Sunset in Perdido

Best Sunset View in Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, Alabama

This rock wall jetty in Perdido Key has always been one of my favorite spots. As a kid when I’d come down to the beach and spend summer vacations with my grandparents, I remember coming here and climbing all over these rocks. Now coming back as an adult with my husband, we always try to walk down the and beach make it all the way to the jetties.

We ended up here last weekend, late on Thanksgiving day, just as the sun was setting.

I love watching the sunset over the water.

The fiery orange sky, the waves are crashing on the shore.

Since the beaches down here face south, it’s hard to find a good spot to do that in Perdido.

I remember coming down here a few summers ago and looking for a good sunset view over the ocean.

Beautiful photos! The rocks are my favorite place too! I do portrait sessions on the rocks all summer, but the sun doesn’t set over the water until cool weather comes. I have noticed that it begins to set at the water’s edge sometime in late October, but in the summer months the sun sets behind the condos. Isn’t that cool?!

Dauphin Island, Alabama…..best sunset spot I have ever seen!!! It’s a nightly ritual when we are on vacation. Love that island..family fishing village where your dogs can run the beach.

So jealous! We lived in Pensacola, Florida for two years recently. We were about 10 minutes from Perdido Key. Now we’re landlocked in Lake Charles, LA. Blech! We miss the beach so much. Thanks for sharing your pics, brings back memories. :-)

Absolutely beautiful! I needed some “warm” thoughts this morning … we’re currently at 25 degrees and have lots of frost. I need to plan some beach time STAT! And while all of your shots are awesome, I personally think that last one is pretty special ;)

Gorgeous. There is something so grounding about watching the sun set into the ocean. For me, it’s a split second of clarity when all seems right with the world.

    Love it. :-)
