This year for the 4th of July Kevin and I drove with my parents for twelve hours to Dallas, TX to visit with my aunt, uncle and cousins who live there. The last time we saw them was just for a second at the wedding, and the last time I really got to visit with them was in 1997 (way before Kevin :)) so this was really a wonderful and long overdue trip.

What’s more fun that a 12-hour car trip?? A 12-hour car trip with a non-housetrained 9 week old puppy!!!!! :) Just kidding. :) Honestly, Miley did *great* on her first long car trip. She didn’t whine, get sick, or have any accidents in the car. She just slept the whole time and went potty right away when we stopped for breaks. What a good girl she is!!! :)

Sunday, July 2nd, 2006 

On Sundays our cousins have a tradition of playing a huge family game of basketball. This Sunday Kevin was able to join in on the action. In the first picture, from left to right are: Cousin Scott, Cousin Crystal, Crystal’s friend Angie, Kevin, Angie’s husband Troy, Crystal’s husband Collin, and Uncle David. Not pictured was my cousin Michael who also played.

Everyone was WORN OUT from basketball, and we all took a dip in the pool afterwards. Miley even joined us for a second!! :)

Sunday night we had a huge family dinner and celebrated Uncle David’s birthday. We never heard the same number twice for how old David was turning, but his grandchildren Gabby and Aries said either 31 or 32. ;)

Monday July 3rd, 2006 On Monday my cousin Christina and I went shopping. Since we both love scrapbooking she took me to her favorite store, Recollections. It was the most amazing scrapbook store I have ever been in! Not only was it HUGE, but it was filled with all the newest, must-have supplies!! I am ready to move!!! ;)

On Monday night, Uncle David took the whole family to his restaurant, Buca Di Beppo. It was an amazing experience, wonderful food, and no one left hungry!! :)

Tuesday, July 4th, 2006 
Miley was definitely the star of the show this weekend. Everyone just loved her!! :) Her two biggest fans were Gabby and Aries, my cousin Scott’s two children.

Not only did Miley love playing with all the people there, she also got to play with Emmitt, Christina’s 10 year old poodle/chow mix. Miley *loved* chasing Emmitt around, and Emmitt was very tolerant of Miley. :-D

We all had a great time and hope we can do it again soon!! :)
