    And yes, I said nifty

  80. Catherine

I am struggling to pick a beginning point, but I would use this Cameo right away for the projects I’ve dreamed of having the tools to make. Outside of being in the process of reorganizing my new apartment and looking for ways to start fresh and have everything labeled organized, but still PRETTY, I’ve always wanted to find a simpler way to create personal cards for my friends and family to thank you for their support or let them know I’m thinking about them. I think I’d do that first so I can personalize each one and really learn the features while making something special for the people who are special to me. But wow, the possibilities of what to do with this really are endless! ::Fingers crossed::

Rudy Borel is my hero. As a loving, and sometimes grouchy guy, my pawpaw has always held me in a special place in his heart. And I, the youngest of 3, have always looked back to him as a hero. My pawpaw and I share a common interest, which is our unending love of technology. When I call him a hero, I mean to say that this man is a genius when working with electronics. He will be turning 82 on June 23rd of this year, but he can swap a motherboard more quickly than I. If I were to have this beautiful machine, I would be able to incorporate my love of design with my love of technology, and to create a lovely birthday gift for my pawpaw, Rudy. I would love to be able to create first with this machine an engraved computer tower, using a silhouette created from an image of him on his red Harley, a handsome reminder of how what a cool man he is. When the time comes and health complications dampen the situation further, I will have a reminder to keep (and hold my pc components) of my lovely and wonderful hero, my pawpaw.

  121. Nikki

I would do the vinyl wall letters for the laundry room. I’ve always loved the saying “Drop your drawers” … is that wrong?

  122. annette godfrey

I bought a Silhouette 2 years ago. I sold it because I didn’t know how to use it and have regretted it since. I would use it to finish my cookbook. I never even took it out of the box.

  123. Jennifer

I would label my classroom!!! Then I would give my cricut to my BFF who’s husband is deployed. She’s obsessed with making tons of stuff while her husband is gone :)

  124. Samantha

So hard to decide what I would make first! But I think I would have to start with labels for my many (many, many, many) kitchen canisters.

  125. Mindy

I think the transfer paper cutting looks really cool for sewing projects. Or the vynal cutting for wall art. I’ve always wanted to write, “Loads of Fun” above my washer/dryer, but I am not artistic enough to do it. Thanks!

  126. Rebecca Benson

I would totally do something with vinyl with the machine. I have hard so many good things about these and would love the chance to get my hands on one.

  127. Sharon A

WOW!! It’s so hard to pick just one project but I think my first project would be some vinyl lettering and designs for my daughter’s room.

  128. Shiella

Oh, what would I etch first? Something for my front door, something for my wall, labels for organinzing? Who can choose?

  129. Linda

  137. S. K.

I’d make the machine a gift to my aunt who hasn’t got the money to afford one herself. She would probably then use it to make a thank you card for me or something because she loves making cards, and I know she’d be very appreciative to get this, because she has brought it up several times when I’ve seen her because she wants to make custom tote bags for a charity she’s part of.

  138. Sierra Hess

I want a Silhouette so badly! I would make labels to organize my pantry. Or maybe even etch some canisters for my baking ingredients! My pantry needs a makeover and I would probably get some motivation to do it if I could make it lovely with a Silhouette!

  259. Katie Fisher

The absolute first thing I would do is etch some glass jars in huge block letters for all of my mom’s dry goods. Her eyesight is horrible–and she’s only in her fifties!–seriously, she even has to use those make-up glasses where the lens flips over the bridge of your nose so you can see what you’re doing.

  260. Amy

Happy birthday KevinandAmanda! LOVE your blog and all you do to inspire!

  264. Kirstin

  270. Mary

The first thing I’d do with the Silhouette would be to write several encouraging bible memory verses in my son’s room (Phil 4:6-7 & 2Thess 3:3). He often wakes up at night because of nightmares and if that could be the first thing he sees when he opens his eyes, I think it would remind him that he’s okay, he’s at home and under the Father’s care. Thank you.

  271. Caroline Young

I would love to have this! I would use it to do the vinyl wall art for the baby’s room and make him some cute onesies!! I would love to do the glass jars for the kitchen pantry, as well as create some things for my photography business! There is so much I want to do with it!! Happy Birthday!!

  273. Letitia

Zomg!! I would start cutting out little fabric French Bulldogs!! I donate so much stuff to the French Bulldog Rescue Network, this would be perfect!

I have always wanted a Silhouette. Is there anything the Cameo can’t do? My first love is scrapbooking, so I would use it for titles, die cuts, mini albums, page designs, etc, etc. But then I would have to try fabric, glass, and so much more.
    My fingers are crossed!

because the names are coming off the jars.
That’s not a good thing when your reaching
for a spice, lol. Plus it would be tons of fun to

I would love to fill my home with cute vinyl sayings! And label containers, and jars… So many possibilities!! Happy birthday!

  289. Jessica

The first thing I would make if I had the Silhouette Cameo is some fun designs for my daughters scrapbook as well as decorate her room. She will be 3 years old in May and I am trying to document every part of her life. I’m a card maker so I would love to make some more cute cards.

If I were lucky enough to win a Silhouette I don’t know where I would start! I have so many ideas of fun things I’d like to do with one, including some vinyl wall art for my recently painted bathroom, glass etching and I have so many solid t-shirts that could use some jazzing up.

  293. Cindy

I’d make one of the etched cake pans, I’ve always tried to do it, but it hasnt’ come out right. I’ve not had a tool to assist me with it………….I cute the contact paper out with an exacto knife, but the letters tore apart and I could not get it to work. I also tried coffee cups, that didn’t work either. This would help, I think.

The first thing I would make with this is a soap stamp. How, you ask? I found a tutorial to make a soap stamp by first carving a piece of soap out then pouring epoxy on top of the carved soap inside a paper box. Then you peel away the paper, wash the excess soap right off, and voila! The stamp can then be mounted onto wood and used to stamp a logo or design into the side of handmade soap bars. I would make several…for holidays and seasons. Then….well, the list would be endless…this little machine might not get much of a break, lol!

I am a seventh grade math teacher, but have been on medical leave since March 11, 2011 as a result of a severe lupus flare. I just finished my sixth month of chemotherapy treatments with Cytoxan and am now hoping to find the right immunosuppressive medication to keep the lupus from further attacks on my body. Throughout the struggles of the last year and the numerous hospital stays, I have been blessed by many family members and friends that have continuously stood by me throughout this battle. As a token of my appreciation I would like to thank these people with decorative signs and being able to use the Silhouette Cameo would be a huge blessing as it would spare me the need to purchase vinyl decals. I have a tight budget with medical bills and time away from work so being able to cut the decals myself would help me save money while also providing me with a special way to thank those that have been here for me throughout this gut-wrenching battle.

Thank you for making one of your readers so thrilled with such an amazing gift!!
