend it. You CANNOT tell the spinach is in there! No joke! Adding any of these vanilla products would make it even better. YUM!!!!! My son doesn’t eat any veges. This is the only way I can get him to eat them. Green ice cream or green smoothies :D

  158. vanessa

OMG, What a great giveaway. I can only imagine what I could come up with all that vanilla. Good Luck everyone

  159. kellie

My absolute favorite is vanilla ice cream! I would crush up health, oreos, melted chocolate, and peanut butter!! Yummmmmmmmm!!!

  160. Carolyn Williams

Oh for sure I would add fresh strawberries in season OR frozen “cutie” segments chopped into bits for that “dreamcicle” taste…Yummmmmmmmm!!!

  161. Amy H.

I’m with Kevin. I would totally add chocolate and peanut butter! Yummo! Thanks for another great giveaway.

  162. JH

for a while I’d melt peanut butter and put marshmallows on it. YUM! but my long time favorite is crushed chips ahoy and mini mnms.

  163. Nancy Smelser

Yummm! This sounds like a wonderful , truly exciting giveaway! Wish me luck. If I had a bowl of ice cream, I would definitely add some nuts and HOT fudge. Amazing!

  164. Linda Hare

I love real vanilla. For a while I couldn’t figure out what was wrong with the vanilla I was using as the flavor just wasn’t strong or right. Then I realized it was immitation vanilla. Now I pay close attention to the labels and only buy real vanilla extract. It makes a world of differences in your cooking.

  165. Diane R

I love it plain but it’s even better with some chocolate sauce, whipped cream and egg nogg or strawberries. Yum!

  166. Bev

Depends on the mood i’m in. Usually i’m plain jane and love a bowl of vanilla ice cream, but sometimes you have to throw a brownie or some chocolate in there.

  167. JessicaSzeto

i like mine with little mochi cubes (they’re like tiny little rice cakes great for yogurt or icecream topping), bananas, strawberries, and OF COURSE RAINBOW SPRINKLES!

  168. Briana

This looks awesome! I would love to win. And then I could use some of those yummy vanillas to make your macarons I’ve been dying to make!

Mmmmmm. Vanilla ice cream. I’d take it plain but after a 10 second spin in the microwave. I like mine a little soupy. ;-)

  169. kindra loewen

if its homemade vanilla its good plain… i like fresh strawberries or some butter sauce on top tho too :) hope to win and thanks for the chance

  170. Jen

Vanilla ice cream must not be eaten without a rich chocolate fudge sauce. I love the contrast between the cold ice cream and warm fudge!

  171. Terri

The best way to dress up vanilla ice cream is to slide a warm brownie undereneath, add some hershey’s on top and some sprinkles and make your taste buds happy!!!

  172. Kimberly Sterling

I would use either caramel sauce or peanut butter, then top it of with loads of whipped cream. Yum!

  173. Thesha

It’s a toss up between eating it plain and topping it with homemade strawberry sauce and mini chocolate chips! Yum!!

  174. Heather Spooner

If I have Oreos in the house, I’d crumble those into the vanilla. But if not, I would eat it plain. Thanks for the awesome giveaway!

  175. sharon dale

make homemade waffles all the time…. would love to use it in them and try new recipes! then sprinkle with the vanilla sugar…how yummy!

  176. Katie

I would load it up!! Sometimes I use a million different toppings, and sometimes I just like a lot of one topping. Sometimes I gotta go with what I got, which is usually holiday colored sprinkles….from a holiday that is at least 6 months away.

  177. Sonjasunshine

Well, I’d load myself up a classic ole hot fudge sundae – chocolate syrup, whipped cream and a cherry (or 2 or 10) on top. No nuts for me, though!

  178. Rachel

Ohhh, some hot fudge and maybe some chopped nuts. I might have to pick up some vanilla ice cream on the way home tonight! :0)

  179. Aggie

I love this brand of vanilla…its all I use! I haven’t tried the other flavorings, though, so I look forward to that! Thank you for the giveaway!

  180. Petra

I’d put a little chocolate on top and then stir it until it’s like a milkshake in a bowl. I’ve done this since I was little, and my family thinks it’s weird :)

  181. Kate

I would add some fresh strawberries (preferably from our garden…but since it’s not that time of year….frozen would do!) YUMMMM

  182. Alberta

I like to spice up vanilla ice cream with toppings. Usually my toppings of choice are what I have on hand… chocolate syrup, crushed peanuts and whipped topping. Yummo!

Thanks for the opportunity to win!

  183. Diane Loviza

I grew up in a family with 7 kids…it was wonderful, but money was very tight. Mom used to buy ‘imitation’ vanilla extract, because that’s what we could afford. I’ll never forget the first thing I tasted with real vanilla – French Vanilla ice cream, with all of those wonderful tiny black dots of flavor. Such a great memory! Here’s hoping I get a chance to try some new vanilla items…

  184. Hilary

My new favorite “mix-in” is chunky peanut butter! My old favorite is Nestle Quick powder with peanuts. Such an awesome giveaway – thanks!!!

  185. Angela

I love ice cream in just about any form it comes in. If given a bowl of vanilla ice cream, I’d add flaked coconut, walnuts, and chocolate syrup. Yum!

  186. Melissa Jackson

If given the option, I would always have vanilla ice cream with Jack’s (my husband’s grandpa) homemade chocolate sauce…AMAZING!

  187. Jill

It would depend on my mood. I probably would go plain vanilla most of the time but there are other times I would add chocolate and nuts.

  188. LaWanda

Although I am not an ice cream fan, I do like the banana split flavor. Whenever I eat it (which is rarely), I like to top it with chocolate fudge sauce and pecans… yummy.

  189. Laurie Ann Phinney

    Dear Amanda –
Vanilla is My All Time Favorite Flavor and Favorite Scent – Hands Down. I Wouldn’t Add a Thing – The More Vanill-a-e, the Better. Even a Dab Behind Each Ear Brightens the Dullest of Winter Days. Smiles…
Thank You For the Opportunity to Win a Batch of Vanilla Heaven!
    Hugs from Laurie AKA Idgie

  190. Maggie @ Midwestern {Sewing} Girl

Oh, what a wonderful giveaway! Thank you so much for the chance to win! Hmmm…vanilla ice cream, huh? I would add chocolate sauce, caramel sauce & pretzels…oh man…yum…;)

  191. Tara @ Creole Paperie

I slice a banana over the top and add just a tiny bit of chocolate sauce & caramel sauce. Yum!

  192. Heidi

Vanilla ice cream? Not when I get done with it. First, I’m adding super chunky peanut butter and chocolate syrup. Then, salted crispy chips. Nothing goes better with ice cream than potato chips, well maybe french fries but that’s debatable.

  193. Sam @ The Second Lunch

Depends on the season. In summer, I’d add some macerated strawberries and a sprinkle of black pepper. In winter, maybe some stewed dried fruits, and a pour of brandy or amaretto.

  194. Alvina

I’d eat it plain… esp if it’s like French Vanilla… and if I had toppings, maybe throw in a few chocolate chips.

  195. Carri Ann

I would put that vanilla ice cream on top of a brownie, then cover it all with hot fudge! MMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  196. Mary

It depends on the brand. If it’s not that tasty by itself, then I would add toppings. If it’s a good brand, then I’d eat it plain.

  197. Jill t

    Yummy!

Due to dairy allergies in our house, I would make some coconut vanilla ice cream with our ice cream maker.

  198. Ellen

Hot fudge, M&Ms, hot caramel, marshmallow cream, bananas, some cherries, and I’d probably add a brownie in there, essentially I’d have “the works”. Life is Good :)

  199. DeAnne Smith

oooh….what a hard decision. I’m torn between chocolate sauce and walnuts or adding some almond extract and crushing some waffle cone on top. mmmmm….now I want ice cream. :)

  200. Sabrina Jackson

For me it depends on what kind of vanilla ice cream. For regular vanilla, I would add some chocolate and sprinkles. If it’s vanilla bean, I would leave it plain. Vanilla bean is so delicious!

  201. India H

I’d definitely grab some brownies or maybe some cookie dough to pop on top of that ice cream! You can’t forget hot fudge or caramel sauce either. Yay!

  202. Melinda Foil

I love plain vanilla ice cream, but nothing beats adding some chopped pecans and real whipping cream to the top!

  203. Kelly

Ooh! What a nice giveaway! Depending on what I had around, I’d definitely go for some caramel topping, possibly mixed with chocolate as well. Great. Now I want ice cream. ;)

  204. sharon @ Lilikoi Joy

Mmm, I love a good vanilla ice cream with hot salted caramel sauce, AND a little hot fudge. I’d eat it for awhile just as-is while the sauces were still warm, then I’d stir it up in the bowl until it was the consistency of a Wendy’s frosty and eat the rest of it. I might be tempted to lick the bowl too. :)

  205. TJ

I’d load it up, if I could. Lol, I have gestational diabetes at the moment, so no ice cream for me. Maybe in about a month or two after this wee one is in my arms, not my belly! :-) Thanks, Amanda!

  206. SheRocS

I would cover it in chopped up candy bar sprinkles and then shove it b/t 2 fabulous, warm, chocolate chip cookies and make it into one of my fav desserts… dun, dun, dun….”the cookie sandwich”, I mean can you really go wrong with that? I think not.

  207. Debbie Painter

I would top it with Hot Fudge & Yummy Caramel!!! What a Fantastic Giveaway!!!
Thank you so much for the chance to win!!!!

  208. Christa

I would go with warm cherry pie filling but one of my boys would have it with cashews and Kit Kat pieces and the other with hot fudge, caramel, and Snickers pieces- what a combo!

  209. Lisa

Oh plain all the way! I wouldn’t dare cover up the goodness of vanilla ice cream!! On Man! I love ice cream!!!! Thanks!

  210. Amanda

There’s something about chocolate chips on vanilla ice cream that makes my taste buds sing. I love how the chips get cold and crunchy against the smooth vanilla ice cream!

  211. Ashley Parker

Ice cream is my absolute favorite thing to eat! When I’m being really bad, I eat it with oreos, hot fudge, and rainbow sprinkles :)

  212. Miranda

I LOVE cookie dough – my favorite is cookie dough mix ins :-) This is the neatest giveaway! Thank you so much for giving us all the chance to win!!!

  213. Azalea Perkins Chriss

I would put my Vanilla Ice cream ontop of the Oreo Chocolate Chip Cookie Brownies that I made. By the way thank you for the receipe ;)

  214. Alyce R.

I’m usually a plain-jane kind of girl but being that it’s almost lunchtime, and I am starving, I’d say that I would have to pile the vanilla icecream on top of a warm brownie; add some whipped topping and drizzle with chocolate sauce. Yum-o!

  215. Jennifer S

If we’re talking vanilla ice cream then I ALWAYS load up the chocolate syrup or caramel syrup. If we’re talking vanilla froyo then I reach for the rainbow sprinkles.
    Without fail.

  216. Kim G

Oooooh, the possibilities are endless, really. But, I’m a sucker for the plain ole’ vanilla with hot fudge/chocolate syrup sundae. Nice heaping helping of whipped cream and some toasted peanuts…..mmmmmmmmmmmm…..good! ;) K, think I’ve decided on what I’m having for lunch………..

  217. Sara Fehling

I’d top the bowl with chocolate syrup and salted nuts. YUM! Oh, and maybe a little caramel sauce too. :)

  218. Lori Kae

I would add some crushed cookies and/or mini or mint chocolate chips! :) A milkshake like this would be even better. :) Thanks for the chance.

  219. Lindsay J.

Oh I would be in heaven if I won this!!
I would crumble up some cookies and then pour lots of hot fudge over the top. YUM!

  220. Carmens

Ohhhhh – I would put one big fuzzy socks, put in a Christmas Story and warm brownie up and let the ice cream slowly melt all over it. Sit on the couch and disappear into heaven!

  221. Jill W

I love vanilla ice cream all by itself, especially if it’s vanilla bean ice cream, but if I had to add a topping it would probably be hot fudge!

  222. Natalee Darden

This Christmas I am making homemade Icecream. I will have to indulge and purchase some Tahitian vanilla! Perfect! I have wanted to make my own! I can’t wait to try it!

  223. Max

I would definitely add some berries on top of that ice cream. Probably some strawberries, raspberries, maybe even a few blue berries.

  224. Heather Michelle

Add some magic shell! That way, you get some chocolate, but its gone before you get to the ice cream and still get that pure vanilla!

  225. Tracey

I would add chocolate syrup, ground flax seed and wheat germ! Sounds like I’m trying to make it all healthy and stuff, but really it just tastes great that way! :-)

  226. Katelyn

I load my ice cream up! Chocolate, caramel, sprinkles, cookie dough, chocolate pieces and all sorts of wonderful-ness! :)

  227. Brooke

I’d make my ice cream into a banana split- bananas, ice cream, hot fudge sauce, lots of crushed peanuts, and some cherries on top!

  228. Glynis

Nothing is better than warm blackberry syrup and crumbled up pie crust on top of vanilla ice cream. Just like grandma used to make!

  229. Amanda T.

I LOVE homemade ice cream so I would eat that plain! But store ice cream I would have at least one topping on.

  230. Beth Gupta

I’d pour on some caramel and M&M’s… and maybe some Reese’s peanut butter cups? Too much?? Nah.. of course not. :)

  231. Debby

There is nothing like good vanilla when you are baking. These sound wonderful.

Oh and now you have me craving a vanilla milk shake, darn you.

  232. Christy Ziesmer

I would add the chocolate topping that hardens as it gets cold, then top with chocolate syrup & caramel. Yummy!

  233. Emily

I LOVE sprinkles. So if I didn’t make a milkshake out of if (with sprinkles of course), then I would leave it plain and eat it with LOADS of sprinkles…maybe a dash of cinnamon on top:)

  234. Lori

I usually eat mine with just a touch of chocolate syrup and peanuts! Yum, or else the great chocolate milkshake! Love them both.

  235. Demetria

I love my vanilla ice cream with additives. Sometimes cake. Sometimes cookies. I really love to put roasted peanuts with carmel sauce. Yummo!!!!

    Thanks for the chance!
    Demetria
    createlms_dw2003 at yahoo dot com

  236. Alexandria

I would make it into a milkshake too, with a little added vanilla extract to make it super ridiculously vanilla. Yum

  237. Doris

I’d put some type of topping on it. But I’ve never been know to turn down a bowl of ice cream w/o topping either.

  238. Niancki Anderson

Oh wow! Vanilla is my absolute weakness ! I would definitely eat it the way it is. I love the vanilla flavor, it’s my favorite ! I’m keeping my fingers crossed on this “give away”. You do come up with some very interesting ones !

    Thanks so much !

  239. KellyRae

I like to eat warm peanut butter cookies with my vanilla ice cream (yum). Thanks for the opportunity to win this fabulous vanilla ensemble.

  240. yuki

I would top it with fruit! Strawberries are my fave, but I like to add hazelnut slices, chocolate sauce and a bit of whipped cream! YUM~~~

  241. GinaE

Slice strawberries and whipped cream for me with my ice cream. If I had a brownie to put on the bottom, even better!

  242. Lisa

If it’s really good vanilla ice cream, I can easily eat it plan, but I also like a simple topping of some really good homemade hot fudge sauce.

  243. Elaine Allen

    Hi Amanda –

What an awesome giveaway, I can almost smell the Vanilla and extracts from here! Yummy! And as for how would I eat the vanilla ice cream, well, I would let it almost turn into soup and then savor it. Oh heck, now I need some ice cream – LOL!

    Elaine Allen

  244. Becky

In college we would put captain crunch on top of plain soft serve vanilla ice cream — it was like eating a slightly frozen bowl of cereal and it was delicious! So I could do that… or I might just go with chocolate syrup and strawberries. Both would be fine by me!

  245. Liz Cook

I love vanilla ice cream but it has to be rich, creamy vanilla ice cream. I love chocolate, whipped cream on top with nuts and sprinkles! Yum….I need to have some now! Sometimes when I have fresh strawberries, I like to add those, too!

  246. Debbie Hall

Thank you so much for all of your beautiful pictures, ideas and recipes. I enjoy getting your emails every day and checking you out on facebook!!!!

  247. Gwen W

I would have to add something to it, at least Chocolate or Coffee. As much as you love Vanilla, I’m a Chocolate girl. No plain vanilla for me :-)

  248. cheryl

These products are wonderful! Vanilla and their other extracts. I use their Tahitian Vanilla in whipped cream, and buttercream icings for a delicate taste. Their Vanilla Bean Paste makes a extra yummy vanilla bean flavor when I want Vanilla Cupcakes with a vanilla bean icing. No matter if you win or lose, take a look at their products!!!!!

  249. Delisa Taylor

OH WOW! I can’t even begin to imagine how may different flavors of ice cream you could have. I LOVE ice cream, so I would love to try to figure out how many different flavors I could make!!!!! YUM!!!!

  250. Jade N

I would totally leave it plain…especially if it’s vanilla bean ice cream. The little specks of beans are as good as sprinkles in my book!

  251. Jennifer Madigan

My husband always laughs at me but I like to let my ice cream melt slightly until it’s creamy and smooth. If I don’t want to wait I microwave it for about 10 seconds, just enough to accomplish the same thing.

  252. Elizabeth

oh I would definitley have to put a side of fresh homemade blackberry pie/cobbler with vanilla ice cream…make my mouth water just thinking about it!

  253. Rachel @ Baked by Rachel

vanilla ice cream almost always gets topped with strawberry sauce if I’m eating it. the more the better!

  254. Erin D

Hmm. I think homemade vanilla ice cream with fresh strawberries and peaches would be DIVINE! Although Kevin’s idea sounds pretty fantastic as well. Great giveaway! Love your site! :)

  255. Fran

I love to put cut up banana, peanuts and chocolate syrup on my ice cream. Makes me feel “healthy” with the fruit! lol. Thanks for the chance.

  256. Linda S,

I will definately have a “pink Cow”. Vanilla, Barq’s Cream Soda, whipped cream with a cherry! Yummmmmmmmmmm.

  257. Lindsey C.

Since I LOVE ice cream, I would take mine all sorts of different ways… I guess my absolute favorite would be to agree with Kevin, only add Almond Joy bites to the mix and a black cherry… Mmmm… Just thinking about it makes me want some right now!…

  258. Kelly

I do like plain vanilla if it’s really good quality ice cream. For a topping I would put on crushed Butterfinger.

  259. Laura

I would top it with warm apple crisp (or the other way round) and only dig in when it starts to get soft and melty!

  260. Jodi

I would either pour yummy homemade hot fudge over it (has to homemade or not worth it) or make it a rootbeer float!

  261. RaChelle S.

Ooo, yummy giveaway! I most often like my ice cream plain, BUT occasionally love to pile up lots of goodies and make a sundae!

  262. Kathy Miller

I love trail mix on top of my vanilla ice cream and if I don’t have that on hand plain is best!! Thanks for the opportunity to win the flavorings!!

  263. Jenny Christian

Add mini chocolate chips and a thin layer of milk. Let it harden slightly and then mix it up a bit. It’s gotta be vanilla bean ice cream though! :)

  264. Lori C

I’m totally a toppings girl. Which kind depends on the season… strawberries and whipped cream… cinnamon and apple pie filling… chocolate sauce and candy canes… The list is a long one!

  265. Paulette

I love to put corn syrup on my vanilla icecream.. simple yet sooo yummy! My son has rainbow sprinkles everytime.. and ends up with rainbow dot marks on his nose and around his mouth.. and he’s 8! ;)

  266. Larissa

HOT FUDGE & homemade whipped cream. Maybe a few ripe strawberries or even raspberries. Yummy! I fell in love with some Mexican Vanilla I purchased at in Cancun. It was soooo good. I would love to try some other types of vanilla products. thanks for the contest!

  267. Sydni Cline

Depends on the day, some days, plain would be yummy. Others I’d add rootbeer to it and make a shake, others I’d add oreos for a yummy cookies & cream…

  268. Lisa Johnson

I ♥ me some maraschino (spelling?) cherries & pour the juice over the ice cream and mix it together to make a cherry shake type concoction. SO GOOD!

  269. Meghan

I’m all about sprinkles (or, as we call them in New England, jimmies.) Load me up on those on the bottom and top of my ice cream please, just like my favorite local place does! :)

  270. Robin Welch

I would do one of two things… either crumble saltine crackers on it or top it with uncooked oatmeal and a little bit of carmel sauce.

  271. Amber Lewis

It depends on my mood…sometimes you can’t beat plain ol vanilla ice cream. Other days I throw some chocolate chips and chocolate syrup on there and make it a party.

  272. Denise N

OK, I would start with the vanilla ice cream “base” and then add some caramel, chocolate, nuts, some whipped topping and a few mini chocolate chips! (Peanut butter is another good thing to add or some powered hot chocolate mix)! Yum!

  273. Jen Friesz

MMMmmm… add a drizzle of maple syrup top off with some pumkin pie spice and and you have the most amzing pumkin pie ice cream ever!!

  274. Martha

Definitely with toppings … homemade hot fudge and caramel sauce, maybe some crushed butterfingers or oreos …

  275. Kirsten

Load it up! Caramels, chocolates, fruits, syrups, toffee chunks (CANNOT forget the toffee) and soooooo much more. Vanilla is good, but divine with toppings!

  276. Jennifer O

I would leave it plain but add a little bit of milk on it to make the outside of the ice cream have a nice crunch to it.

  277. Jewels

I love it plain. But on special occasions I would put some fresh made caramel along with the little chocolate chips. Oh it is so yummy!!

  278. Kelly Jo

Oh wow, I love to make my own coffee creamer and I use a cheaper pure vanilla. I cannot imagine how much a quality vanilla would improve my creamer!!

  279. Heather

hmmm… I’d either put some crumbled PB cups on top, or, if I’m feeling nostalgic and remembering nights at the grandparents cottage, I’d put some magic shell on top. :)

  280. YvonneC

Yum. I could really go for a bowl of ice cream right now! Depending on my mood, I would eat the vanilla plan or top it with warm caramel sauce, sliced banana and some whipped topping/cool whip.

  281. Kat Meller

I’m a vanilla girl – i have vanilla candles and fragrances and shower gels – i even make my own vanilla for baking but vanilla ice cream just calls for something …. either apple pie below it or chocolate fudge and nuts above.

  282. Barb

Plain vanilla ice cream in front of me would require the addition of some fruit and then Smuckers Chocolate Magic Shell :D

  283. Tracy

I love a good vanilla extract. I use it for any baking need such as homemade chocolate chip cookies or brownies. I do prefer to eat ice cream plain. Thanks for the lovely giveaway.

  284. Mel H

Plain vanilla…uh, no. That’s like a sin or something. Has to have some chocolate, or fruit, or sprinkles or something. Vanilla is always better when it has a friend!

  285. Angela

If it’s a really good vanilla ice cream, I’ll often leave it plain. Other times though, I like to load it up with fruit and a bit of chocolate sauce.

  286. Laura H

Oh ice cream is a HUGE weakness of mine! I love putting strawberries, bananas, and chocolate syrup on my ice cream, but the other thing I love to do with a bowl of vanilla ice cream is put it in the blender with oreos and make a milkshake! My mouth is watering just thinking about it =)

  287. Jen O

Really good vanilla bean ice cream should be left alone or topped with dark chocolate topping or shavings… Yum!

  288. Michelle

I just made some chocolate chip cookies for my office holiday party. I think a warm cookie with some vanilla icecream and a little bit of hot fudge sounds like heaven!!

  289. Sharie T

Ok, you probably think I am a suck-up, but my fav is vanilla milkshakes too….HOWEVER, have you tried putting just a couple drops of pure vanilla extract it? Try it…..YUM!!!
Also, try vanilla extract in your french toast batter…again…YUM! :)

    Thanks for sharing…again.

  290. Beverly

Oh my goodness! What an *amazing* give-away! Thank you for the opportunity!

I’d pile raspberries all over that ice cream. Mmmm ….

  291. Heather Mayberry

vanilla, yum! i would definitely eat it plain. if i turned it into a milkshake i’d have to throw some oreos in there!

  292. Susan

I load it up with gooey goodness – chocolate and caramel are my favorites. Add a little nuts and everything is perfect!

  293. Kimberli

I’m a topping girl – usually chocolate chips or m&ms – thanks for the chance to win this yummy giveaway!

  294. Amanda Brandeburg

I would def. eat it plain because when you start adding all the toppings the flavors of the vanilla get muddled with all that additional sugar.

  295. Cheryl

I’m on a huge caramel kick right now…so I think I would do caramel sauce, a hint of sea salt, and chocolate sprinkles :)

  296. Melissa

Reese’s, caramel, hot fudge, heath bits…yum!! A lot of toppings is usually what I prefer, but sometimes you can’t go wrong with a perfect, plain vanilla.

  297. Debra D.

I love vanilla ice cream, either plan or sometimes I may add some fresh berries, blackberries are my favorite!

  298. Laura S.

A good vanilla bean ice cream requires no additional toppings. Otherwise, my go to topping is always caramel.

  299. zaara

Yum!I would go for chocolate and some nuts! That’s my kind!
By the way a milkshake is not a bad idea either!

  300. Kathy H

Plain or load it up? I would load it up! I’d pour on chocolate syrup then crushed Oreo Cookies on top…Mmmm

  301. Shannon T

I would add either chocolate fudge or caramel. Something about the melting ice cream and hot toppings is amazing!

  302. Tess

These sound absolutely insane for all the Christmas cookies that will be created in the next few weeks! Coffee vanilla – who knew!

  303. Debra

I would have to put the vanilla ice cream on top of a yummy brownie and smother it with hot fudge sauce and top with whipped cream! My favorite dessert!

  304. Laurel G

I love to put chocolate syrup on it and then some colorful sprinkles! (the sprinkles in the clown bottle are the best) :)

  305. Jill

I would definitely load it up with hot fudge and/or melted peanut butter. Maybe crumble some pb cups on there too. Or whatever candy/cookies I have handy. If it’s vanilla, I definitely have to load it up. :)

  306. Jessica

The best part of ice cream is the toppings in my opinion! :) I would add chocolate, brownies, peanut butter cups, caramel – the whole 9 yards really!

  307. Maureen

While I do love plain vanilla ice cream there are times I would add some warm caramel sauce and toffee bits to it.

  308. Colleen

My favorite is vanilla Haagen Dazs topped with sliced bananas and dark chocolate sauce (and maybe some whipped cream). YUMMY!

  309. Amber

That’s a tough one, normally I like my vanilla ice cream (my fav flavor!) plain, but every once in a while, I am in the mood for some chocolate topping :).

  310. Amber

That’s a tough one, normally I like my vanilla ice cream (my fav flavor!) plan, but every once in a while, I am in the mood for some chocolate topping :).

  311. Misty Pursiful

I love vanilla ice cream floating in chocolate syrup. It never even looks like there is any ice cream in the bowl…but I love it :)

  312. hailey

oh wow, i dont think i have ever been more excited bout a giveaway!! i love to add toasted nuts (pecans, walnuts, whatever i have available) and sprinkles! yum :)

  313. Nuria

For other kind of flavor I would go for toppings but for my loved vanilla ice cream … I like just to eat it in all its gorgeous glory!

  314. Reagan

Holidays mean making our favorite Italian cookies, Pizelles. We especially love to make ice cream sandwiches with them, and serve them with a big bowl of chocolate gelato. We add candies, hazelnuts, all sorts of syrups and my favorite-sprinkles!

  315. lesli

Mmmmm….I love vanilla anything, especially vanilla bean ice cream. It doesn’t have to be adorned with any toppings!

  316. Sabrina

I love really good vanilla ice cream, but I also love it with fruit such as fresh or frozen blueberries (slightly thawed). Yum!

  317. Charanne

I have to have some toasted slivered almonds in my vanilla ice cream…. hard to beat the sweetness of the vanilla and the crunch of the almonds together!

  318. Jennifer

Would love to try Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla Bean and
Tahitian Vanilla Bean which seem to be 2 of your favs so they must be good!

  319. Becky

Load it up! The Reese’s topping that hardens is my absolute favorite, but add on some whipped cream, caramel, and the cherry on top and it would be perfect!

  320. Jennifer

I love to pair my vanilla ice cream with nuts, sliced banana, and chocolate syrup. YUM and slightly nutritious, right? ;)

  321. Rachel S.

I would crush up some pretzels and add a bit of caramel. And then eat it very fast before my 2 year old son saw that I had ice cream.

  322. Carol

I would love to have some fresh peaches and toasted pecans on mine. Although I love just plain vanilla ice cream.

  323. Toni Clark

Amanda until I started reading your blog I never knew vanilla could be so very exciting! I was in Trader Joe’s last week and got Pure Bourbon vanilla. I used it to make Chocolate Chai Bread and what a unique flavor it offered. So… THANK YOU!

In terms of ice cream, I’m with your hubby…hot fudge and peanut butter cups. Mmm, I think I know what I’m having for dessert tonight. :-)

  324. Erin

Plain old vanilla is simply the best – however, I could come up with a raspberry, vanilla and grand marnier syrup in the summer months if I had some of this gorgeous vanilla – yum yum!

  325. Julie McD

First off, I’d add no calories! :) Peanut butter & warm brownies with chocolate jimmies would make a delight sundae in my book! Happy weekend!

  326. Jen C

I’d load it up with toppings – crushed peanut butter cups, Snickers, or maybe some crumbled brownies. Yum!

  327. Ruth E.

Vanilla Ice-Cream?! – I just eat it plain when it’s just beginning to get soft – soo creamy and my favorite ice cream to eat – pure unadulterated vanilla icecream!

  328. Candice

I’m with kevin on this one! I’d so add chocolate and peanut butter and throw in a banana and whipped cream!

  329. Jacqui

I would definitely load it up with toppings… specifically candy, any sort of chocolate and lots of whipped cream!!

  330. Mary Anne Tomlinson

I’d add some pineapple and pecans to my vanilla ice cream! Love love love this brand of vanilla. I use the kind from Madagascar. It’s all I ever use so I’d be delighted to get different flavors to try. I accidentally bumped my bottle over the other day and one-third of it spilled on the counter. I was “sick” about that, let me tell you!

  331. Averie @ Love Veggies and Yoga

Do you eat it plain or load it up with toppings? = toppings!!!

And I love N.M. vanilla…it’s SUCH a luxurious treat. I’d love to win some. Great giveaway!

  332. Angelique

I am a baker at heart and love to find fund things to bake each holiday season and through out the year. Vanilla is such a big part of this activity. But I have been using vanilla at a faster rate than in the past because I have discovered Vanilla Milk…and I drink a lot of milk for the calcium… I use about a capful per quart. Really livens up skim milk and soy milk. Hope I win!!! Happy Holidays to you Amanda and all your readers!!!!

  345. Gretta

First, I’d hope it was a big bowl of vanilla bean ice cream and then I’d load it up with fresh strawberries

    bamagv at aol dot com

  346. Sonnet Bee

Vanilla ice cream is my favorite & I have to say, I would eat it without any extra ingredients.. but I like your idea of making it into a milkshake. I have always, since childhood, stirred my ice cream in a bowl until it melted just a little. That is the best!!

  347. Amy

Sometimes I leave it plain and sometimes I feel like going crazy and put everything I can find on it. But unfortunately, it then turns into a meal, not a dessert.

  366. Dorci

I’d probably leave it plain, especially if it’s vanilla bean. Maybe a drizzle of chocolate syrup, or a side of chocolate cake. :)

  367. Penny Hall

If it was my mama’s homemade, plain would be just fine. If bought, it would be covered in hot fudge sauce. Either way, DELICIOUS!

  371. AmyBeth

I love a true vanilla flavor. I make candied pecans and sometimes candied bacon. I’d crumble a little of each and sprinkle them on. Not enough to change or mask the vanilla essence, but just enough to complement.

  372. Janice Williams

Leave it plain! No way would I want to take away from the deliciousness of vanilla with another distracting flavor. Vanilla is one of my FAVORITE things and I’m always searching for the best quality and best tasting vanilla out there!

  397. chelsea

I think every day of the year I would do it differently–top with oreos, leave plain, put chocolate on top, mix with cold coffee for a shake, add whoppers? I could go on and on. I love variety. Oreos would probably come around most often…

  398. Julie Patton

I like to mix my ice cream in a bowl until it’s soft and smooth like a milkshake.. with just a little dab of chocolate in it so it’s barely brown… Thank you!!

  399. jules p

  421. Beth

it make it into a bowl. I’m bad to eat out of the carton sometimes.

  438. Amanda

  439. Lora

I love Vanilla ice cream – the more homemade and natural the better! For those times when plain vanilla won’t do, I like to top mine with chocolate and fresh sliced strawberries from the garden. 440. Tiffany

Vanilla Ice Cream! Oh, it would have to be topped with fresh sweet Mangoes from our orchards. It would be pure heaven.

  445. Lynda Taylor

I like it different at different times.

When I have a big meal out, I love vanilla ice cream with hot coffee poured over!

Or sometimes at home I like my ice cream with either coffee or chocolate liqueur or even liqueur muscat. Tastes like sultanas! Yum!

  446. Karen

Mmmm…ice cream–my favorite! I would drizzle some chocolate sauce and add just a dolop of whipped cream from a can.

  447. Kody Turner- Schimmel

I think I would put granola and a little caramel on top. I’ve been craving that combination lately!

  448. Christine Teal

Oh Yummy! These extracts look great. Since you have been talking about Tahitian vanilla, I have been wanting to try it. For the ice cream, I love–LOVE–LOVE me some peanut butter milkshake. So, I think I would probably make me a peanut butter milkshake!!

Well, I have not had ice-cream in years! :( I am too obsessed with my “diet” plan, and I would not dare to touch such foods, like ice-cream. I know that you could have a small amount every once in a while, but I am like an alcoholic in a sense that I cannot just eat one bowl, give me the whole ice cream container! So, in ending.. in the days that I did eat ice cream, I loved mint chocolate chip ice cream topped with chocolate syrup! Yum!

My heaven is to offset the vanilla with Bananas Foster-the combo of pecans, bananas, brown sugar and rum….mmmm! And Nielsen Massey’s Vanilla Bean Paste has earned me lots of compliments-the little flecks of the vanilla bean are wonderful in anything.

  451. Cathy barrows

Vanilla all the way, but I do tend to put it a cup with some milk and make a sudo-milkshake. But as the winner, I would make a vanilla bean creme brûlée and totally pig out before my neck surgery after Christmas.

  452. Barbara Noland

depends on my mood…sometimes I am a purist and Love vanilla bean ice cream plain, the next time I want a drizzle of chocolate…..at Christmas….definitely plain, so I can also enjoy the other treats to go with it.

  453. Amy K

I love all things vanilla, so I would leave it just as is. Fantastic giveaway – thanks for the chance to win .

  454. Maryann Vander Heyden

With vanilla ice cream I like to add pieces of little debbie brownies and smother it in hot fudge… YUM!!

  455. Susan M.

Caramel sauce, sliced banana, pineapple tidbits, and real whipped cream topping, with toasted pecans on top!

  456. Leiah

I would start out just enjoying the simpleness of the vanilla with a couple of bites but then I would definitely have to add some of my mawmaw’s chocolate gravy to it.

  457. Loralei

I’ve been loving caramel topping with vanilla ice cream lately…now for the willpower not to stop by the kitchen on the way to bed!

  458. Katherine

I have to side with Kevin on this one! I wouldn’t be able to resist adding the chocolate & peanut butter! Thanks for the giveaway! :)

  459. Leslie Kiley

I am a Vanilla Girl! Always make the choice for creamy pure vanilla taste so I would leave it pure and simply yummy!

  460. Sierra A.

I LOVE vanilla ice cream and I LOVE toppings—but I think you can definitely overload it. I’m content with some cookie dough chunks or some brownie bits and a little hot fudge! Yummy!!

  461. Melissa Sorrells

Ok.. So I’m not a huge fan of plain vanilla ice cream but it does make a great rootbeer or coke float… OR I would definitely add some hot fudge, whipped cream, nuts and a couple of cherries! :-) Thanks for the great giveaway. Maybe this will be my very 1st win from a blog! Merry Christmas!

  462. Stephanie

I would put some cinnamon on it… but since I share with my boston Lucy, I usually leave it plain since the cinnamon makes her sneeze. Hehe.
