First of all…I would donate the mixer to my church. We held our 38th annual UMW Fall Bazaar this past weekend and we baked 35 cakes over the course of two days – using two mixers that are probably as old as I am… :-)! (We had an eight-year old boy in the kitchen working with us who earned two cub-scout patches…he was a great trooper!)

I would gather the UMW ladies and we’d make more cakes (and other goodies) for our upcoming Christmas Dinner! http://www.SunnySideUnitedMethodistChurch.org

I’d definitely be making up new recipes for my “shop”… At this moment, I think making a cupcake that tasted like a java chip frappucino would be the first thing I would try! I can’t guarantee that I wouldn’t get a better idea before then… ;) thanks for making one of your readers a very lucky person!!!

Marshmallows! They’re tough to do without a stand mixer – the whole pouring boiling sugar into a bowl while running the hand mixer is not as easy as it sounds. ;)

460
Brenna November 11, 2011 at 7:39 am

The first thing I would make is snowman cookies! I believe it’s a Tupperware recipe- my sister and I have been making them with my mom every holiday season as far back as I can remember. But they are almost impossible to mix without a great mixer (and what a beauty this one is).

461
Laurie Vesper November 11, 2011 at 7:40 am

I would make a memory! My grandmother that died over 40 years ago would bring my favorite cake I the world when she would come for Christmas each year. It was called Jam Cake. She would always take a bus to visit and I remember when she would arrive she would unpack this delicious cake that she painstaking cut into bars and wrapped in aluminum foil and had carried in her bag on the long bus ride to visit. I have not had this cake but once or twice since she died and I just lost my mom in April and found the wonderful recipe in her box.
