Congratulations girls! I love all of your sweet smilies. I’ve sent ya’ll an email. Happy baking!
Oh guys, I’ve got such a fun giveaway to share with you today! Just look at all these fabulous pure vanilla products from Nielsen Massey. We’ve got three different kinds of vanilla extracts, vanilla bean paste, vanilla sugar, whole vanilla beans, exotic extracts to spice up your baking, and a cookbook filled with bakery and pastry recipes, along with new ideas for using vanilla as an essential ingredient in savory dishes. I got to go through the Neilsen Massey catalog of pure vanilla products and hand pick my favorites to share with you guys, and Nielsen Massey would like to offer this assortment to three (3) Kevin & Amanda readers today.
Nielsen Massey offers three different types of vanilla extracts processed from vanilla beans grown in three different regions across the globe. What a huge difference it made in my baking when I figured out which type of vanilla was best to use in which recipe! Here’s a quick description of the three vanillas, and how to best utilize them.
Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla. The most popular, classic, all-purpose vanilla that is perfect for a wide range of foods from baked goods to barbeque sauces.
Mexican Pure Vanilla. A creamy, spicy vanilla that’s perfect for recipes that contain chocolate, cinnamon or other warm spices. A perfect vanilla for the holidays!
Tahitian Pure Vanilla. This is my favorite of all the vanillas. The flavor is so pure and sweet, and I can definitely tell a difference when I use this vanilla. This vanilla is susceptible to heat, so it’s only for recipes that will not be cooked. It’s perfect for ice creams, fruits, sorbets, frostings, and vanilla butter.

I would put some cinnamon on it… but since I share with my boston Lucy, I usually leave it plain since the cinnamon makes her sneeze. Hehe.

Ok.. So I’m not a huge fan of plain vanilla ice cream but it does make a great rootbeer or coke float… OR I would definitely add some hot fudge, whipped cream, nuts and a couple of cherries! :-) Thanks for the great giveaway. Maybe this will be my very 1st win from a blog! Merry Christmas!
I would definitely have that root beer float!! Mouth is watering already!!!!
Root beer!!!

I’d totally add toppings, likely brownies and hot fudge. :)

I would put chocolate chips on mine.
I love all things vanilla, so I would leave it just as is. Fantastic giveaway – thanks for the chance to win .
depends on my mood…sometimes I am a purist and Love vanilla bean ice cream plain, the next time I want a drizzle of chocolate…..at Christmas….definitely plain, so I can also enjoy the other treats to go with it.
Vanilla all the way, but I do tend to put it a cup with some milk and make a sudo-milkshake. But as the winner, I would make a vanilla bean creme brûlée and totally pig out before my neck surgery after Christmas.
Hot fudge & a cherry for me! Yum!
Well, I have not had ice-cream in years! :( I am too obsessed with my “diet” plan, and I would not dare to touch such foods, like ice-cream. I know that you could have a small amount every once in a while, but I am like an alcoholic in a sense that I cannot just eat one bowl, give me the whole ice cream container! So, in ending.. in the days that I did eat ice cream, I loved mint chocolate chip ice cream topped with chocolate syrup! Yum!
My heaven is to offset the vanilla with Bananas Foster-the combo of pecans, bananas, brown sugar and rum….mmmm! And Nielsen Massey’s Vanilla Bean Paste has earned me lots of compliments-the little flecks of the vanilla bean are wonderful in anything.
Cherry syrup, crushed pineapple and mini chocolate chips!!
Oh Yummy! These extracts look great. Since you have been talking about Tahitian vanilla, I have been wanting to try it. For the ice cream, I love–LOVE–LOVE me some peanut butter milkshake. So, I think I would probably make me a peanut butter milkshake!!

I like it different at different times.
When I have a big meal out, I love vanilla ice cream with hot coffee poured over!
Or sometimes at home I like my ice cream with either coffee or chocolate liqueur or even liqueur muscat. Tastes like sultanas! Yum!
Vanilla Ice Cream! Oh, it would have to be topped with fresh sweet Mangoes from our orchards. It would be pure heaven.
I luuuuv vanilla, and would never change the flavor by adding a thing.
I would eat the vanilla ice cream plain…but lots of it!

Maybe getting the wife to make some of her awesome homemade vanilla ice cream with that tahitian vanilla…yum!
I’d have to add something to make it chocolatey!
I would add chocolate syrup and M&Ms!
When I was a kid, i would stir my bowl of Vanilla icecream until it was a little thicker than a milkshake..I still do it…Love vanilla!!!
not a huge fan of ice cream unless it has hot fudge sauce, whipped cream and maybe some crushed oreos on it!
I like plain unadulterated vanilla ice cream. Especially a vanilla bean ice cream. But if there were some left over pecan pie if it was close to a holiday, it’s eat it with that.
I would love to win this. Endless possibilities of things to be made
I like to add fresh strawberries, blueberries and raspberries to my vanilla ice cream! YUM!
I would make a shake with chocolate and peanut butter Yummy
I love Vanilla ice cream – the more homemade and natural the better! For those times when plain vanilla won’t do, I like to top mine with chocolate and fresh sliced strawberries from the garden. I especially loved reading this blog today – so many new ways that I didn’t think of to eat the best flavor of ice cream! Go VANILLA!!!!
It depends on the brand of ice cream! If it’s Blue Bell, you’ve gotta leave it plain – anything else I load up with as much chocolate in as many forms as I possible can!
I’d put some homemade caramel sauce on it — if I allowed myself to let
it make it into a bowl. I’m bad to eat out of the carton sometimes.
OH MY! I think I would gladly load it up with toppings like cherries or PB cups! That is exactly what I do when I get frozen yogurt in Cheesecake flavor…yummm! :)
Yum! Been doin the root-beer “float” thing lately, but spicy stuff sounds good too!

Ohhhhhhhhhhh, this is my favorite vanilla and I would so LOVE to try some of the other extracts in this give away. There are endless possibilities! I am thinking of a delicate pound cake would be the first thing I would make.
Thanks for the terrific giveaway!
just a little chocolate would do the trick for me :)
I would have to load it up. I’m a chocolate gal. I would add hot fudge topping (slightly warmed) and probably crushed up Oreos or Reese’s peanut butter cups. If it were my husband, because he is strange, he would dump a packet of dry hot cocoa mix on top and eat it. :)
I would put chocolate on it!!
Oooh, chocolate syrup and sprinkles … or Kahlua!!
Yummy, yummy, yummy…the ideas are endless.
Oh no, never plain! Banana, chocolate syrup, whip cream and a cherry. A must. My husband would prefer it plain. ;)
I’m with Kevin..chocolate and pb for sure!!
Straight up vanilla! It is smooth and creamy and most toppings harden up, masking the pure joy of of the flavor and texture. Mmmmmmm, vanilla.
