3043 Solange November 13, 2011 at 6:00 am: I grew up in the US, but my parents are from the French West Indies. It is a series of islands in the Atlantic that France owns… so it is French. My parents were from “St. Barts” (like the US likes to call it) but it’s actual real name is St. Barthelemy. Whenever we used to go and visit I loved this treat called: “pain de chocolat.” This is a lovely soft croissant like bread (but in the shape of a square or rectangle) with pure chocolate in the middle. Not like gooey chocolate, but just a hint to make it oh so yummy. The chocolate is so rich, that is why they only use just a little in the middle. This treat is most always served warm, like it was just baked. I learned how to make them here and I can tell you, my hands will be very happy not to have to hold the hand mixer anymore. This Kitchenaid mixer would make it so much more enjoyable to make this treat. If you want the recipe, let me know. I hope I win!!

Okay, we don’t but we always find a reason to bake a birthday cake. Oh, and we love a supermarket’s frosting so much that they actually sell just the frosting straight from the bakery. I guess we aren’t the only ones who love it! So, I usually buy their frosting, but I bake my cake from scratch. Love Kitchenaid! I have a handheld Kitchenaid mixer now. But, this would be a great upgrade!
