Masterbuilt Electric Smoker Giveaway

Time’s up!

The winner of the Masterbuilt Electric Smoker Giveaway is #690 Matt L. Congrats, Matt! I’ve sent you an email.

Masterbuilt Electric Smoker Review & Giveaway

I am so thrilled to share this fun giveaway with you guys today. The awesome folks over at Masterbuilt are offering one Kevin & Amanda reader their very own Electric Smoker. I’ve gotten a chance to use mine a few times, and I am seriously loving it! I think I am ready to start smoking everything.

The first thing I made was this pulled pork. The smoked flavor of the meat was absolutely incredible! I made it exactly the same way, I just cooked it in the smoker instead of the oven. It was a breeze because the smoker comes with its own built-in meat thermometer and a remote so you can monitor the cooking temperature and the temperature of the meat just by glancing at the remote — you don’t have to constantly keep running outside to check on the smoker. And the manual that comes with the smoker gives suggestions for wood chip flavors (found at the grocery store with the charcoal).

If you’re not sure what you’d make first, Masterbuilt is including their fabulous cookbook, Dadgum That’s Good, with easy instructions and tons of ideas for making the most of your new smoker with this giveaway.

Here are the next three things I am wanting to try!

You can get these easy recipes and tons more at DadgumThatsGood.com.

Masterbuilt Electric Smoker Giveaway

  • The smoker is 30″ and priced at $349.99
  • Comes with a remote that controls the temperature and time, as well as monitors the meat temperature so you can check on your food from the comfort of your home, just by checking the remote.
  • Has a viewing window and internal light
  • Built in meat thermometer
  • Built in wheels and handle for easy moving
  • Push-button digital time temperature & time control panel
  • Thermostat controlled temperature
  • Chrome-coated smoking racks
  • Convenient side wood-chip loader
  • Removable drip pan and rear-mounted grease pan

  16. Keira Welter

Every few years we buy a pig… so what would I smoke? Everything! Hubby is a firefighter and in the military so he does not have much time to monitor an old fashioned smoker… this smoker is something I could use to make amazing dinners.

  17. Ana Murphy

I would definitely make pulled pork. We miss the awesome pork made in hawaii and I would love to make some for husband and sons who absolutely love it.

Maybe I’ll get lucky!!!!:) Thanks for offering something wonderful and so reputable as this Masterbuilt!!!

  25. Christina

First, I’d give the smoker to my husband! I just know he’d drool like crazy over it! I’m guessing the first thing he’d want to make is some good brisket, just like we used to get when we lived in Texas. What a great give-away!

  26. Mindy M.

I would probably have to cook the Baby Back Ribs!!! Never had them smoked before but heard they are delish!!!

  27. Beth York

  36. LiSa

the first thing I would have to make is some sort of jerky! It’d be much healthier than the gas station kind ;)

Well I am in South Carolina and BBQ is huge here, would start with a Boston Butt, and move on to salmon. Now that’s good eating!

Thanks for the chance to win!

Tri-tip or ribs….this would be fun to try! Eating out is so expensive and cooking like the pros and making food at home that taste good is good for my family would be a dream.

  52. Josie

I would make meatballs. I’m not even sure you CAN make meatballs in a smoker, but I love them more than almost anything, and I would love to give it a whirl!

  53. Stephanie T.

Oooh, I don’t have a grill or anything special to prepare meats so the first thing I’d use this smoker for is kabobs! I always, always dream of making kabobs and, I’m sorry, I don’t care who you are, a broiler does NOT give the same flavor as a grill or a smoker! I’d LOVE to call this my own!

  54. Margaret L

Thanks for the opportunity! I would make my famous smoked chicken thighs-yummy! Right now I smoke ’em on my grill. Smokin on this would be heaven!

    Mmmmmmm………..

  57. Quinn

We would love this smoker sooo much! We would probably do your amazing pulled pork that we’ve made many, many times now. It is the best anyone has ever had. Ribs would be next. I hope we win!

  58. Carrie Vosika

I would give this to my Dad for his birthday, which is also Christmas! He’s one of those guys that has everything and is very hard to buy for. I would hope if I gave it to him he’d make me prime rib!
    Thank you!

  59. Susannah

Oh, I absolutely love smoked chicken, but I think the very first thing I’d smoke would be a nice, big slab of salmon! Ymmmmmmm.

  60. Stephanie

Ooh! Maybe salmon or chicken or pork. They all sound good right now! I guess I could throw in some veggies too. ;)

  61. June Willett

I’m a seafood kind of girl and I’d smoke salmon first…. Then follow with smoked prime rib…. Then smoked turkey…. Then smoked pork butt….. Then smoked brisket… and so on and so on. (or as Yul Brynner said in “The King and I”, etc., etc., etc………. YUM!

  62. Kristi Gubbs

I would have to smoke ribs. Just had a couples wedding shower bbq where there were smoked ribs. Would love to have them again after we get married!

  66. Michael Guelker-Cone

I live in the Pacific Northwest and catch plenty of King salmon this time of year. The first thing I’d try out is smoked King salmon. Just marinade it in a salt solution for about 20 minutes, pat dry, sprinkle with a heavy grind of black pepper and smoke it. It doesn’t get any better than that.

  67. Melissa G.

I totally would be making pulled pork!! It’s my favorite! But a very, very close second, would be ribs. Can’t get enough BBQ!!

  71. Bonnie Nivens

I would smoke a turkey breast – Honey Baked Ham no longer offers their smoked turkey breast so I’d make my own!

  72. Joe Wallace

I have two Masterbuilt products and they are the best. The only thing better is my dry rubbed baby backs. My wife won’t eat ribs at a restaurant any more after having our ribs out of the Masterbuilt smoker…..Dadgum that’s is some eat’n….

  73. erica

wow, this thing is really high tech. i would make a pluthora of meat like smoked sausages, ribs and chicken. then i would have everyone over for a party to enjoy these delectable meats! i could probably say that if i won this thing that it would be the highlight of my kitchen because it’s looking pretty sad and i get really tired of making the s.o.s. in the oven!

  74. robyn

  77. caroline

The first thing I would make is a Boston Butt. I would invite the whole family over for a picnic!
    Caroline

  78. Kristi Borders

Turkey! This would give me a great excuse to have turkey some other time besides Thanksgiving. The leftover sandwiches would be great the following week for school lunches, etc.

  79. Jennifer Stickler

I would hand the smoker over to my hubby and he would definitely make some wild game jerky..he makes yummy duck jerky:)

  80. Kristin

I would be making alot of things if I won this incredible smoker. I am thinking that ribs, pork, and chicken would be the first few things on our menu!

  81. Kristen Maynard

BBQ As simple as it is I love a bbq sandwich w/ tangy bbq sauce and coleslaw on a hamburger bun.

  82. Stephanie

The first thing I would smoke in the smoker is our fresh caught Alaska Salmon! :) We love smoked salmon and do a lot of it, so this smoker would be awesome for that! Thank for the awesome giveaway!!!

  83. Shannon

Brisket! And then take it to my dad, who had rotator cuff surgery a week ago and hasn’t been fully functional yet. And he’s the chef of my parent’s house.

  84. Julie

This would be hard to say what I would fix first, but I think it would be a turkey so I would know how good it would be for the holidays comming up.
    Thanks

  91. Honey

I, and my children, have been vegetarian or vegan our entire lives until a few months ago when we tried meat for the first time. (We’re going on the GAPS diet) My husband wasn’t a vegetarian until he married me ;) but his momma cooked for him.

I simply don’t know WHAT I’d make as I don’t know what pulled pork is or even what pork tastes like! I’m still learning meat cuts but I did recognize brisket and ribs ’cause my grassfed angus farmer mentioned those. But, I’ve only made fried chicken a few times and I even made some hamburgers about 3 weeks ago! It was…chewy. I miss my Boca Burger texture! :) So, I think I’d make recipe #1 in the Dadgum recipe book! Or…you can send me a recipe that’s former vegan proof! ;)

Believe it or not, you can smoke up some tomatoes! But you have to do it carefully and use not so ripe ones. Then once they are slightly smoked.. grab a large fresh bagel (slice it) and spread some cream cheese on it, and top each half of cream cheese bagel with a chunky slice of that smoked tomato! Yum.

  95. Ashley

I would probably try a brisket. I did make your pulled pork, southern corn, and ice cream the other night for company. It was the best meal ever!

  96. Veronica Concha

I would smoke a good tr tip with a homemade rub on it. Then share it with my closest friends and family. .

  97. Patricia

Probably pulled pork. We love it. Made some the other day, but am sure it would be better made in this smoker.

  98. Patricia

Probably pulled pork. We love it. Made some the other day, but I’m sure it would be better made in this smoker.

  99. Jill R

I’d totally give this to my husband for his upcoming birthday and make HIM smoke some pulled pork for ME. :) Love the remote to monitor the temp! Awesome!

  100. elisa

I would not actually make anything, but gift it to my brother as it’s his birthday next week and he actually MADE a smoker himself, albeit a bad one. He loves using it and it would be great to see him make a real rack of ribs or pork shoulder that he doesn’t need to worry about all day!

  101. Malkie

  116. Fred Nesbitt

I love pulled pork, and I have a butt roast in the fridge right now, just waiting for me to take a whole day off to bbq. I have always used my Weber kettle grill, but it requires a lot of attention adding charcoal, adding wood chips, checking the temperature, etc. What a joy it would be to use a Masterbuilt electric smoker, and not worry about whether it is too hot or too cool, or running out of coals or wood, or will I have to take it off the grill and finish it off in the oven (because I’m ready for bed), or…well, you get the picture. And the remote control just makes me laugh at how easy my cooking could be! GOTTA HAVE ONE!!!

  117. Michele Peters

Hmmm… So many choices, so little time! Brisket for The Hubs? Or sausage… MMMMMMMMMMmmm! Sausage! But that mac-n-cheese is looking dadgum good, too!!! YUMMY!!

We just got married and while I was busy getting all these beautiful things for our new home…he really got squat that interested him in the least bit :) He would LOVE this smoker and I am willing to bet that he would go on a smoking rampage if we won, starting with a Boston Butt, going into Ribs, Pork Loins, Beef Brisket, Mahi Mahi, Whole Chicken, I can bet by the time he was done…he would be trying to smoke everything in the fridge if I wasn’t careful! He is just enthusiastic like that :)

  136. Cheryl Newton

I was going to skip this giveaway until I saw Four Cheese Smoked Mac ‘N’ cheese. Must have! On the off chance that I don’t win, could I just cook the mac ‘n’ cheese in a regular oven at the temp and for the time mentioned in the recipe? Would the only difference be no smoky flavor?

  137. Sharie T

I hate to be a copy-cat, but I would have to start with pulled pork (I’ll use your receipe though :)) our daughter loves it. My next choice would be brisket or ribs.

Served with green beans with the fantastic flavor of Dales marinade sauce. Cant forget the potato smothered with butter, scallions and yes, with an abundace of the ever loving flavor of garlic. For desert….oh my, is there any Boston butt left? I better get ready to prepare a brisket for the next shift….

  278. Solange

Talk about healthy! Smoke almost anything over frying, and save yourself some unwanted calories. Not to mention how yummy of a flavor it puts on your item of choice. I think I would marinate a piece of boneless/skinless chicken and smoke that up with a side order of 1 or 2 smoked portobello mushrooms! Yummy!

  279. Heather

My husband and I have been looking into smokers…I think we would try our hand at smoking peppers, among various meats!

  280. Mindy

Brings back memories of when I was a little girl growing up on the beach of Miami. There was this small “shack” right by docks that sold “smoked fish.” Boy was it expensive, but OMG, was it sooooo good! My dad would always by just a small slab of smoked king fish and we would sprinkle on it a little hot sauce and sea-salt & pepper. We’d walk on the dock and watch the boats, nibbling on our smoked fish delight. In honor of my dad, I would use the smoker to smoke a slab of king fish and share the memory with my son (who is now 12). My dad passed two years ago, and I will never forget those days we spent together.

  281. Ed the Med

I totally agree with everyone else who commented here. I love to grill outside, and using a smoker as easy as this one, will be a blast. Especially when it gets up to 100+ degrees outdoors this summer. Using that remote will make it much more comfortably watching that I don’t over-smoke it (dry it out) from my recliner! I would love to experiment with all sorts of different flavored ribs. Sounds good just thinking about it.

  282. Karen Peterson

Ooh, this would be a great addition and love the features on the smoker; would definitely smoke some of the 53 salmon we caught this summer!!

  283. Jennifer

My husband works for Farmland Foods, so we eat a lot of pork! I would have to try a pork tenderloin first, then move on to ribs. And chicken, and beef brisket….

We’ve been wanting a smoker forever, and this one looks amazing. We would love to smoke pork loin roasts. Delicious!!!

  301. Lena

We raise our own 4H market hogs. My kids and husband work very hard on getting them the correct diet and nutrition. Last year we raised one that placed at Reserve Grand Champion carcass for our county, and that’s judged with careful inspection of the meat (carcass), not just the live animal. That one was sold at the 4H market, but since the others were raised very similarly, we can kind of know that we are eating some really good pork.
If I were to have one of these, the first item I would *have* to cook would be a pork shoulder roast from one of our current show hogs (after the September fair).

  302. debi day

I would absolutely try a rib recipe that i’ve been waiting to use that i saw from “best thing i ever ate” on the food channel!!!!!

  331. Jamila M.

I have no doubt that the very first thing I would make in the smoker if I were to win it would be a brisket. 436. Kristi

I’ve only tasted smoked turkey once and can still remember its juicy warmth in my mouth…so turkey it is! Thanksgiving should be celebrated EVERY day!!!

Ha I told my hubby about this giveaway and he said “yes! Enter it!” (He was thrilled most about the fact that it had a remote control). So I asked him “ok, what would be the first thing we would make in it?” and being the good husband that he is asked me what would be the first thing I would want him to make in it? So I said “oh no, I want to know your answer! Why do you want this smoker?” He looked at me, eyes wide and in this awed voice said: “So we can smoke stuff!”

Ha ha such a guy thing to say. If it has a remote and can smoke meat, he’s happy. He’s already awesome at making ribs so that’s definitely the first thing I’d have him make!

I would most definitely make the babyback ribs first. I’ve been working on my technique all summer long and this smoker would be absolutely GRAND. That smoker looks AWESOME!! Thanks for the chance to win.

While I am a big fan of your pulled pork (we literally have it every time I see pulled pork on sale at the grocery store now :)) we would probably have to try a nice brisket first. With mesquite chips. Just like my grandfather used to make.

  480. Alyssa

Smoked chicken sausage sounds divine right now :) Maybe even with some smoked Mac and Chesse. The perfect dinner.

  481. Joy Broyles

I would make a roast rubbed in Mexican spices and serve on homemade corn tortillas with all the fixin’s!!

  493. Marsha

I was given a salmon and didn’t know what to do with it so I stuck it in the freezer. I know exactly what the first thing I would fix in my new Masterbuilt Electric Smoker would be!

Whoo!!! What a treat this would be!! The first thing I would cook would be Smoked BBQ Ribs – tender and oh, so sweet!!! Thanks for the chance to own such a wonderful prize!! Pick me! Pick me!

  569. Megan

Brisket. Definitely. There is nothing like smoked brisket. Cooking it in the oven just isn’t the same!

  570. joy

I would smoke a brisket to remind me of how my dad used to cook for us when I was a kid. He stayed outside babysitting smoked meats all winter and now when I smell smoke, I always think of my dad. :)

  571. Erin G

Definitely the pulled pork!! That’s my husbands favorite food and I would love to be able to make it at home! The smoked mac-n-cheese sounds pretty awesome too though.

  572. Mookschlabs

The first thing I will make in my new electric smoker (which I SO want to win) will be turkey–maybe a whole one, maybe just a breast… or maybe one of each! Depends on how many friends and neighbors I invite to join me!

  573. Nathalie Manus

I have been wanting a smoker in forever…. Everything I cook is on the grill so this smoker would be awesome. I would for sure be smoking me some baby back ribs….

  574. Noelle Frye

Definitely, a brisket. There is nothing like the smell (and later the taste!) of a nice smoked brisket!

  575. Elizabeth Rhyneer

#1 – Pork Butt – I can taste it now. We use a smoker but it’s an all day standing over the BBQ and smelling like it for the next week. This would be so fantastic ~~

    Thank you

  576. Karen

What’s the first thing you’d make in your new smoker?
Homemade venison sausage, and smoked chicken. :o)

  577. Deborah Lancelotta

I’d have all of my friends over for a FEAST! The boys would go crazy trying every kind of meat they can get their hands on! Ribs, pork, venison….

  578. Yvonne B

First thing I would smoke is a turkey. We used to smoke a turkey for Thanksgiving every year until our old smoker bit the dust. We haven’t gotten around to replacing it and I sure do miss it.

  579. Kimberly

I would smoke everything I could get my hands on! My top priority would be chicken, brisket, ribs and CABBAGE!! I loved smoked cabbage!!

  580. Kathy Moran

Hey maybe I’d make some ribs or some chicken…. who knows it all sounds so dadgum GOOD!!! thanks amanda for the chance to win this!!!!!!

  581. Lynne

Smoked turkey breasts-2 of them. One for me, and one for everyone else! Love this smoker. What a GREAT idea. Thanks for sharing with your readers.

  582. Karen

I wouldn’t make anything, because I’m sure my husband would take it from me the moment it arrives. But we’d probably make pulled pork or ribs.

  583. Dawn

    Good morning everyone and TGIF!!!!

Wow…a smoker….that is a beautiful!! I do not have a “first thing” I would smoke….it would be EVERYTHING!!!!!!

    Good luck everyone!!!
    :)

  584. Gretta

We went to a party recently and they had smoked turkeys in theirs. Smoked turkey sandwiches are so good! I would make turkeys in mine first!

  585. Dottie Williams

OMG I would so do a turkey! I love it! I need it! I want it! woo hoo thanks for sharing with us…..

  586. Danielle

Ohhh smoked macaroni & cheese is so yummy! But I might have to start with the pulled pork. Or better yet – both!

  587. Jeanette

I’m getting hungry thinking about all of this yummy smoked food! The first thing I would make would be ribs! Thanks for sharing!

  588. Brittany

We are huge fans of ribs so I’m most certain that would be the first thing that would be smoked!

  589. Trisha

I’d like to make something with seafood, like shrimp or something. The mac and cheese recipe looks really great though!

  590. Mendy Gehrt

The pulled pork would be our first item of many to try. We also loved smoked salmon. I can’t help but wonder what smoked cabobs would taste like? Thanks for the fantastic offer!!!

  591. Karen S.

Hmmm…what would I make first in my brand new Masterbuilt Smoker? It’s a toss up between a smoked turkey and a pork butt for pork bar-b-que.

  592. Melissa

I would have to smoke the pheasant we haven the freezer. My husband is a big duck and pheasant hunter, son we always have a lot. Yum!

  593. Lauren P

The first thing I would make in the smoker would have to be ribs! I’ve been trying to “smoke” them on our gas grill twice now and have not been very successful.

  594. Mendy Gehrt

Wow, who knew there was an electric version of a smoker? The first thing I would make is what you made, pulled pork! My family just loves pulled pork and the different smoky flavors to try. What a fun machine! I wonder what smoked cabbobs would taste like? Thanks for the offer!!!

  595. Jackie

I would do something with pork without a doubt! Ribs, Pulled Pork . . YUM! This is actually on my “to buy when we have the money saved” so to win one would be fantastic!!

  596. Leah

OMG My hubby has been begging for one since the beginning of summer. Ribs…Turkey? I don’t know what he would make first but he would be ecstatic!!

  597. Krys Kolivras

I’m not very original but I’m honest – I would make YOUR pulled pork recipe, because it sounds spectacular! Thanks for offering these great prizes to your fans!

  598. Jody

I would smoke a whole pork shoulder and then invite both sides of our family over to help eat it. It would be a win for everyone!

  599. Shelly P

Hmmmm… hard decision but I think I would do pulled pork first. I would love to be the proud owner of this masterbuilt electric smoker and the fun and good eating I would have using it.

  600. Southern Gal

No question. Your pulled pork would be my first venture! It’s so hot here I can’t stand to turn on the oven. This would be fabulous, especially with the remote and the cookbook. So many possibilities. Thanks for the chance!

  601. Nicole

When I was younger my dad made smoked turkey ALL THE TIME. First thing I’d make is a smoked turkey!! :o)

  602. Carrie

The first thing I would make would have to be ribs. However, my brother makes meatloaf in his smoker and says it amazing so that would be second.

  603. Candy

Definitely a toss up between beef brisket or baby back ribs…maybe I’d do both!! :)

Thanks to Masterbuilt and You for a chance to win this awesome give-away!!

  604. Diana

I’d love to make some brisket in this smoker! I saw this guy and this smoker on Fox & Friends New a few days ago. Loved it!

  605. Jean Antosh

I have always loved the wonderful flavors of smoked fish. I would definitely smoke some whitefish, trout and/or salmon for my first attempt. And, the smoker would be the most marvelous gift for my husband’s milestone 65th birthday this month.
    Fingers crossed!

  606. Angie

I would make smoked turkey! It is so good, and I love turkey. But that pulled pork really looked good.

  607. Nicole K

Oh I want this smoker so bad! Thanks Amanda! Love your giveaways!!
    Random.org, PLEASE pick me! :)
I would have to put in a brisket! Man that would be so tasty!
I have salmon and ribs on my list too. Yum! It’s such an awesome smoker!!!
    Thanks again!

  608. Giggles

Probably would be some beef jerky!! Because my family would prefer that…however for me I’d rather have it be smoked salmon…But I love the sound of that smoke cheese macaroni….yum! Thanks for the opportunity!!

    Cheers Giggles

  609. Lori

Oh how cool is that smoker!! I would do ribs first because my husband loves ribs and I never make them!

  610. Deb

The first thing I would make would be a brisket. I had to leave behind my big smoker when we moved to our new house in the city because we have such a small yard here. It would be great to be able to smoke meat again.

  611. Sharon

The first thing that Id like to try is venison jerky but I’ll have to wait until season for that. So, I think I’d like to try smoked trout in hopes it would taste like salmon!

  612. L.Pearce

Wow! How fun. Smoked Chicken sounds yummy but the pulled pork sooooo comes in a close second. Thanks

  613. Richard (Ace)

It would have to be pulled pork! I have a great recipe. Loved the photo of all your cereal boxes. The Queen will never make another snide comment at the grocery about too much cereal!

  614. Lisa Hall

Smoked Tri-tip would be the first thing I’d try!
Mmm…my mouth is watering for it right now!
Thank-you for a chance to win an awesome prize!
    Love your blog!

  615. Anne Marie Peterson

What an awesome giveaway, Amanda! Smoked turkey, most definitely! To me, it’s the epitome of Thanksgiving in the country! We usually have it only once a year, but with this smoker…..who knows….it could become a delicious staple at my house.

  616. Rita

I first thought of ribs, but after reading the comments, I’d love to try turkey…as I try to buy turkey 3 x a year instead of Thanksgiving & my kids love my Turkey ala king cassarole… so with a smoke flavor would give it a new twist !!!

  617. Karen DeVore

first thing I would smoke is beef brisket, love smoked brisket sliced thin and eat in sandwiches oh so good!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and at same time try their smoked mac and cheese as it sounds so awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  618. Charlotte Mercer

This looks really cool! I’ve never smoked anything myself, but I’ve tried a lot of foods that have been smoked by others and have loved the flavors! I’d like to try it myself and would probably make chicken wings for my hubby. He loves them and it’s hard to find really good ones.

Thanks for the chance to win!

  619. Tracy Gray

The first thing I would make would be some ribs and brisket. Then come deer season it would be used to smoked sauage and deer jerky. Yummy!!!

  620. Kendra Barger

I enjoy using my charcoal smoker, especially in the fall. The wonderful smell always reminds me of being at Dollywood. Not to mention the savory goodness of smoked meat. I have had smoked pork chops, turkey, butt for pulled pork sandwiches and something called pig candy (if you have never tried this, you must, you are missing out). I think most meat tastes better smoked, but I have to say the first thing I would fix would be a Boston butt for one of my all time favorites… pulled pork.

  621. giulia

hmm the first recipe i would make is ….smoked FISH… salmon and trout! my fav!!!
i absolutely love this blog- its soo sooo helpful!!! thanks guys :-)

  622. Jill

I was prepared to say a whole chicken but then I saw that Dadgum Good Four-Cheese Smoked Mac n’ Cheese. Yep, that’s where I’d start if I had one!

  623. Scott ☺

    Smoked Beef Brisket!
I have had charcoal smokers for a long time, and there is nothing like the taste of smoked beef brisket. Texas BBQ from a Tennessee native . . . LOL!

  624. kaylene

hmmmm pulled pork sounds wonderful, or some whole chicken! man i bet that would make good leftovers too!
